Re: Cornell Hockey European Tour - 9 years ago
The team traveled to Porrentruy, Switzerland to face HC Ajoie tonight. The hockey game ended in a 2-2 tie, and Ajoie won the shootout. That is the last hockey game the team will play in Europe. The team will visit Rome, Venice, and Milan before returning home. Edit: I updated the Storify post to include more information and highlights.by cbuckser - Hockey

The Cornell player looks like Evan Barlow, and the Dartmouth goaltender has an A on his sweater. So, I would guess that the photo was taken on November 17, 2007. Barlow scored on Mike Devine in the first period of that game.by cbuckser - Hockey

Josh '99LeNeveu has never played in Trenton (in Princeton a couple of times, true, but not for over 10 years) and never played against the Trenton ECHL team that no longer exists, so why is there an article about him (about as long as the one about Martin St. Louis) by the Trenton local paper's hockey writer? My guess is it's because, as the article itself notes, there wasn't a long wait to inteby cbuckser - Hockey

TrotskyA large part of my evaluation of this year's team depends on tonight. Tonight will tell whether this is 2004 or 2006. I felt similarly going into last night's game, though I think 2009 or 2012 are better comps than 2006.by cbuckser - Hockey
Re: Game 3: Cornell 1, Clarkson 0 (OT) - 10 years ago
billhoward Icy The OT goal was classic Cornell. So was momentarily leaving the opponent an open net for long enough to get off a shot. Praise Allah, the infidels from the North aimed wide. Praise Cole Bardreau. As Icy noted on a different thread, Cole dove and got his stick in the way of the shot.by cbuckser - Hockey
Re: Annual Awards - 10 years ago
jtwcornell91 BTW, Greg, Skazyk seems to be missing from the uniform number list for 1995. 1994-95 was the first year Eddy wore number 39, which I believe he did to show his fealty to what one member of the forum has termed the Snow Angel School of Goaltending. I'm much less charitable to Eddy Skazyk than Greg. Mike Schafer yanking Eddy at Harvard and handing the reins to Jason Elliott may havby cbuckser - Hockey
Re: Recruits 2014 - 10 years ago
ursusminorRPI recruits who switch from another league to the USHL have invariably had a decrease in production in the USHL which shows to me that the USHL provides stronger competition. In addition to being the league with the most talent, the USHL is a defense-oriented league. It prepares players extraordinarily well for Division I hockey.by cbuckser - Hockey

Trotsky marty Met two sets of parents on Friday at the Onion game. I hope they are back tonight. Racine from Ottawa has great parents that sat behind us. His uncle played goalie for Northeadtern, winning all American honours and the beanpot.I hope Hunter Racine is considering Cornell. He looks like a stud. Interestingly, his uncle (Bruce) runs a goaltender academy attended by one Ryan Coonby cbuckser - Hockey

flyersgolf I was going to say its time for Iles to get hot and stay hot till the end of the season. He has not stood on his head in a while. @ Colorado College? This is it for Andy I hope he has a fantastic final chapter. Great young man. Andy stole the game at Brown two weeks ago. I wouldn't be surprised if his neck is still sore from that game. Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 10 years ago
Last night was the second straight game in which Kevin Guiltinan received a major penalty. He was called for kneeing in the waning minutes of the Beanpot semifinal blowout. Although he didn't take a penalty against Cornell, he lost his composure once. I suspect he has an anger-management problem.by cbuckser - Hockey

Brown forward Kaitlyn Keon posed for this great photo at Lynah Rink on Saturday. In case you were wondering, Dave Keon is her grandfather. Re: UNH 12/28 - 10 years ago
Here are the game articles from the Naples Daily News and the Fort Myers News-Press. I especially liked Mike Schafer's quote in the News-Press article about the team's slow start: Ohhhhh, we were somewhere between Charlotte and Philadelphia still. Those first six, seven minutes, they were on the power play, they came out flying and we didn’t handle it very well.by cbuckser - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - December 2013 - 10 years ago
Weder Trotsky Is there a way to set a watch on a set of players (e.g., the list of Cornellians) on any of the stat websites so that a single click would bring up their current stats? I'd have thought this would be easy given the interest in fantasy teams but I haven't figured out how to do it. I know of this site: Any site with that feature is going to make you register, but I'm not sureby cbuckser - Hockey

RichH ugarte This is obviously way in advance, but I need some advice from you road warriors. I scheduled a trip to Providence so I can go to the Brown game.
