Re: Sea of red - 19 years ago
I just sent the message below to Chris Feaver (not Theaver, as I wrote yesterday) of the "Ithaca Journal." I don't expect a reply, as no reply is necessary, but if I get one I will let people here know about it. Andy W. --- Thanks for taking the time to speak with me yesterday, Chris. Well, wanting to do my part I just called the "Ithaca Journal." I spoke to Chris Feaver, who is going to be writing the article previewing the Cornell-Clarkson series this weekend. I asked him if he had heard about the attempt to get everyone at Lynah to wear red this weekend, and he said he had heard something about it. I said that I thought it would be great if he could add a line orby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Frozen Four/Regional Tickets - 19 years ago
In 2003 I didn't have much trouble finding a ticket for sale on the USCHO message boards. After the four teams are determined, there will be fans of some of the other schools who had optimistically purchased tickets who want to sell them, since their team isn't going. You probably won't have too much trouble scoring tickets. Andy W.by andyw2100 - Hockey

If it goes to OT tonight do they play 20 minutes OTs? Andy W. Edit: 20 minute max OTs, as opposed to 5---obviously they're sudden death.by andyw2100 - Hockey

Would a Number 1 in polls really have no impact on selection committee - 19 years ago
I have read enough here to know that in theory the NCAA tournament bracket, set by the NCAA selection committee is not based on the polls, but rather on the PairWise Rankings (PWR.) I also understand that beyond some specifics about where the four number 1 seeds get to play the committee can exercise some discretion. (For example, the true number 1 does not have to play the true number 16 in theby andyw2100 - Hockey

I am almost positive that we were number 1 in the polls going into the NCAA tourney. Or in the very least number 1 in the polls going into the Frozen Four. Re: Numbers: Box Set - 19 years ago
I just took a very quick look at some of them. I don't mean to criticize, because I am completely amazed at the amount of data you have amassed. That being said, it seems McKee is missing from a number of tables that he should be included in. Take a look at the goaltending records, for example. I am pretty sure McKee should be in the first two for sure...GAA and save percentage, and he doesn't apby andyw2100 - Hockey
Cornell and McKee's GAA improved every weekend of 2005 - 19 years ago
I thought this was interesting. Cornell (and McKee's) GAA decreased every weekend so far in 2005. The first weekend McKee allowed three goals against Brown and Harvard (2,1), but at the time the GAAs were above 1.5, so the three goals in two games improved the GAA. Every weekend since then McKee has allowed either one or two goals, improving the GAA even more. Let's hope they keep this up throby andyw2100 - Hockey

Re: Cornell Coaching Championships - 19 years ago
Speaking of banners, does anyone else here think it was a mistake to replace the nice, old, cloth banners with the current plastic ones? I feel like the old ones were really classy, and that there was something cool about thinking that they were actually hung at the time they were earned. It added to the mystique of Lynah, at least for me. I'm wondering if others here might feel the same way.by andyw2100 - Hockey
