Re: Ticket Procedure Posted - 16 years ago
While I think that's a great idea, I think the athletic office would worry that it might discourage season ticket sales, thereby reducing its guaranteed income. Their bottom line is grounded in facetimers. I'm almost positive season tickets did not sell out last year, too. It also would require far more logistical planning than the office is willing to put in. Seeing as the current line isby amerks127 - Hockey
Ryan O'Byrne Wins Calder Cup - 16 years ago
For those who follow the AHL, I just got home from Hamilton where Ryan O'Byrne and the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Hershey Bears in 5 games to capture that AHL Championship, the Calder Cup. O'Byrne had a great run in the playoffs, playing every game with 2-5-7 (one goal of which came against the Amerks) and an impressive +12. I wouldn't be shocked if he saw more ice time with Montreal neby amerks127 - Hockey

Can't say I agree with much of what you said in that post. To begin with your sarcasm and ridiculous accusations of nepotism within the organization clearly point to you being more interested in pissing people off than actually talking hockey. Next, just because certain freshman didn't put up lots of points this season (read: Milo) doesn't mean that their contributions weren't seen in other aby amerks127 - Hockey

He was game time Friday night. Tonight his injury kept him from dressing. Lower back or body I heard, not really sure. It had nothing to do with leadership capabilities...in case anyone was wondering,by amerks127 - Hockey

McCutcheon and Kennedy were without question the hardest working players on the ice this weekend. They were all over the place killing penalties and making things happen offensively. Mugford's line in general was the strongest, especially in game one (unlike some other lines) showing they truly understood the magnitude of this weekend. I question taking Salmela off the powerplay the last tby amerks127 - Hockey
Re: OT: Penguins Moving - 17 years ago
You really can't blame Rendall, nor can the currently elected Pittsburgh officials be blamed. What we have here are the culmination of events, at least 15 years in the making. Other than the NYC area teams (New Jersey is building the New Jersey Performing Arts Center),and Detroit, Edmonton, Calgary and Anaheim (1993),every NHL city has an arena that opened no earlier than 1996. I agree with eblimes 100%. That kind of information is definitely private. If it wasn't, I'm sure people would've known by now.by amerks127 - Hockey
Romano in The Hockey News - 17 years ago
The Hockey News February 27, 2007 U.S. College Report Eastern College Report "Romano refutes doubts, leads Cornell in goals" by Tom Boggie It's time for critics to stop looking for a chink in Tony Romano's armor. First, there was the knock about his size. When the New Jersey Devils drafted him in the sixth round last June, Cornell's freshman center was listed at 5-foot-10,by amerks127 - Hockey
