Re: 2019-02-02: #13 Cornell at RPI - 5 years ago
Trotsky Al DeFlorio ursusminor Although Cornell has an overwhelming edge over the years against RPI, RPI has had a number of significant wins vs. the Big Red. E.g., the December 1968 game which I use in my avatar here. I really don't give a shit, Ralph. Don't you think it's time to grow up and forget this? Not as long as our last NCAA title was 1970. RPI, it should be noted, has had one since theby French Rage - Hockey

Re: Gonna Fly Now/Gary Glitter - 5 years ago
LGR14 Beeeej LGR14 What's up with the band this year playing Gonna Fly Now before the teams get back on the ice, such that Gary Glitter starts early and fans are telling the Sieve he sucks before he's even on the ice? The old timing worked forever - not sure why they felt the need to change it. I wasn't privy to the conversation, but my impression is they've been moving it up a little each ofby French Rage - Hockey

Swampy Interesting that PHY are #1, 3, 5 in penalty minutes per game. Ivy teams lead the nation in penalty minutes per game? Who’d of thunk it? They have the boorish manners of a Yalie.by French Rage - Hockey

CU2007 Announcer just said he had a “not family friendly” story to share about what was thrown on the ice in the Harvard game in 1990. Anyone? If I had to guess, it rhymes with "schmildo".by French Rage - Hockey

Re: Bye bye Bliss - 5 years ago
billhoward If you're 60+, you see the "Bye bye Bliss" subject line and think this is about something else happening to Cornell basketball player Dave Bliss '65 MBA '68, who's coached at a half-dozen colleges (including assistant at Cornell), amasssed 500+ D1 wins, had some close calls with the NCAA rulebook (putting it nicely), was coach at Baylor in the early 2000s when a player shot aby French Rage - Hockey

Cornell Pricks in the News - 5 years ago
The House GOP was set to hold a hearing on the minimum wage today. They had to delay it because it was discovered one of their witnesses had a history of homophobic blog posts. That witness: Joe Sabia. Yes, the same Joe Sabia who was head of the Cornell Review for like 10 years. Yes, the same Joe Sabia who staged a "coup" to oust moderates from the Cornell College Republicans thaby French Rage - John Spencer Is Dead

scoop85 Oliver Wahlstrom, who was a Harvard commit and is almost certain to go in the top-10 in this year's NHL draft, has flipped to BC. Harvard still has an excellent class coming in, but losing Wahlstrom takes a bit of the luster off that class. Good news for his future wife that Oliver will not be playing hockey at Harvard.by French Rage - Hockey
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 - 6 years ago
Trotsky So I need some remedial lax tutoring. 5 seconds to go and we truck the Syracuse player with possession and take the penalty. Why didn't that stop the play and lead to Syracuse getting some advantage (extra player?) for the final 5 seconds? It looked to me like our Dman could have just pulled out a handgun and shot the guy and there would be no recourse at that point. That seemsby French Rage - Other Sports

Scersk '97 Trotsky RichH Jebus. Unretire the numbers. Have a “Wall of Honor” on the western end. Or a “Red Rafter of Glory.” Or something similar. This isn’t hard. This is the correct answer. Retired numbers are stupid. Of course. What better honor, or stick to beat someone with, would there be than wearing #25? "Oh, you're Nieuwendyk, then? Better score, kid." This. KenP Anne 85 KenP IMO biggest room for improvement is Strength of Schedule.I'd have said so too but our shit SOS got us to #1 in the country this year. Now, did it hurt our preparation for the playoffs? Maybe. Cupcakes are tasty but won’t help you get to full potential. But they're so hot right now.by French Rage - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
Swampy cufan A couple of years ago the basketball team made it a point to play some really top flight programs for the experience. Yes they lost to Syracuse and Kansas but they did make it to the Sweet 16. Perhaps there is still time to set up some quality non ECAC opponents so the schedule will not be called "cupcake".
