Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2019 - 5 years ago
I was referring to Duke. And I don’t know or care who stole what. It’s a beautiful campus and like Stanford is an example of athletic scholarships coexisting successfully with academic excellence.by KenP - Other Sports

mike1960 Al DeFlorio billhoward BearLover Congrats to everyone on this forum who was happy for Yale's success, especially their national championship. As opposed to the joy of Duke winning. The guy's just a whiner, Bill. Always has been. And, yes, I'm delighted that an Ivy won the lacrosse championship. I am delighted as well. Additional note: I'd like to hate Duke as much as the next ratioby KenP - Other Sports

I do not like the roster expansion. I worry it will benefit perrenial powerhouse teams with enough depth, and in turn will hurt a team who is trying to rebuild or for whatever reason has less talent to pull from.by KenP - Hockey

George64 Pulver wins Senior CLASS Award. Teat first team USILA All-American. Knight, Dowiak and Pulver also honored. What an amazing young man.by KenP - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 - 5 years ago
Al DeFlorio Teat article on collegecross: Wow, that’s crazy. I wonder how much his 0G-1A was a factor. My favorite ESPN commentator line came just before that assist. “Teat now being guarded by a short stick I wonder what he will do.” ...... “Anything he wants to....”by KenP - Other Sports

dag14 Knight got a penalty for slashing so he left the game to serve his penalty. The ESPN announcers missed it all; I am not sure they ever acknowledged that fact. ESPN did explain correctly why he left. When Knight returned.by KenP - Other Sports

I know there are clear benefits to being home team in hockey, even at a neutral venue. Any built-in advantages for lax home teams?by KenP - Other Sports

Re: 2018-19 Schedule - 5 years ago
Michigan State was 12-22-2 this year and #35 in Pairwise. Let's hope they are a stronger team next year. With that said.. not too strong... a pair of wins would REALLY help our common-opponent comparisons with Big-10 teams.by KenP - Hockey

Frozen four would exceed expectations.... can't wait!by KenP - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 5 years ago
Anne 85 KenP IMO biggest room for improvement is Strength of Schedule.I'd have said so too but our shit SOS got us to #1 in the country this year. Now, did it hurt our preparation for the playoffs? Maybe. Cupcakes are tasty but won’t help you get to full potential.by KenP - Hockey

BearLover upprdeck One goal was on the D. the breakway we had tremendous pressure and were taking pot shots and the puck just deflected into the perfect spot for a breakaway. the bounce was a bad bounce off the boards, a lucky kick off the Attacker skate, then 2 deflections off the Cornell D for an own goal.. Even the empty netter we controlled the puck for almost the 4 min we pulled the goalieby KenP - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 5 years ago
BearLover Trotsky BearLover The story is also wrong that Cornell is "considerably smaller than they've been in recent years." Cornell is the second-tallest team in the country. Both could be true. This says Cornell is 6th in average weight, which might even be artificially low given the ten freshmen on the team who will likely get bigger: I heard from a western hockey fan that Cornell wby KenP - Hockey
NCAA Regionals - 5 years ago
Midwest Regional game 1: Michigan Tech strikes first but Notre Dame responds with a pair of goals. Currently up 2-1 midway through the 2nd. West Regional game 1: Five minutes in, no score. Air Force 0, St. Cloud St. 0 Later tonight: Clarkson vs Providence and Minnesota-Duluth vs Minnesota Stateby KenP - Hockey

Trotsky marty Trotsky cth95 ESPN's NHL Power Rankings states that Donato is still taking classes at Harvard while he is playing for the Bruins.Says more about Harvard classes than Donato. But nothing we didn't already know. Says something about our D too! That they let in 4 to Princeton? (1) Unlucky Bounce + Fluke (2) Breakaway (3) Defense Breakdown (4) ENGby KenP - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Starts - 5 years ago
For what it’s worth don’t forget we still receive the structural advantage of being #1 seed: we are the home team with regard to bench location and line changes.by KenP - Hockey
Re: Ticket info & Who's going to Worcester? - 5 years ago
I was hoping and even planning to make it. Unfortunately the long distance plus later game schedule messed me up. If we make it to St. Paul I'll hopefully make the trip....by KenP - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Starts - 5 years ago
If you are trying to maximize ticket sales AND Penn State has effectively sold out Allentown already, then Cornell in Bridgeport makes most sense.by KenP - Hockey
Re: Opponents News 2: Hockey's the Reason for the Season - 5 years ago
11 of 15 games this weekend were won by the lower seed team. Wow.by KenP - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Starts - 5 years ago
Of course if Denver knocks Cornell to the #5 spot, none of that matters. It is mathematically impossible for Cornell to be #5. They will be 3 or 4.by KenP - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Starts - 5 years ago
Based on results so far Cornell is 100% guaranteed to be #4 or higher in PWRby KenP - Hockey
