Re: Opponent News 19-20 - 4 years ago
Trotsky So, I was beginning to write up my TBRW Predictions for 2019-20 and in doing the Returning Awardees I noticed that every one of the 9 ECAC Awardees (All-ECAC, POTY, ROTY) has either graduated or signed except for Morgan Barron, Harvard ROTY D Casey Dornbach, and Quinnipiac All-ECAC D Chase Priskie. Just to make sure, I googled Priskie. He signed yesterday. are you sure he didn’t gby KenP - Hockey

Trotsky Scersk '97 Trotsky Harvard loses a defenseman. They also lost recruits Ryan Del Monte and Cole Shepard who bolted to the CHL. So, two senior D graduations, two junior D departures, and one senior (mostly starting) goalie graduation. They return a sophomore D, a freshman D, and a junior backup (although probably pretty good) goaltender. Going to be an interesting year in Alston, methby KenP - Hockey

Rita KenP Interesting that Ben Tupker is listed as 6'3" while his twin brother Zach is only 6'1" Are they Fraternal twins (vs. identical twins)? Yes, identical twins according to the press release.by KenP - Hockey

Trotsky Fox is in the Hobey Hat Trick. All 3 nominees are defensemen and all three look like exactly the same frat boy date rapist. You mean white, male, fit and of college age?by KenP - Hockey

Classy final 90 seconds by Cornell. Full control in the Northeastern end, zero shots.by KenP - Hockey

abmarks scoop85 ugarte scoop85 More of this pleaseMy son was 9 months old and I woke him up yelling when Barlow scored that goal and I reminded my wife of it when I watched that clip and let me tell you she is not even a little less mad about it. You mean my wife isn’t the only one who thinks screaming at the tube during a Cornell game is insane? My dog gets startled during games as a resultby KenP - Hockey

Just curious where would we most likely be playing had they won last night?by KenP - Hockey
Re: Bracketology 2019 - 4 years ago
So.... looking at CHN PWR... the 2 and 3 seeds look like a natural split - 5-12, 6-11, 7-10, 8-9. No 1st round conflicts. Unless they really screw around for travel reasons we are #11 against #6 Northeastern. Only question is which venue....by KenP - Hockey
Re: Bracketology 2019 - 4 years ago
marty Jeff Hopkins '82 upprdeck multiple shots to get to 7 seed. PSU losing would help since it keeps them out of allentown too. Basically... If we win and Northeastern and Denver both lose (or Denver ties), we get to 7. If either one of those two win, we get 8. If they both win, we get 9. We lose, and we're 11 in most cases, except if Bowling Green beats Mankato. Then BG gets 11 andby KenP - Hockey

BU and Northeastern are in overtime. A win by the Terriers would help us out.by KenP - Hockey

Using Ticket-Cost / Minute-of-Hockey as a metric, I hope fans watching Clarkson and Harvard tonight have the Best. Game. Ever.by KenP - Hockey
Re: Bracketology 2019 - 4 years ago
ugarte Dafatone andyw2100 Dafatone Root for Clarkson over Harvard, I realize that the post I am quoting is talking about what it takes to make sure we get into the tourney. But if we prefer to root for the things that get is as high as possible in the pairwise, I believe we need to root for Harvard (ouch) over Clarkson. Re: Men's & Women's Awards 2018-19 - 4 years ago
ugarte Jim Hyla Another week goes by and we get shut out of ECAC awards, men and women. I guess you can say it's a team game and that's why both of our teams are in first place, without any player awards. What award do you think we should have received last week after losing to RPI and squeaking by Union? I'm just glad that we're still technically in position for an at-large and worry that anby KenP - Hockey

Trotsky upprdeck its possible to clinch first on fri or fall to 5th on sat.. crazy yearIIRC there was a season a while ago where somebody still had the range [2 .. 10] or thereabouts going into the final weekend. Not typical to have such a cluster at the top. We saw to that unfortunately by giving away 5-6 points. By all rights we had the RS #1 wrapped up in January -- we just done fucked upby KenP - Hockey

Re: Might be a record - 3 goals in 52 seconds - 4 years ago
ACM Not even close to a record. Cornell scored 3 goals in 24 seconds in an 8-2 victory over Princeton on Feb. 28, 1976. According to TBRW it was 3 goals in just 15 seconds.by KenP - Hockey
Re: Conference Play - 4 years ago
Chris '03 Jeff Hopkins '82 Beeeej Beeeej Harvard win over Colgate pushes us up to #9 before our game's even over. ...and our own result puts us in #8. And we're now in 1st place in the ECAC with 2 games in hand over Q. With the weirdness of the schedule this year, cornell has three games left with other top six teams and nine with bottom six teams. Which also means our SoS is going to takby KenP - Hockey
Re: 2019-01-14 #20 Cornell at Princeton - 4 years ago
billhoward jtwcornell91I was at that game with my son, who'd decided the end-of-period buzzers disturbed him, so I'd already covered his ears when the goal went in and the air horn sounded. It was fun, since we got to cheer in each other's faces. When our son was 1, the two of us went to the football game at Princeton. It was a time when Princeton fired off a cannon to celebrate a touchdown. Thby KenP - Hockey
