Re: Lynah East and/or Dartmouth Roll Call - 17 years ago
We're in 14, but 9 IS a good spot. Particularly if you want to haggle the Sucks band. But you typically have to sit.by DevilDerby - Hockey

I'm in for the East, not the Green. Loud guy; you, me, John Harvard's, and as many pitchers as we can stand. ddby DevilDerby - Hockey

I'm there at both. Bringing one at Union, and 3 to RPI.by DevilDerby - Hockey
Re: Capital District games this weekend - 17 years ago
I'll take your word about the last row. But there always seems to be plenty of 'milling about' in front of the end section and in the pathways between it and the Troylets. Just be sure to not get in the way of the flag runner; they don't seem to like that.by DevilDerby - Hockey

Re: Albany Sign Ideas - 18 years ago
I still have the Lynah Middle East sheet from last year. If the seating is arranged so that the Stters are closer to the ice than the Standers, the first standing row could hold the sheet. Well, hold it or somehow attach it to their clothing. That should get around the main problem the users had with it last year, right Mike? I remember the main problem was the fact it was going to be free-standiby DevilDerby - Hockey
Re: Albany tickets in the Cornell section - 18 years ago
But unless you can get the ushers on your side, you're usually stuck capitulating to these people. Rare, but has happened. Watching the Jerks realize that even the neutral ushers think they are jerks and they can't go crying to them is priceless.by DevilDerby - Hockey
Re: parking? - 18 years ago
There are two parking areas, not quite downtown, but close enough for a car. One is next to the NYSMuseum on Madison Ave. It holds about 100 cars and you should be good all weekend. The second is off of the I787 Empire State Plaza exit. It is a freestanding parking garage, called "V2" that also should be open all weekend. Unlike the places closer to the Pepsi. ddby DevilDerby - Hockey

Jillians also has a little-known and randomly-enforced policy on baggy clothes. On two seperate occasions I have not been allowed in because, I s#it you not, my jeans were too large. At the exact same times, there were at least 50 Cornell fans inside in jerseys that don't fit too well without pads. If we don't like Jillians, the Big House is another block down on the left. It was recently redby DevilDerby - Hockey

Gonna be there with the Rural Wisconsin Singles Club. Both games. FYI: At the I-90 East/ 787 North exchange, there is a billboard to the right advertising for the ECAC games. On which one of our guys figure prominently, couldn't look at his arm number though, doing 70. see ya devilderbyby DevilDerby - Hockey
Re: Albany for final weekend of the regular season - 18 years ago
RIP's rink is huge and will not sell-out. However, as I remember the Cornell section is the smallest, at the absolute end of the rink. So the worst fear would ot have to sit with Troylets. Union, is smaller, but they usually dont sell out either.by DevilDerby - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey on Conan O'Brien - 18 years ago
I just caught it. Imagine my surprise getting ready for sleep and seeing the red on tv. I actually did a double take. Could've told Conan he was the best thing to come out of Boston though. Very nice, DDby DevilDerby - Hockey
Re: Harvard's 1 fan - 18 years ago
I know it is newspaper practice to describe where each person is when you name the people in a given picture. But are Hahvahd's fans/students so nonexistent/stupid that they can't figure out which player (of two) is "Harvard senior forward Charlie Johnson"? -DDby DevilDerby - Hockey

I know this thread is dead but-- About the talk of W.O.I. leaving the Wings family: The Wings Over Albany also have just changed their name to WingZ. I believe that it is a franchise-wide decision to re-hip, extreme-ize, same money on ink printing "Wings Over ..." everything, or whatever. I overheard the counter guy at my place and he said that they still get everything from the samby DevilDerby - Hockey

Re: the next question: what to do in Albany? - 19 years ago
Here's a few more: For food: There's a real cool place off of 15th St. in Troy, called Ali Baba's. 15th is right off of Rt.7 on the way to Plum Blossom. It's focus is on mediteranian/Turkish food. I usuly get the durum kabob, which is spiced beef wrapped in a large pita(basically) with tahini sauce. And it's only $6. Trust me, you can barely move after eating this thing. Two cool things aboutby DevilDerby - Hockey
