Vibe's been weak for a while. How many actual undergrads come here anymore? Seems like it's just an old guard thing now.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Tonight's game v. Penn State - 9 years ago
Section 209 indeed! Very good chant. I liked the engaging PSU fan to our right. Too bad he was one-upped by douchy violent fan.by BMac - Hockey
Re: Tonight's game v. Penn State - 9 years ago
Great game (because we won). Msg was completely ours- just unbelievable. Against BU and Michigan it's still mostly us, but much more balanced. This year it was like hosting Brown. The PSU fans were fun other than the guy who said he was going to "smash my f-ing face." His dad was pretty embarrassed for him and he almost tripped down the stairs as he left with two minutes left in theby BMac - Hockey
Re: Attendance at Lynah - 9 years ago
I started as a freshman. I had heard it was the thing to do, but didn't really know anyone with which to do the line. One guy in my dorm was up to try to find tickets and we found someone willing to sell us some for a premium (hey Oat). The guy from the dorm went to maybe 5 games, I went alone to the rest. But standing at the top of B for the 2004-05 season (undefeated at home) was really specialby BMac - Hockey

Beeeej, I haven't had that trouble with my MBP. I usually use airplay off my iphone or macmini with no problem, as you say. Have you tried with different wireless routers? I really saw a big improvement when I got a new multi-band device- in general, not just ILDN. Turns out between two laptops, phones, the apple TV, the desktop, the ipad and the kindle we were overloading our circa 2009 deby BMac - Hockey
Let's talk about ILDN - 10 years ago
I hate the offseason. But seriously, ILDN was pretty awesome. After years of "redcast sucks" posts, we've pretty much seen the end of complaining about the feed from lynah. I've watched more games this year than any since graduation. Because mobile works so well, I've been able to watch high-def games from tons of places when I couldn't be home to catch the game, which has bby BMac - Hockey

Re: Lake Placid Attendance - 10 years ago
Two old ECAC powers battling it out in an historic rink? The reminder for fans of both schools of their long ECAC history? Lake Placid becoming THE place for the ECAC? What's not to like? (Obviously it doesn't make sense with BU because of the MSG series. But still.)by BMac - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid Attendance - 10 years ago
Adam, that's the best reasoning I've heard yet. Having never been to LP, I supported the idea of LP just because... well, *I* want to see it! (It's not happening for me this year, but that's another story). But when we're fighting against the other leagues with tournaments in Boston Garden, Joe Louis Arena, etc, I'd much, much rather say that we're playing in 1980 rink than the Times-Unionby BMac - Hockey
Re: Game 3: the race to 4 goals - 10 years ago
Great play in OT. Really, since around halfway through the third they were cycling with impunity. It was like watching Cornell play Cornell out there. Big guys, defensively-minded, great goaltender, very few scoring opportunities. Happy to see our Cornell take the win with effort. Loved Andy's kiss-the-ice dive at the end. I wish there had been audio! It's too bad the glass is too high to rby BMac - Hockey

Re: Favorite Harvard Game Memory - 10 years ago
Serious question: stacking players like cordwood. Would it actually take up the entire goalmouth? Is there anything actually stopping one from trying? How many players would it take? Is it the optimal strategy for a 5-on-3 PK? (OK, OK, not that serious. But still.)by BMac - Hockey
Re: Favorite Harvard Game Memory - 10 years ago
This is a really unstable equilibrium, because order matters. If I pull my goalie, I have a higher chance of scoring, whether you pull yours or not. So it seems like a Nash equilibrium. But if you pull your goalie first, though, I'll take my chances. Q: So... do you get in a situation where I pull, then you pull, then I send back, then you send back, and so on?? A: No. Because if I pulby BMac - Hockey

Don't feed the trolls. Some people don't understand distributions. "If we play that way all the time we'll do well" means "statistically if we play that way we'll score more than our opponents." Mehby BMac - Hockey
