Re: NCAA regionals in Springfield - 21 days ago
I had to wait until late today for confirmation on whether some friends could go. When I ordered tickets, there were only fairly small sections of seats in the upper bowl available. Will it really be that full with Denver playing us?by cth95 - Hockey

Re: NCAA Round 1 - Maine - 21 days ago
VIEWfromK Even on tv I still noticed how passive the Maine defenders were. I saw multiple times where their guys just seemed to cower and allow a Big Red player the space to make a play. In one of the articles I read on CHN or USCHO, Mack or Penny said they were surprised how much room they had. They just took advantage of it and let the shot fly.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Round 1 - Maine - 22 days ago
What a great time to put everything together. After Maine's goal, it seemed like our guys never left anyone open again, blocked every passing lane, and swept away every rebound and loose puck near the net. Despite winning the ECAC title last weekend, this was a much more consistent, cleaner performance. Particularly compared to early in the Dartmouth game.by cth95 - Hockey

I was a dairy farmer and always worked when I was sick. If I was Boija, I would want to play. The difference is, I was helping people by getting my chores done so they didn't have to do extra work. On a team in an important game, you would be hurting your teammates if you tired quickly and your reflexes were slower than normal. As a goalie, a split second can be the difference between a greatby cth95 - Hockey

Announcers said Boija is sick. They also said Ostman started 17 of the first 19 games. Sounds like Boija got the hot hand and took over.by cth95 - Hockey

Thank you for the great info. Don't forget skiing at Whiteface during the day. With the snow predicted this weekend, take advantage of it. I don't know if any practice or events are going on, but the ski jumps and Mt. Van Hoevenberg, the location for the bobsled and luge tracks and cross country ski trails, are all just east of town on Rte 73. Along with the big mountains, there are also maby cth95 - Hockey

As a Bruins fan, not great timing for me, but Malinski scored his 2nd career goal on a nice shot through traffic from the point to put Colorado up 3-2 near the end of the 2nd.by cth95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell football coach - 5 months ago
BearLover It needs to be stated that almost no one attends games at even the successful Ivy programs—they have very few fans in general and the students don’t care at all. I don't watch a lot of Ivy or even any college football in general, but I happened to watch Yale at Princeton while flipping through the channels yesterday. If the stadium was 1/3 full, I would be surprised. Apparently weby cth95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Hockey Jerseys? - 5 months ago
Jordan 04 ugarte Trotsky They strip the names and numbers off which sucks.Back then it was just names that came off. I chose #2 for Ratushny but you can tell from the size of the ghost of the old nameplate in the removed stitching that it had been Travis Bell's Heh - I have a #6 for Murray but alas, it is an Evan Salmela jersey. I have an away #1 goalie jersey which I wear to play goal in beeby cth95 - Hockey

Thank you for the updates. Very impressive results. As someone who rowed as a freshman but had to work during my subsequent years on the hill, it is nice to hear about the team.by cth95 - Other Sports

The NoDak forum is all over their goalie. Apparently he is a 5th year senior transfer with great numbers at Bemidji last year, but has one of the lowest save percentages in the nation this year. They feel if he plays again tonight, the coaches must have zero faith in their backups.by cth95 - Hockey

Maybe they were TA's together. They may have also been friends. I know Maas knew him and worked with him in some manner, because he told the class. It seems it was when Maas was a professor, so they may have stayed in touch. I just can't remember the specifics.by cth95 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Cornell on TV - 3 years ago
James Moss, the awesome Psych 101 professor and nationally renowned sleep researcher, talked about Harry often and also used his music to teach. "Flowers are Red" is a powerful example of how a set-in-their-way adult can completely stifle a kid's creativity. Moss knew Harry well. Harry worked for him, studied with him, or at least was a TA for him. I can't remember exactly.by cth95 - John Spencer Is Dead

Re: Corona Virus And Playoff Games - 4 years ago
This is getting ridiculous. The annual charity tournament I was supposed to play in this weekend consisting of local pick-up hockey players like myself just got cancelled. I'm sure the dense population around Middlebury, VT is a real hotbed for risk. We play at the public rink, not the college. I also just saw Middlebury College has not only cancelled classes like Cornell, they have also caby cth95 - Hockey
