Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: What??? - 16 years ago
Well that is definitely understandable. And we should consider ourselves lucky if it takes a 2-3 game losing streak; it takes BU, Maine, and UNH fans a single period or two of sloppy play before their fans start to cry and jump off the bandwagon (or in BU's and Maine's cases this year, a fiery, sinking train wreck of carnage.)by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey

I'll try to keep the tone a little more positive. The posts in the "time for a change" thread talking about the successes of the other cornell sports teams was really something.by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey
Re: What??? - 16 years ago
I made the unfortunate mistake of asking if anyone else felt that Schaefer might be losing control over this team after last weeks hit from behind incident. I certainly didn't call for his resignation. It seemed to me a legitimate question given some of the uncharacteristic behavior this season; the sloppy Saturdays, the lack of being able to seal wins at home, a general lack of urgency. Re: Cornell 7 RPI 1 (postgame) - 16 years ago
According to USCHO, RPI had only 9 shots on goal total against Colgate on Friday night, and they are 7.5% (11/147) on the PP for the season. Yikes. Still, its a huge win for the Red and big confidence booster since we had some, ahem, unusual goal scorers.by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey

You're totally right, and that's a great movie The silver lining is that now would be the ideal time to get hot. I'm sure Schafer is going to breathe some fire up their, errrr....at them.by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey
Re: Time for a change - 16 years ago
The change that I think needs to happen IMMEDIATELY is getting rid of this concept of a "building season." It's going the way of the dodo. NHL teams are starting to realize that the sooner they get these kids into their systems, the more likely it is they will succeed at that level. Hockey East and the western conferences have already been dealing with this for a long time, but as thby PAthologicalLynah - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence post-game - 16 years ago
Hmm, good point. I only had the game on redcast, so it's sometimes hard to pin down times for things, I thought he was in there much longer. INCH has much more thorough box scores, the one on USCHO wasn't really much help.by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence post-game - 16 years ago
Do you think it might affect Davenport, having come in down 4-0, playing well enough to get them to 4-2, only to be removed just so the coach could draw up an offensive play? Oh, to be on the bench for that conversation.by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence post-game - 16 years ago
Thanks, I must have missed that in the game thread. I couldn't really understand why he would do that unless it was to shake up the team.by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence post-game - 16 years ago
I didn't say he lost control, I just said I was starting to wonder. And younger teams do tend to make these kind of mistakes. But when he pulled Scrivens, even though it was the PK that gave up 2 goals in 28 seconds, then put him back in later? It seems to me like he is searching for an answer for this team. What's he going to do next, start benching guys, Jack Parker style?by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey

Anyone else starting to think Schafer has lost control over this team?by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey

ok, well, at least someone else gets it. i warned it might be lameby PAthologicalLynah - Hockey
cheer suggestion against Q - 18 years ago
Point to Q's sieve: "Q" Point to our bench: "A" Repeat. Repeat Faster. etc. For maximum effect, use a minute or two after a cornell goal. Actually, I can't decide whether its clever, or lame, but I figured I'd share anyway.by PAthologicalLynah - Hockey
