If you can manage to wade through the greasy mullett, he's a pompous, self-righteous ass. All he ever talks about were his glory days in LA (when he couldn't even deliver with the Great One). He's extremely opinionated, and usually wrong.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Guess I should clear up my post before I get tarred and feathered. I'm certainly not criticizing your pronunciation, as you do it the way the players and pronunciation guide say to, as you should. But as for Paolini, I could swear I remembered Sam, Sr. pronouncing it pah-o-LI-ni when Sam was a freshman. And regardless of who pronounces it what, that is the correct Italian way of pronouncing it. Dby CowbellGuy - Hockey

Yes, it's supposed to have less cheese on it, which is why I always used to order a WGC/G&G/Pep/Mush..., until the guy taking orders kept insisting that a Sep-Pep/G&G... was identical. So I'm not convinced there's actually a difference in cheese.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Olympic Hockey - 22 years ago
Wow. Sounded like a great game. I was gonna stream the games from home so I could watch at work, but I've been a lazy ass. I think that was sufficient motivation to get it done though...by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: goaltending possibilities - 22 years ago
Actually, it SHOULD be pronounced leh-ne-VOO, but I've had to listen to Paolini mispronounced for 3 years, so...by CowbellGuy - Hockey

It would be nice to have 2 10-game winning goalies in the same year, after all... When was the last time that happened?by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Live Score Updates - 22 years ago
OK, as requested, I've added a live score update that appears in place of the date at the top of the page when active. It requires a simple login, so if you'd like to participate, e-mail me a name and password you'd like to use, and I'll send you the info. Clarification: It only requires a login to update the scores. Everyone can see it.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Prior to January 1? You've been predicting doom and gloom on USCHO right up until about a couple weeks ago...by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: Everything But Anchovies - 22 years ago
Well, if you're looking at it in flat view, that link from Beeeej does not get split over multiple lines, so I suspect you just need to scroll your window to the right to see the link. Doing something about links like that is next on the list, incidentally.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
New messages - 22 years ago
OK. It should now keep track of new messages from the database if you log in and with cookies if you don't. Not terribly well tested, but it seems to work right. All messages will appear as new the first time you log in, but just click Mark All Read and it should get you current. Let me know if there are problems.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: Suggestions for eLynah Forum - 22 years ago
CHDF threaded view used frames, which I was specifically begged of not to use (and is more often than not just a lazy way of doing things). Flat view lists messages from oldest to newest, and due to database structure aimed at performance, a detailed description of which would bore everyone, it can't go the other way.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

As for the skating, I think a step in the right direction would be to get judges that aren't from any of the participating countries. They show time and time again that they're not unbiased, so that would at least be a start. And nevby CowbellGuy - Hockey
