scoop85 Among the names in the transfer portal is UCONN’s Matthew Wood, a 1st round draftee in the 2022 NHL draft. Rumored to be looking at Minnesota/Wisconsin/NoDak. If he leaves a big loss for a Huskies program trying to gain relevance. When is the Transfer Portal deadline? or does such a thing exist?by Trotsky - Hockey

ugarte Trotsky A dominant PP QB, I guess. My kingdom for a Kaldis! (putting up numbers in the KHL, btw)I was thinking Malinski, but Kaldis, Mark McRae, and Dan Ratushny also came to mind. Robertson is somewhere in that Joakim Ryan / Doug Murray liminal world of aggressive defensemen who need somebody behind them holding down the blueline so they can be, measuredly, irresponsible. We need thatby Trotsky - Hockey
Re: TBRW Awards 2024 - 4 weeks ago
DeSantis had an amazing second half. I also really appreciated Devlin, Penney, and Psenicka down the stretch. I think Psenicka was playing as well as he did in the first half of his freshman year when he looked like an unstoppable force of nature. We have guys who find the net, guys who can see the ice, and guys who can create chances. I'm not sure what the missing Chemical X is to bring itby Trotsky - Hockey
Re: TBRW Awards 2024 - 4 weeks ago
Scersk '97I have my eye on Devlin. We were a different team when he was out. I felt this way about Mack. We have legitimately scary scoring threats in Mack, Castagna, Bancroft, DeSantis (curse sold separately), and then greasy, hard working goal scorers in Walsh, Psenicka, Penney, O'Leary. We don't have the Denver offensive threats, but I think we are the equal of Q. Someone wondered whethby Trotsky - Hockey
Re: TBRW Awards 2024 - 4 weeks ago
I think there was confusion about the Gage Award, given all the Kempf nominations. It is given to a player who flies under the radar, receives few accolades, and/or plays a particular role well. Kempf is as some of you noted the primary stay at home D on a team built out from goal -- the opposite of a supporting player. My choices for Gage were Devlin and Stanley and honestly it could haveby Trotsky - Hockey

ugarte Trotsky USHL. The Times regrets the error. It was not a shot. Rayhill hosted the Cornell 2024 video and was fantastic. Far better than the "talent" that comes out of Bristol.i didn't think it was. it's the offseason and we're arguing in the denver game thread over how much is the right amount of pain to feel. time to get stupid. And we're just the guys to do it.by Trotsky - Hockey

BearLover Trotsky If it's possible to hold guys for another year of USCHO seasoning, now would be when to do it. 17 Forwards and 11 Defenseman fighting for 12 / 6 / +1 slots, respectively, is 9 guys sitting, not including 3 goalies not named Ian Shane. Since all 14 returning F seem to be keepers, I wonder if we will see one or more drop back? I could see Wallace on the blue line. If Rayby Trotsky - Hockey

BearLoverI just got scooped…by scoop! Seriously, I was in the middle of typing out a very similar post. I agree with much of what you said. I’m not sure how it would work regarding the goalie situation—will the Cornell coaches hold one of them back in juniors? Frankly, whoever comes next year will just be waiting behind Shane anyway, so I don’t think it makes much sense from either Cornell’s or Kby Trotsky - Hockey

I've got lots of back channel votes too so I will put up the award winners by COB. Please get your votes in either way; still time to have your say. Unlike many years, this season has lots of variety, even in the big awards. It's too bad we can't award the MVF to the entire class of 2027.by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: NCAA QF - Denver - 4 weeks ago
Dafatone BearLover I guess I’m just kind of tired of it. “The future is bright.” “This freshman class is gonna be really special.” “Cornell will be the favorite in the ECAC next season.” That’s all well and good but at some point you actually have to win. It took a crazy series of events for us to end up in the NCAA quarterfinals with a great chance to win, but we DID end up there, and we DIDN’Tby Trotsky - Hockey

Humans come in two types: half emphasize what is accomplished, half rue what has been left unaccomplished. No doubt the Vast Eternal Plan requires both types to immanentize. I've stopped comparing them. You are all my brothers and sisters in the Lynah Faith.by Trotsky - Hockey
