Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: 2019 Achievements (Team and Individual) - 5 years ago
billhoward No All-America forwards since 1987 (Joe Nieuwendyk). Since then for Cornell, four defensemen, six goaltenders. I think that'll change next year.by coz - Hockey
Re: Cornell Departures - 5 years ago
UPDATE: The #Griffins on Thursday signed defenseman Alec McCrea to a one-year contract for the 2019-20 season and assigned goaltender Pat Nagle to the @ToledoWalleye.by coz - Hockey
Re: Providence tickets? - 5 years ago
Got 2 All-session passes for my Dad and myself. I'm feeling optimistic.by coz - Hockey
Re: ECAC Finals: Clarkson vs. Cornell - 5 years ago
marty As mediocre as their play by play crew is, their video production is tops. I saw a black RPI TV tshirt during Friday's game. I'm assuming that the ECAC got the full RPI. Tute each his own. I thought Perry was okay though he did make a few mistakes. It was clearly not the RPI guys on the main camera. Whoever it was had no idea where the puck was at least half the time.by coz - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF Game 1: Union 3 Cornell 2 - 5 years ago
Didn't have a great view of it from my seat but assuming that the Union player wasn't pushed into G, then yeah it was probably text-book. Intent is only important when determining major penalties ie: DQ vs game misconduct. See Priskie's incredibly stupid kick.by coz - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF Game 1: Union 3 Cornell 2 - 5 years ago
I was sitting in J and had a really good view and it was definitely not in. It was agonizingly close though. It felt like it was sitting on the line forever even if it was just 1-2 seconds.by coz - Hockey
Re: Morgan Barron Profile - 5 years ago
TrotskyThanks. What does the 700k number mean, then? Why not $7B? Or 70 cents? From Wikipedia: "Players who earned less than $660,000 in the previous season must be offered 110 percent of last season's salary. Players making up to $1 million must be offered 105 percent. Players making over $1 million must be offered 100 percent." AFAIK it's based on the NHL salary number and theby coz - Hockey
Re: Morgan Barron Profile - 5 years ago
The qualifying offer is not real money. It's way of retaining RFA rights. The current team must extend a "qualifying offer" to a restricted free agent to retain negotiating rights to that player. Qualifying offers are for one year contracts. The minimum salary for the qualifying offer depends on the player's prior year salary. Wilcox is currently making 95k this year and 125k nexby coz - Hockey
Re: CHN Season Preview - 5 years ago
Probably just poorly phrased. Technically May is the offseason though.by coz - Hockey
Re: Grady Whittenburg calling Cornell ESPN+ home games - 5 years ago
upprdeck actually espn insider was the thing you paid for to get "special stuff" it was also free if you got the magazine. now they took that perk away and made you pay for both to get both things. but this espn+ is better than insider if you want to watch some sports that the watchespn nver showed.. for cornell fans espn+ is a way better deal than the ivy league thing and you cby coz - Hockey
Re: Grady Whittenburg calling Cornell ESPN+ home games - 5 years ago
ugarteI think ESPN+ is their online subscription service, as opposed to WatchESPN, which is the stuff that you can see with a cable subscriber login. That is correct. They basically replaced ESPN Insider with ESPN+ as well so if you had that you'll have this.by coz - Hockey

Re: Baseless Speculation - 5 years ago
Yeah it's not great but again just thought it was interesting that they were even bringing Schafer up.by coz - Hockey
Re: Baseless Speculation - 5 years ago
I wasn't sure where to put this but since this thread is about Schafer this will work. Has him listed with Hastings, Bazin, and Jackson as among the best options to go from college to pros. I doubt he'd leave but it was interesting.by coz - Hockey
Re: Adoration of Schafer from The Sun - 6 years ago
I just have trouble with calling Schafer the greatest coach in Cornell history. Titles matter and Harkness had 2 even if he was only here for 7 years.by coz - Hockey

Anybody know which schools sections are which? Trying to buy and the only lowerbowl section I can do is 120.by coz - Hockey
Re: Canisius 12/30 - 6 years ago
That Barron Yates Cam line was so good I'm pretty sure I saw them getting double shifted in the 3rd to get Yates the hatty. Barron could've had one himself in just the last 10 mins with the chances that line generated.by coz - Hockey
