Re: The Big Sheet - 22 years ago
I dont know, but for all the praise that Bâby gets, I just squirm a little when I watch him skate, hit and play in general. Sometimes he seems just a little TOO tall and kind of misses where he intends to hit. He also sometimes just seems like an awkward skater, but I feel like he compensates for it nicely with his long reach and power.by littleredfan - Hockey
Re: More new recruits (2003) - 22 years ago
Was just looking at the BC recruits and saw: Joe Rooney-LW (1/12/01) St.Sebastians 5'9 170 9-15-85 For 2004 (trying to accelerate schooling to 2003) Can someone tell me how the hell a school can get a guy to commit TWO years in advance??? 2004???by littleredfan - Hockey

Philip: Yeah, let's worry about our ECAC title first. We have had the benefits of playing in a weak ECAC, but other than beating BU once, haven't faired that well against ranked teams outside of the ECAC. Are YOU still in training? I may forgive you if you graduated from engineering, but otherwise, please use fare instead of fairby littleredfan - Hockey

Jim Carey, because he's the funniest man alive. <i wish he were dead> Kevin McLeod nickname: Mac <mack?> If you could improve one aspect of your gaby littleredfan - Hockey

More new recruits (2003) - 22 years ago
Chris Heisenberg lists 2 more recruits for Cornell, but they're for 2003. Kevin McLeod-LW, Camrose (AJHL), 6'2 200, 10-25-84, 54-13-19-32-66 Dan Glover-LD, Camrose (AJHL), 6'2 175 5-4-83, 55-1-10-11-110 Somewhat big players for the lineup I'd *assume* that both are physical oriented players, based on their pim and lack of scoring. see the entire list @by littleredfan - Hockey
Re: PWR after Saturday - 22 years ago
Question: I heard a rumor that the selection committee isolates themselves in a small wooden lodge near a frozen pond and keeps a fire burning in a fireplace. When white smoke appears, they've chosen who will go to the tournament. If black smoke, they have not decided yet. Is there any truth to this rumor? Note: I've actually found out that the procedure to elect the Pope has now slightly chaby littleredfan - Hockey

can't we update the second upcoming game to Clarkson/Harvard since we are assured of playing them in either the championship/consolation game?by littleredfan - Hockey
Re: Iggulden - 22 years ago
Well, saw him 'suited up' in a suit at the end obviously. But I believe Kelly Hughes replaced him in the lineup. I vaguely remember him taking a hard hit last night, but it might have just been a coaches decision to put in a fresh body (VERY fresh...kelly hasn't played since his injury hitting the goalpost, i dont think--i'm glad he's getting some PT, he shows a lot of hustle & strength).by littleredfan - Hockey
Re: Yale-Cornell Part II - 22 years ago
I second that...he's an amazing player. He's physical, makes excellent, quick, sharp passes to his teammates (who don't seem to know what to do with the puck--if Higgins were passing to Higgins, he'd shoot it in the back of the net every time), and great shots. He's also very fast and has a great awareness of where all of his teammates are. I didn't really see how he played defensively, but I doby littleredfan - Hockey

the cornell press release for the all ivy selections basically say: Murray (9-20-29) Paolini (11-16-27) Bâby (?-28) Vesce (?-28) elynah/uscho says: Murray (9-19-28) Paolini (11-17-28) Bâby (7-21-28) Vesce (9-18-27) collegehockeystats says: Murray (9-20-29) Paolini (11-16-27) Bâby (7-21-28) Vesce (9-18-27) Who am I supposed to believe?? Re: [Off-topic] New West Campus Residential House names - 22 years ago
ah thats a whole bunch of nonsense...it won't do any of those. a house will not make upperclassmen care about personal/intellectual growth if they don't already... the uhalls right now have opportunities for faculty interaction, privacy, independence, and programming, just that few take advantage of it.by littleredfan - Hockey
Re: When did we get a new coach... - 22 years ago
these ivyleaguesports guys are real idiots. 8 schools to cover with a plethora of resources provided by schools themselves and they cant even get their stuff straight. i could understand a schaefer instead of schafer (hell even some people on THIS board make that misspelling-unforgiveable, IMHO), but SCHAFTER? and KNIGHTS as our team????? pure idiocyby littleredfan - Hockey
Re: TBell - 22 years ago
apple: yeah tbell will turn 24 by next season (his senior year), but ladouceur just turned 25 last week! I might have finished law school by then!by littleredfan - Hockey
Re: TBell - 22 years ago
you meant to say, I wanted to know if Tbell was cute, so I did a serch for photos of him on .... I only jest actually, if this 'someone' really wants to know, tbell is one of the few that has a picture up on the cornell athletics website; here's the direct link (though i suppose the pic is from his frosh year):by littleredfan - Hockey

ECAC Player of the Week - 22 years ago
I was just reading Blaeser/Moy's column for 2/28 (http://www.uscho.com/m/ec/?data=preview) and it says Doug Murray was ECAC player of the week last week! The ECAC is slow in putting info like this out on their own website, so we have to resort to these little columsn to get our info, but regardless.... Congrats Dougie!!! edit: heres the release: ECAC Avaya Player of Week: Doug Murrayby littleredfan - Hockey
Re: Off topic: Lacrosse - 22 years ago
1) i dont understand pre-season rankings for all-americans and such. what's the point of them? to reward people in anticipation of what they will do this year? to create a standard that they have to live up to? i just dont understand... 2) i would argue that neither leneveu nor underhill are the NCAA's best, but i guess thats left for another thread, another timeby littleredfan - Hockey

Re: THANK YOU SENIORS! - 22 years ago
matt was funny last night. i dont know how many of you could see, but from the far end (away from section A,B), at the beginning of the third period, a water bottle was thrown over in his direction while he was stretching. he calmly grabbed it and threw it over his head and it landed right on the net perfectly. and then he started playing with the puck during the whole penalty sorting-out busineby littleredfan - Hockey
Re: Cornell VS Clarkson , Saturday Feb 23rd - 22 years ago
Yeah I agree Melissa...I saw him working really hard with a good transition game. But thing is, I almost feel he almost got lucky with his slapshot last night. I mean, clearly its a REALLY hard shot, but I think we were also screening Walsh very well and Clarkson's defense wasn't really pushing the screen out well. I definitely think Murray has skill moving the puck towards the goal on a non-sby littleredfan - Hockey
Re: CHAMPIONS! - 22 years ago
With the guaranteed 5 point lead by season's end, you'd have to go back to the 93-94 season (i think) to see a team that had such a large lead at seasons end. If we maintain our 9-point lead with wins against RPI and onion, you'd have to go back to 89-90 when colgate had a 9 point lead over RPI at season's end to find such a large points lead at the end of the season...how's that for another accby littleredfan - Hockey
