At the request of fellow Cornell Hockey fans – TAC is pleased to offer the following option for those of you who would like to attend the ECAC hockey games: • You can depart Tompkins County Airport in Ithaca NY and arrive in Atlantic City in 45 Minutes. (For comparison – Google maps has the drive posted at 292 miles or 5 hours and 13 minutes each way). • Our select group of hockey fansby Harrier - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 Brown 5 postgame thread - 17 years ago
Greening looks as strong on his skates as anyone on this team or opposing teams at Lynah this year. Maybe you don't see it because he is not as prone to taking runs at people as Sawada is, but this guy keeps his feet in the corners, and in traffic, and can be as physical as anyone out there. He looks like Hynes.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Some new Schafer comments (USCHO weekly column) - 17 years ago
Some of the identity crisis comes from the players on the ice, not from behind the bench. Safe to say that the execution or at times lack thereof may not be wholly Schaf's design or personnel flaw - but partly poor execution on the ice by the players. He has obviously demonstrated both the abitity to have great special teams, teach, and correct chemistry problems. Let's hope we see evidence beby Harrier - Hockey
Re: Some new Schafer comments (USCHO weekly column) - 17 years ago
I would like to see him let Greening run in Bitz's spot for a game and see what happens. Seems like the guys on the ice (not the bench) try and run too much of the PP through the Captain - which is understandable being that they are young and relatively inexperienced. Greening can be a beast down low and play Bitzy's puck control game along the boards - but may also be a bit more dynamic offensby Harrier - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Sacred Heart Postgame - 17 years ago
Scott was every bit as absent as Bitz or moreso. His usual knack of winning battles for the puck in the corners and in traffic (despite being obviously outsized) was not there. When he wins those loose pucks and curls off the boards it generates space and offense for his line. It was not happening Saturday. His usual ability to find the open man was also below par - maybe partly due to fewerby Harrier - Hockey
Re: What's the word on Moulson? - 17 years ago
Hey is this still considered Pond Hockey Ari? I think we need to temper all of Moulson's accomplishments at all levels until Ari declares he is not playing "pond hockey games".by Harrier - Hockey
Re: What's the word on Moulson? - 17 years ago
By the same Logic, I guess McCutcheon of 2 years ago will never crack the Cornell lineup.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: What's the word on Moulson? - 17 years ago
Moulson had another 2 goals Tuesday night in a 4-3 win. Ari are you convinced for some reason that he can't continue his development?? Are you planning on knowing everything you are ever going to know when you leave school-or are you going to continue development- much like Moulson will. He can be an AHL star right now and will continue to get better. So casting him as a never make the NHL prby Harrier - Hockey
Re: What's the word on Moulson? - 17 years ago
He likely would have made the Pens...he has an outside shot at the Kings by the end of the year. All it takes is one interview and Avery could be cut, and an injury and Matt could be knocking on the NHL door.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - AUGUST 2006 - 17 years ago
Moulson is an unrestriceted free agentby Harrier - Hockey
Re: price of tickets keep going up !!!!! - 17 years ago
They should be increased to the current levels. I takes a lot of $$ and effort to get a program where Cornell's is. I bet almost any program in the country would gladly raise their ticket prices beyond the current Lynah increase if it helped to insure the type of success we all have enjoyed under Schafer's tenure.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Sasha Pokulok signs with the Capitals - 17 years ago
This conversation is as unimportant to everyone on a hockey board as it is irrelevant to Sasha going pro. Go to some geek corner of myspace or someonepleasenoticeme.com unless you are talking about hockey, preferrably Cornell hockey.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros JULY '06 - 17 years ago
Ottawa Senators general manager John Muckler announced today the signing of another three prospects. The club signed one-year deals with defenseman Charlie Cook, and forwards Andrew Ebbett and Ryan Vesce.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Sasha Pokulok signs with the Capitals - 17 years ago
You'll probably see him in Hershey...for a long time. Physically and mentally this guy isn't ready to lead a college team, or cut it in the NHL.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros MAY '05 - 18 years ago
That team would be rudderless without Joe. Can't see him hanging them up healthy and so productive.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros MAY '05 - 18 years ago
why would he retire? He was awesome in the second half, healthy again, and making good $$ next year...by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard ECAC title post-game thread - 18 years ago
When you get beat to the puck consistently, like CU did against Harvard, the other team will get the calls 100 percent of the time. It is really that simple. You can't dissect every call - the calls will go against you just as quickly as they aften go for you when you are dominating in the offensive zone. Everyone should hope for Chris Abbott and the checking line return this weekend...if noby Harrier - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ RPI postgame - 18 years ago
I honestly think the key to getting the offense going is whover plays opposite Moulson on the first line. If anyone can step into that spot and be a finisher they have a TON of chances because, obviously, every team is successfully smothering Moulson this year and he is clearly frustrated. If there were only somone who could step up on that off wing and make the opposing teams pay-we could cashby Harrier - Hockey

Re: CU - tUMD postgame - 18 years ago
Is anyone else scratching their heads at the shootout selection?? OB? Carefoot? How about Moulson, Abbott, Abbott, McCutcheon, and Barlow? May have not come down to the last shot if they threw that group out first.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5, Niagara 4 (Post-game Thread) - 18 years ago
People know that Ray (Ray train) is coming and dish it before he can get a hit in. Mugford is getting some physical play in, funny that despite his stature - Barlow is always trying to bang out there -gritty guy with offensive skill.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5, Niagara 4 (Post-game Thread) - 18 years ago
This team needs to Challenge themselves to grind their opponents into submission on every inch of the ice - they way the recent successful team have been doing. It looks like a team wide thing with a few consistent bright spots...namely McCutcheon all year, Carefoot all year, usually Pegs, and flashes of brilliance from some of the Freshmen - though still developing and not without the breakdownby Harrier - Hockey
Re: 11/21 Polls/Rankings - 18 years ago
I miss the ranking of the top 10 collegiate hockey teams. Lets face it - this is not basketball where there are a million programs. I put a fair amount of faith in their ability to rank the top 10 teams...when you get to the 15 and 20 top programs in hockey you are getting to the middle-of-the-road teams in the college hockey landscape and lots more subjectivity...not to mention the mediocrityby Harrier - Hockey
Re: RPI 1 @ Cornell 1 11/19 Postgame - 18 years ago
On the goal, yes it was coughed up down low...but the cardinal rule for the G is to cover the near post..didn't happen and goal scored. From that angle that goal can't go in. Other than that Mckee looked good. Seminoff was probably the best D on the ice except the elbow to the head. The boarding call was a wuss call. This team looks like it is expecting things to happen for them on the iceby Harrier - Hockey
Re: lines this weekend? - 18 years ago
Ari that is exactly the line combination I suggested above: "Carefoot would be a good fit with Moulson and Bitz. He cycles better down low and brings that part of what we are missing with Hynes' departure. Abbott, Abbott, Sawada has always been awesome. You can see the "oh shit" in the other team's faces every time they hit the ice. The just outwork and outhit together.by Harrier - Hockey

Re: Status of Footer & Pegs? - 18 years ago
the kid drove pegs' face into the boards dasher with his full weight behind it. Pegs had just mishandled the penalty shot cut towards the boards and was turning up Ice near the hashmark. He deserved the 5 and 10. The blood likely induced the DQ. It was definitely a cheap shot and the puck was not there anymore anyway.by Harrier - Hockey

the guy who ponied up the dough for the arena specifically laid out that they cannot for any reason change the "Fighting Sioux" or the logo.by Harrier - Hockey
Re: Your line-up for next year - 18 years ago
Scott first line wing? Powerplay yes, but no way replacing Hynes on the first line. Didn't you also say all year that Bitz could not play center? Until somebody can stop the current first line they will stay together. Hynes also protects and creates space for Moulson, put Scott out there and Moulson takes tons of abuse he does not get with Hynes on the wing.by Harrier - Hockey
