Re: NCAA Tournament 2024 - 7 weeks ago
Still crazy to me how bad Shane got shafted on the richter. Having Mbereko over him is heinous.by chimpfood - Hockey

Great game, I’m satisfied with a Q win.by chimpfood - Hockey

Right, I forgot that they had announced that earlier, thanks!by chimpfood - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Cornell admissions - 7 weeks ago
Do we know what proportion of the class is from early decision? It seems like a lot of colleges are really leaning into that to improve their yield which then lowers regular acceptance rates, causes students to apply to more colleges regular decision, and makes schools admit even more students early.by chimpfood - John Spencer Is Dead

adamw chimpfood adamw chimpfood On the CHN podcast today Adam said that he supports teams being able to host regionals in their own rinks but should only play there if they are a one or two seed. To me, this makes no sense to not just do home games for the first two rounds. Firstly, it shows that he has no issue with schools hosting NCAA games in their home rink and this system doesn’t eliminateby chimpfood - Hockey

ice chimpfood BearLover Larry72 chimpfood Man we’ve got a real winnable game up next too. Denver didn’t look good against UMass, will be gassed from double OT, and we beat them last year. Let’s get Schafer his frozen four that he deserves. Remember that Denver is playing essentially at sea level instead of 5000"+, they have a day off, and they all are in great shape (as is Cornell)! Agreeby chimpfood - Hockey

Re: NCAA Round 1 - Maine - 7 weeks ago
cth95 Announcers said Boija is sick. They also said Ostman started 17 of the first 19 games. Sounds like Boija got the hot hand and took over. if I was healthy enough to get out of bed, let alone sit on the bench, I would not be sitting out in the NCAA tournament. I feel like it might be some concern about his recent performance coupled with an illnessby chimpfood - Hockey

Gotta blow that whistle earlier, don’t give me a 2019 galajda situation.by chimpfood - Hockey
Re: NCAA Round 1 - Maine - 7 weeks ago
I’m not sure why Maine started Ostman but hopefully we can make them regret it. Not too worried about the shot difference right now considering the major and Maine taking a lot of nothing shots.by chimpfood - Hockey

Re: NCAA regionals in Springfield - 7 weeks ago
I’ve watched a decent bit of Maine this season and they seem to do really well at home and not great away from it. They play with a ton of energy and have a solid goalie, though he hasn’t been amazing as of late.by chimpfood - Hockey
Re: What happened to PWR this year? - 8 weeks ago
I’m so excited for this, the NCAA is what I live for and this is a very favorable regional IMO.by chimpfood - Hockey
Re: What happened to PWR this year? - 8 weeks ago
Looks like we’ll get Maine in Springfield with Denver as the 1 seed in the region and Umass as the 4.by chimpfood - Hockey
Re: ECAC Final - St. Lawrence?! - 8 weeks ago
Saying Czech Republic instead of Czechia is like saying Republic of Moldova instead of Moldova. Not technically wrong, just weird that a lot of people use the official name.by chimpfood - Hockey

Re: Basking in the glow of #13 - 8 weeks ago
Schafer quoted in the CHN article as saying “Im on the back 9 here.” Although it really isn’t a shock, it is sad to hear him say with the guy having been coach as long as I can remember. If I had to guess I would say he goes when these 10 freshman graduate.by chimpfood - Hockey
Re: Basking in the glow of #13 - 8 weeks ago
Hopefully the first of many for this young group. I’ve had a blast this season but the future is even brighter.by chimpfood - Hockey

ER Does nobody know that Chechnya and Czech Republic are two different places?Chech republic is the official name, Czechia is what people in Czechia call it, I’m not sure why it was ever widely called the Czech republicby chimpfood - Hockey
