Re: ECAC Finals Weekend not on TV - 12 years ago
I wonder if they should go and try a rotation of some kind.. I think anyplace other than Boston people would get bored after a couple years. Albany is great for location and ease, not so great for other stuff for many people. For my money I would go to Albany and then every few years go to Boston. the best times were when the ECAC and Hockey East were both in the bldg, great crowds and energy..by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: ECAC Finals Weekend not on TV - 12 years ago
If they couldnt get a live feed why not at least get a time delayed broadcast someplace? And why the talk about Sat time? They can feed it right to the internet for TV feed, TW already does it that way for many broadcasts. if they wanted to keep costs low that could have and still had a better than internet feed to work with.by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: You Are The Committee - 12 years ago
this isnt bball where seeding is really huge.. just get in and you have a shot. even an overall one seed and getting the 16 seed in hockey still means there is a solid chance you lose.by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: You Are The Committee - 12 years ago
if teams already pretty set in PWR win the tourneys CU stays pretty solid.. harvard/bowling green/ mich tech/prov are the ones to worry about. we should know after the first night reallyw what the chances are. CU can get all the way to at least 7 if they win out..by upprdeck - Hockey

figure this game cant get over until 5:30 at the earliest now... i wonder at what point they have to push the mens game back?by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 Dartmouth 3 Game 1 (Friday) Final (2OT) - 12 years ago
if the LW was off sides he also never moved for the rest of the play which would have been strange with a play going to the net.. no cu player ever appears.by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 Dartmouth 3 Game 1 (Friday) Final (2OT) - 12 years ago
looks like a good call with that video.. shows how things look in real time are not always as obvious as it seems especially from 40 yds away like most of the crowd was ..by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey on TV - 12 years ago
too bad they didnt actually offer it as a PPV to the Sats or cable if they are actually going to produce a decent quality product. $9 to watch on the computer vs $15-20 to watch on my Sat box..by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Union 2 (final) - 12 years ago
that looks to me like a goal. based on where the puck reapears after going towards the goal and the angle. i dont think you could get that angle off a the bar, but you could if it went under the bar. but i suppose it could be coming at an angle more towards us than it looks.. the ref was right there he should have seen enough to know whether to review or not.by upprdeck - Hockey

no way the first two are.. dont know what happened to gotovets to put him out anywayby upprdeck - Hockey
Re: ferlins injury - 12 years ago
i suppose you could do something like the movie "breaking Away" just tape his hand to the stick so it would have almost no moveability.by upprdeck - Hockey
ferlins injury - 12 years ago
anyone want to play Dr on how long before he can play with that injury? some google stuff says 3-6 weeks if there is no surgery required?by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 St. Lawrence 3 (ot) - 12 years ago
if CU wins two games this weekend there is a good chance we move up 2-4 spots in the pwr, hard to complain about a one seed and a solid chance to get into the NCAA's. for team with issues we have had a pretty good year. the late leads vs union/colgate/CC and the no goal vs BU would have made it a really great year.by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 St. Lawrence 3 (ot) - 12 years ago
two shots at first next week.. win both or tie/win and union loses to colgate.. I win is probably needed to help the PWR out to keep those hopes alive. wonder what our record would look like if game were only 50 min long?by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Clarkson (pregame) - 12 years ago
if we can get a first round bye he could get almost 4 weeks off.. worth it if it will helpby upprdeck - Hockey

anyone hear if the dude who got clocked and bled all over suffered more than just stiches in his head?by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: league wide streaming package? - 12 years ago
even the only cornell fan might still have interest in games between other opponents especially as the year comes to an end..you cant make money on this type of stuff, but you would think you could do it at a cost that it could be sponsered in a way to make it viable. the more sports you try and cover the more money it loses.. unless they get creative and get students to do the brunt of tby upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Wrestling hosts National Duals regional, Sunday, February 12 - 12 years ago
interesting match. cornell almost came back and stole it.. Looked to me like Dake got hurt though in his match and he struggled thru much of it..by upprdeck - Other Sports
Re: Colgate starting time - 12 years ago
the cost of 14+ games is a little over $15 a game , thats about the price of a movie.. when i first started going it was about $60 a season. I think the tickets are over priced a bit. and in reality when the price starts getting to $20-$25+ a ticket, which is getting close , it may be time to give up season tickets and just go to most games, instead of buying seasons and trying to sell half tby upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Red Cast Really Sucks^2 - 12 years ago
there are costs to doing a good job with the Red cast.. 1) equipment 2) network 3) people. #3 is pretty much set no matter what they do with #1 or #2. #2 is probably the most unknown. cornell has the bandwidth to get the games out to the server company, after that its a variable cost #1 camera equipment is cheap. its a one time expense that should last for multiple seasons. we canby upprdeck - Hockey
Re: CU-CC 3-3 - 12 years ago
it doesnt help that the IVy schools only get to play those games at bad times.. Cornell could start out playing teams like CC that have played 5-10 games or play them coming off a florida trip and 2-3 weeks of nothing.by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Bill Gates Hall > goodbye Hoy Field? - 12 years ago
Hoy field has a shelf life that I am not sure has been published yet but is not far off. It is the prime spot left on campusby upprdeck - Other Sports
Re: CU 3 - CC -1 - 12 years ago
Cornell really did a good job coming up the ice for 2 periods. we cycled the puck and kept control for long stretches. CC is clearly the faster team but the change in play was so abrupt to watch. we could have given up 4 goals in that 3rd period. cornell has been ahead or tied in every 3rd period this year all the losses have been 3rd period related. that is one telling stat unusual for cornellby upprdeck - Hockey
CU 3 - CC -1 - 12 years ago
cornell looked solid for 2 periods.. the third was real sketchy.. Not sure if was all the penalties they took adding up or the altitude but real luck to hang on and get the 3-1 win.. The sloppy clearing passes in the 3rd left them chasing for long stretches.. will have to play much better as CC was much the better in the 3rd..by upprdeck - Hockey
Re: Consecutive shutout minutes at Lynah? - 12 years ago
I really dont think the lack of scoring is related to the lack of solid chances. We probably had 7-10 times where the puck was sitting in the crease and could not get it to go in. we missed 4-5 open nets, we had several the goalie didnt see, rebounds miss sticks as well. we had one land on top of the net just over the crossbar. Clarkson had a few solid chances but it felt like a game where we wby upprdeck - Hockey
