Re: ECAC in Albany, thread 2 - 21 years ago
All the usual national chains have properties either in the city or very close by. Just don't stay at the Motel 6 - Mark and I stayed there for the regionals in '96, and even by Motel 6 standards, it was absolutely awful. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

Oh, c'mon, Keith, that card game we played all afternoon Sunday wasn't exciting enough for you? (Or maybe my driving?) Yeah, I'm trying to look at this glass as half-full, too. I wanted Gore as president, but I was happy about my taxes with Bush. So now I'll focus on the four hours less driving, the better hotel policies, and the Big House Brewery a few blocks from the Peps^H^H^H^HKnick. Beeby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: [OT] Clemens soooooooo gets what he deserves. - 21 years ago
My recollection is that the worst thing Piazza said about Clemens was when he was asked if he thought the first beaning (I was at that game, btw - it was a pretty horrific moment) was intentional. His answer was, "I can respect the fact of throwing inside. I can respect the fact of getting hit in the ribs or getting hit in the body. For me, I choose to try and think of Roger Clemens as a gby Beeeej - Hockey

I didn't end up going - among other things, I ended up with too much to do Thursday and on today to "waste" all of Thursday night and sleep all of today. Of course, now I'm sitting in my apartment stewing over the fact that, yet again, it's raining hard enough that I don't want to go to Shea but probably not hard enough for a rainout. *sigh* Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: 2003 NCAA Tickets - 21 years ago
That practice is illegal in a couple of states, too - but none of the states that will ever host the Frozen Four. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

Re: [World Cup] USA vs S. Korea - 21 years ago
You should've just done what I did... take a nap until your alarm clock wakes you five minutes before the game starts. Of course, this Friday I'm going to try something different. I'm going to go down to Nevada Smith's downtown on Thursdsay evening with a lot of cash and a couple of friends, and try to eat, drink, and hold a table until 7:25am. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: 2003 NCAA Tickets - 21 years ago
Thank goodness they asked for an e-mail address on the application... since I left my job at Columbia, I've been online most weekdays all day from home, and they couldn't get through to me yesterday to let me know my credit card wasn't going through. Thank goodness also that someone in the ticket office at HSBC Marine Whatever Arena thought to e-mail me about it instead of continuing to get busyby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Dave Ferguson: C.U. *lax* star?? - 21 years ago
Oh, yeah. Plenty. I thought you were suggesting I should look him up on Cornell's alumni database, since I used to work for Alumni Affairs & Development, but you probably didn't even know that about me. Couldn't imagine what else you meant, truly. Hey, I'm back. Anything new around here? Who's joining me in Lake Placid in March? (ug.) Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

Re: [Lax] Brown home finale - 21 years ago
Hardly! We only have to look to last season to see Brown enjoying the role of Spoiler. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: TBRW? Awards - 21 years ago
John (and, more to the point, Greg), The link under Damian Rocke's name on slack.net leads to a non-existent page at TBRW, "97goons.html" or some such thing. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Newy and the cup! - 21 years ago
Hey, wait a minute, I resent -- ah, I just can't do it with a straight face anymore. This is just as good a time as any to mention that I'm attending law school in the fall. Oh yeah, and for folks who haven't seen this before, here's Joe and the Cup at Cornell: Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

Sounds to me like his stats don't give him much better options. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: [Lax] Cornell at Princeton - 22 years ago
Incidentally, Jason N '95 introduced himself to Lowell and me at the game. He arrived at halftime, so we're pretty sure it's all his fault. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: 2002-03 student ticket sales procedure announced - 22 years ago
Cool - they're having the line-up for season tickets on Sukkot, so Jewish students can set up temporary wooden shelters while on line, and use gourds to beat line-skippers into submission! Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: 2003 FF - 22 years ago
I imagine that if you send e-mail to feedback@ncaachampionships.com, the very least that will happen is that they can tell you who the proper person is to contact regarding your priority status. At least I hope they can. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey Assn. Banquet and Awards - 22 years ago
Head coach Mike Schafer announced at the end of the evening that Murray and junior forward Stephen Bâby would serve as team co-captains next season. I imagine that answers the question of whether Murray is staying for his senior year. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey

Re: Notes on the Frozen Four (long) - 22 years ago
Lou, To be honest, I'm not sure - I'm one of the lucky ones who'd had tickets to the FF for a couple of years before they started doing the lottery by priority, so I may never really have to worry about it again. But my best advice would be to keep checking as often as you can in the days leading up to April 22 (which is when they say the application will be available online to the public), anby Beeeej - Hockey

I could conceivably get my car for that weekend instead of taking the train. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: lax.com article - 22 years ago
Now I'm planning on being at the Princeton game, yes. Oh, and if you encounter the same hesitation again, just stand near a bunch of Cornell people and say, "Are any of you from the eLynah Forum? A) Yes B) No C) Bitter, Cranky Old Man." Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Rutgers - 22 years ago
I might actually be able to make the Quarters at Hofstra on May 18, but as for the rest... May 11 I'm in Yosemite, May 12 Las Vegas, May 19 NYC AIDSWalk, May 25 and 27 in Miami. Ah, well. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Notes on the Frozen Four (long) - 22 years ago
From what Coach Mullins told me, Coach Schafer is extremely proud of his team and what they accomplished, but it's impossible to come as close to the Frozen Four as they did and not make it, and not do a little bit of second-guessing. We didn't get into much detail, which is probably just as well since repeating even this much makes me a bit uncomfortable. As for the women's team, Coach thinksby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Notes on the Frozen Four (long) - 22 years ago
That's what the guy said (unless I mentally inserted the "city" part). He's currently living in Philadelphia, not that I expect that to help much... Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
Re: Notes on the Frozen Four (long) - 22 years ago
I'm afraid I stupidly never got his name, but he said he was from New York City originally if that helps. Beeeejby Beeeej - Hockey
