Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 - 6 years ago
I think Cornel has the spurt in needed every game to create the separation, it had the 2-3 games it put away by half. hopefully it has a complete game when it needs to against a good team. I dont know what to think of SU, watched almost every game. the could be top 7-8 but they also could easily be about 2-8 without a couple of late goals. Su was very aggressive and that caused some issby upprdeck - Other Sports

Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 - 6 years ago
it will be an interesting matchup.. some teams have taken him away and cornell has been ok with that . teat has shown one thing most of these other guys dont do and that is he likes to be a cutter tooby upprdeck - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 - 6 years ago
If cornell brings the A game I think they win this game easily. as long as the D doesnt take the same bad penalties as they did vs Harvard I dont think SU can score 10+ and i will be shocked if Cornell doesnt get there without just being crazy sloppy which they were at times last week. the weather may help cornell as we have played most of our games in this stuff and SU has played in the Dome oby upprdeck - Other Sports

Angello scored 13, but he had about 2/3 of them in a short span of time. not that his goals that will be as much as his presence on the ice.. yates scored like crazy and then not for almost 2 months.by upprdeck - Hockey

Angello is gone.. so hope the new kids are good.by upprdeck - Hockey

so what happens with the games not on ESPN+ is the big question. all home games are IVY controlled but it wouldnt be surprising if the games like rpi/clarkson are still the mix of free and extra payments. it should be a bit cheaper though for what we have now.by upprdeck - Hockey

this team wont know what to do if we ever see decent weather.. 35 this weekend. the SU game is at night high of 40 with rain/snow for a night game, gonna be a tough one to sit thruby upprdeck - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 @ Dartmouth 3/31 - 6 years ago
they struggle against inverts and we dont really rely on 1 single guy to score even with teat getting so many assists.by upprdeck - Other Sports

Syracuse is hard to read.. Watched them play some tough teams well and then also got blown out multiple times.by upprdeck - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 @ Dartmouth 3/31 - 6 years ago
Well both teams were playing with backups. does lax have club teams or intramural teams so they could have at least found a 2nd goalie if something else happened?by upprdeck - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 - Ivy lax 3/31 - 6 years ago
great chance to beat SU this year too. hopefully we keep the X as a WASH or better like the last few games.by upprdeck - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 - 6 years ago
5-3 need to make sure you beat dart/lehigh/brown/princ then split su/harv at worst and you get to 10-4 then you have a shot to get to the ncaa even if you dont win the ivy by winning the first gameby upprdeck - Other Sports

Its says 2 yrs for Juniors and 4 yrs for college kids. So what is the real incentive for him to go now and not next year?by upprdeck - Hockey

I will just walk over to the game from my office.. I just know several people who will be coming late to avoid the tickets.. Several friends have gotten tickets going to HS baseball games and parking in the garage before 5 the last few years and since the garage is the last thing they sweep before going off duty it happens a lot.by upprdeck - Other Sports

this is an example of how this campus is run. notes from todays game SPECTATOR INFORMATION: The Crescent Lot, Hoy Parking Garage and other outer lots are reserved for Cornell faculty and staff possessing parking permits until 5 p.m. Fans arriving prior to 5 p.m. should stop at the Transportation Services kiosk on Hoy Road to purchase a parking pass for the Hoy Parking Garage, or be directed toby upprdeck - Other Sports
Re: Next Year's Expectations 2018-19 - 6 years ago
the leading scorer in the country signed for the max ELC. he will make 70K/925K. thats the Max than angello can get. more likely get gets a 2 yr deal than a 3 offered. he will end up with 100K less taxes in the bank and a 70K salary. He probably makes close to that if he gets a job in his major. If he wants to try his luck with Pitt or thinks he wont get drafted/FA again by coming back thby upprdeck - Hockey

SCst played a tougher SOS and that got them beat by air force..by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Next Year's predictions/Expectations 2018-19 - 6 years ago
Angello had one huge scoring streak and makes us better. I dont think he dominated enough to say we cant be pretty good without him. The drop off for harvard and Danato was much larger than ours is if he leaves.by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
there is a limit to who we can play because there is a limit to which teams will come here. We can get the teams like Niagara to come without a return but only so many of the big boys will come here and we wont go there without a return trip. I dont think playing a tougher schedule makes us any more ready, if may show that we are better but we were #3 with this schedule how much better woulby upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
but ND also was bout 30 secs away from not getting past game 1 either. Air Force who is not very good beat SCst. The margin is small not matter how much better you are.. we lost to RPI at home.by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
the MAX AHL salary is roughly 70K for first year guys, so its all about the signing bonus . he probably isnt going right to the NHL where the ELC is capped at 900K and the bonus is capped at 10% of the salary.. So unless he is getting a huge contract like Donato just how much do you think he will get thrown at him?by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
we lost the last 2 games of the season.. BU had a wild swinging goal deflect in that was shot 6 ft off line and a seeing eye shot thru 5-6 bodies and an EN. PU had a breakway where we had the puck, a bad bounce goal and EN and a nice goal on a long breakout pass. no PP goals no odd man rushes, no giveaways in front of the net. no shorties.. things happen.by upprdeck - Hockey
