Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - 18 days ago
mike1960 blackwidow Cornell lax primed to be the bottom of the ivy Jordan Stevens has coached some really good defenses, like the 2022 team that went to the title game. I'm sure they'll work hard this week on picking up the ball a little sooner and protecting the topside so they can help the goalie on Sunday. I think the young coaching staff is being found out for who they really are. I thinkby blackwidow - Other Sports

VIEWfromK Jeff Malott is on a tear in the AHL. He has seven goals and four assists in his past seven games including a hat trick last Wednesday against Anthony Angello and Milwaukee. If he were playing for a team in a rebuild phase, he would've gotten some additional NHL games, i feel like. Oh well, he at least has one game under his beltby blackwidow - Hockey

underskill I mean does it really make a difference if they need to win the tourney to qualify for the ncaa anyways Getting the regular season title for once would be nice. Also, i dont care if the team is terrible. It's the arroganceby blackwidow - Other Sports

ugarte Al DeFlorio blackwidow ugarte Earl starts an all-senior lineup including Darius Ervin, Evan Williams and Max Watson. Brown starts on a 7-0 run. I was about to type "nice, but come on this came is important" but Cornell responded with an 8-0 run of their own. As I type, Brown is up 12-8 but they've all been subbed out. Watson has a three. Erving and Williams are 0 for 3 shooting.by blackwidow - Other Sports

Re: MLAX: @Denver 2/24 - 4 weeks ago
Let this be a lesson that Kirst needs to be more selective about his shooting and this team's is defensively garbage and needs some fixing asap if they want to do something meaningful. Whats up with so many turnovers and so few faceoff wins. (I know nothing about lax)by blackwidow - Other Sports

ER Why do people think we can’t win the ECAC tournament? Shafer has been allergic to meaningful hardware since 2010by blackwidow - Hockey

sah67 Jacob MacDonald was profiled by a San Jose fan site as a model for the future of "position-less hockey" due to his versatility in shifting back and forth between forward and defenseman, even during a single game. Lots of good quotes from his coach (David Quinn) on that role as well: JMac placed on waivers today. I pray to God he gets picked up by someone else.by blackwidow - Hockey

osorojo Can't answer a question? Call its author a "bot"- an insect? The question stands by itself: "What are the necessary preconditions for Cornell to create a championship D-1 men's college hockey team?" (Hint - name calling isn't one of them) The only time questions are "disagreeable" is when the respondent is ashamed of or wants to obscure the answer. My questioby blackwidow - Hockey

Re: Cornell @ Quinnipiac , 11/05/22 - 1 year ago
BearLover Iceberg It's only been 4 games but I guess anemic offense will be the theme of this year? Looks very similar to last year’s offense—little talent, bad execution. Benching Donaldson and Bancroft, two of the higher skill guys, was a questionable choice given the team couldn’t set up anything on any of their ample man-up chances. Totally agree on little talent and bad executionby blackwidow - Hockey
Re: Early ratings - 1 year ago
osorojo Current USCH D-1 pairwise ratings have rated the Cornell Men's Varsity hockey team in 61st. place - one ahead of last-place Dartmouth. That's the bad news. The good news is the Cornell men's ice hockey team has nowhere to go but up! Roughly where it belongsby blackwidow - Hockey

Re: 2022-23 Predictions - 1 year ago
abmarks abmarks BearLover They are slated to have 15 draft picks, easily the most in program history and per my quick look-over the most of any team in the NCAAs (and yes, that includes Michigan, BU, BC, Minnesota, etc.). 15? Wow. They'll be fun to watch, especially in the second half of the season, regardless of arch-rival status blah blah CHN has them at 16 picks, not 15, unless there'sby blackwidow - Hockey
