Re: Cornell on TV and internet, redone 3/21 - 16 years ago
It is nice the NHL network picked up the games. Now I can only hope that the picture is truly in HD.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Wisconsin postgame thread (post-season thread?) NCAA quarterfinals 2006 - 18 years ago
Great game This game was a little hard to take since it went 3ots. Hopefully none of the non-seniors leave, but I have a feeling we can see Pok, McKee, and OB leaving. The little I read it seems that our incoming freshmen are pretty good. Does anyone know who we are playing next year? Also where are we going to play games while Lynah gets renovated?by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: CU-UW pre-game - 18 years ago
From the Post Game thread. Now onto Wisconsin. From what I heard Wisconsin plays a similar style of play to us. Wisconsin plays the trap, and waits for errand passes and capitilizes on the other teams mistakes. Wisconsin will be a hard team to comeback on, so I think scoring first is critical for our success tomorrow. I knew Wisconsin gets better recruits, but I don't know how long they have bby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: POST GAME CORNELL 3-2 COLORADO COLLEGE - 18 years ago
This was a nice win. CU and CC have contrasting styles and usually the defensive team wins. I knew the CC PP would give our PKers trouble. Sertich and Sterling are to good of players to allow the kind of room they get on the PP. This showed up with Sertich? getting 2 assists and Sterling had one too. This game, we minimized our dumb penalties, after the 1st, and we took the game to CC. CC sby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Colorado College 2 (3rd period) - 18 years ago
We didnt need that icingby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 Colorado College 2 (2nd period) - 18 years ago
Looks like we are tiring them down. I think this bodes well for us for the rest of the gameby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 Colorado College 2 (2nd period) - 18 years ago
Finally we are picking up our playby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 Colorado College 2 (2nd period) - 18 years ago
Score here we got a game, dont I think our inept offense is going to catch up with usby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 Colorado College 2 (end 1st period) - 18 years ago
We still got 2 periods, plenty of time to get back into it. If we can get to the front of their net, I would imagine we will get several PPs.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 Colorado College 1 (1st period) - 18 years ago
CC has probably the best PP in the country. You had to know not to take penalties going into this we could not take penaltiesby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Time to root for ECAC/IVY - 18 years ago
I think Harvard has a pretty favorable draw, but I am rooting for MSU to make the Frozen Four.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: 2006 Pairwise Comparisons Projections: the Final Stretch! - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81 Just sucks that Harvard is #7, and can't seem to even lose the two seed - and definitely not the tournament. Here you go Harvard ends up 15th and out of the tourney * CCHA Semifinal #2: Michigan State defeats Michigan. * CCHA Semifinal #1: Northern Michigan defeats Miami. * CCHA Championship game: Northern Michigan defeats Michigan State. * CCHA Consolationby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: 2005-2006 PWR - playoffs edition! - 18 years ago
Can we pull Clarkson RPI up enough if we win the ECACs to make them a TUC. RPI is based on 25% winning percentage, 50% opponent winning percentage, and 25% opponent-opponent winning percentage. Since we have played Clarkson 4 times, we might be able to pull them up the 0.0003 points to make them a TUC.by TCHL8842 - Hockey

Well I like the spot we are in now, 2 weekends in Albany wont be that badby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2, Union 1, start of 3rd - 18 years ago
Well Gate won, sucks that we are not going to win the RS title. This may help us though on the NCAA tourney since RPI does not become a TUCby TCHL8842 - Hockey

Bitz is OBs or Pokulaks spot. We dont have many options right now though.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Anyone watching CAN/SWE women's hockey game now? (OT, but deals w/ IVY league hockey) - 18 years ago
Trotsky I would not necessarily compare the womens team to the ECAC men teams. The US Team this fall I heard lost to one of the elite MN HS hockey teams. I will agree that the game as improved tremendously.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 Clarkson 3 - 18 years ago
Well the good news, the loss didn't kill us in the PWR rankings as of now. We moved down to number 10 and Clarkson moves into a TUC without checking all the comparisons a loss by Clarkson tomorrow should improve our TUC record and probably gain one comparison back.by TCHL8842 - Hockey

Well you can always either change your MAC address or forward it to a site that then forwards it to the actual site changing your ip address.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: 2005-2006 PWR - 18 years ago
Just at a quick glance, I think we have the best TUC record in the PWR ranking. All we got to do is keep on winning and the RPI should slowly improve. Also if you add the game versus RIT, we are tied for the best record in the nation.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Out of Conference games - 18 years ago
I think we should schedule better OOC teams since it seems to kill us every year. We would of had a better draw last year if we schedule better OOCs and this year it seems we are a bubble team because of OOC. It should not be hard to schedule at least one HE and one CCHA or WCHA opponent each year besides Florida but we never seem to do it. This disappoints me because this kills our PWR rankinby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 Yale 2 - 18 years ago
I think OB got an concussion on that hit he took. Hopefully, it is not that bad since he skated off the ice under his own influence. I think Cornell gave this game away. The third period was absolutely shit hockey, they did not attack at all. In result, they gave up the tieing goal, which even though the barlow situation should of been a penalty I think we deserved to let one up since we saby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Hansen Article - 18 years ago
I think all we can hope is that Dave refs a better game this year. Last nights game , I noticed him not calling blatant calls. The penalty after the 3rd Brown goal was a make-up call. Since we had control of the book for the majority of the game, there were obviously more missed Brown infractions, but both teams at points in the game took advantage of this.by TCHL8842 - Hockey

Interesting that the newest brackets on USCHO has us as #8 playing #9 MSU.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell postgame thread (2/21/06) - 18 years ago
Wow I just found out how volatile the Pwr and RPI rankings are right now. The two wins this weekend moved us up from 27 to 12 in the RPI, I think that this rise caused our PWR to rise so much. If you look closely the PWR rankings are generally close to the RPI ranking since RPI is a category in the PWR and also the tie-breaker. Next weekend looks likes will bring our RPI back down though. Re: 2005-2006 PWR - 18 years ago
Well the tie breaker on even comparisons is RPI and currently we are currently 21 in this ranking. With a better RPI even though I have not looked at it closely I think we would take another 5-6 comparisons. This weekend is just as big of a weekend as the MSU weekend. If we play as well as we seem them play in stretches, our spot in the PWR ranking will be significantly higher.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: 2005-2006 PWR - 18 years ago
Well I think 2 wins against SLU will really help, they are currently number 3 in the PWR ranking. Winning against SLU alone will significantly boost our RPI. Of the ECAC teams with a better RPI then us, it is only Harvard and SLU. For some reason, I think the 2 weekends against the North Country and the Harvard game will determine if we make it in or not. If we sweep those 5 games, I think weby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: 2006-7 Schedule - 18 years ago
I think the problem of scheduling HE teams lies within most HE teams usually already have ECAC teams that they play year in-year out. Harvard plays in the Beanpot which takes up 2 games of BC, BU, and NE. This leaves each team with up to 8 NC games left of which 2 are usually taken up by holiday tournament leaving 6 games. Of those 6 games BC and BU usually have a series against a WCHA teamby TCHL8842 - Hockey
Re: 12-12 Polls - 18 years ago
I just want to note for everyone here that we currently have a record of 4-1 against TUC teams. If we can keep this percentage up and raise our RPI a little bit, we should be a lock for a decent seed in the tourney. Our TUC record is second best right now to only Wisconsin, I find this very impressive since I dont think we have played to our full potential by any means this year.by TCHL8842 - Hockey
