Re: Union @ CU 2/14/14 - 10 years ago
profudge I don't feel this seasons officiating is much worse overall. Missing a blatant extra man on the ice, on a goal scoring play is very poor job with 4 officials! Penalty should have been whistled about 2 - 3 seconds prior to the shot that scored. It happened right in front of us and our whole section was up in arms booing and yelling at the refs it was so bad. That is just one calby CowbellGuy - Hockey

The video is too tight to see what was going on near the blue line, but there were definitely 6 Union players in the goal celebration.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

KeithK What gets me sometimes is that New puts you on the correct post initially but then once all of the pictures and videos and such load )and fill up space) the window ends up soemwhere further up (earlier in) the page. So I have to guess where the new stuff begins. Maybe that's just a Firefox thing but it's annoying and can be confusing. The browser doesn't know the height of all the randoby CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Maine 12/29 - 10 years ago
marty Anyone who paid to watch the games this weekend can access them via a video on demand feature from America One. Sign in and click on the VOD button. You must choose the 28th or 29th in the calendar for the appropriate game to show in the window. Umm. I can't find a VOD button. Where the hell is it? If I search for the date of the games nothing shows up in my account.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

ACM Here is their preview of their game against Yale on 12/27. Please try not to laugh too hard. Pure gold. Last year, now under Keith Allen’s mentorship since 2006, The Yale Bulldogs finally won NCAA title thus becoming the strongest U.S. college team.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

LGR14 Just picked up a beautiful Lowry jersey. Looks great More likely a Joe Scali, but you'd probably have to be a jersey nerd to notice.by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: Thank you Age - 10 years ago
Robb Good call - donation made. Age, would you be willing to share how much $$$ this costs per year? Just curious whether the amount we're kicking in could even come close to covering you. I don't think I want to know about the hours you spend - we definitely can't afford that part, anyway! Nope The server has multiple uses so it would be hard to give a hard number anyway. nyc94 Swampy In related news, UNO swept #8 Miami over the weekend. Since we swept them during the first weekend of our season, UNO has gone 6-2, with wins over Denver, #8 Miami, #15 North Dakota, and #5 Michigan -- the two losses were to North Dakota & Michigan. Next weekend's opponent, currently unranked BU got a win & tie over those #15 Nodak characters. Possible future opponent Maine,by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: Clarkson 11/15 - 10 years ago
Cop at Lynah Oh Oh....College Hockey News already has it listed as a 5-1 Clarkson victory Clarkson graciously sent the box from their last women's game with last night's game ID. The CHN app's scripts kept pulling this score from the CHN db and I had to keep resetting it from my phone during a concert. It was not ideal. At any rate, I've added yet another sanity check to the CHN app scripts to prby CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: 11/9 Union - 10 years ago
It's a good team that's very thin up the middle, and Bardreau being out really throws a wrench in the works. When RPI runs away with the regular season at least, that tie will look a bit more impressive. The Union game, however, was a mess, and hopefully not the start of a trend.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Game worn jerseys available - 10 years ago
Trotsky andyw2100There must be a lot of variability in this. Because the year after Topher Scott graduated, I snagged both his senior jerseys (home and away) for my daughter and (now ex-) wife, and both came with not only the nameplates still attached, but also the captain's "C"s and the ECAC patches. I had read here to expect all of those to be removed, so was pretty pleased to find alby CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Game worn jerseys available - 10 years ago
Yes, PSP can make them. The team typically reuses them until their senior year. The player gets one of the senior sweaters so, at best, you'll be lucky to find one nameplate still on a jersey for sale over the player's career, though I'm not sure those typically make it out either.by CowbellGuy - Hockey
Re: Princeton - 10 years ago
Trotsky Speaking of, the UNO announcers mentioned that during one of those games there were two South African-born players on the ice at the same time. (The UNO roster doesn't list anybody's hometown as SA, so not sure who they meant.) Zahn Raubenheimer was born in Praetoria (like you really had to ask).by CowbellGuy - Hockey

Re: New Rules? - 10 years ago
Josh '99 Fraser, it should be pointed out, was standing basically upright and not actively trying to block the shot that hit him in the face. Mandating this "skating position" thing might increase offense (if we assume that's a goal that needs to be achieve) but it's not going to do anything for safety. I know, I know, The timing was appropriate thoughby CowbellGuy - Hockey
