"That great old barn in Ithaca, Linaw Arena". I love it when a person is trying to act like they know something then butchers the pronunciation & ebd up looking stupidby redice - Hockey
Re: Opponents and Others 2023-24 - 30 days ago
billhoward The smaller cities and smaller arenas may be hungrier for the NCAA's business. Springfield MA is an 8,000-seat arena and Midwest regional site Centene Community Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri , I believe the largest of their four rinks is 3,500. Syracuse, Binghamton and Glens Falls and have 4,000+ and could bid for NCAA hockey regionals. Or Lake Placid. Don't forget Elmira...by redice - Hockey

jtwcornell91 Scersk '97 Jeff Hopkins '82 Scersk '97 Loved the moment deep in the third where our guys pinned it against the wall in the Dartmouth end for a good 45 seconds. Old time hockey. Except in the old days they would have whistled it dead after 15 seconds. Ehhh, depends on how old time we're talking. I remember quite a few scrums during my undergrad and early alum days that were let toby redice - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 4 weeks ago
BearLover Can someone explain what the problem with Albany was? If you live in the tri-state area it is easily accessible. Lake Placid is not. Many more fans would be able to attend the games if it were held in a more central location like Albany. Was Albany attendance not higher than Lake Placid? Personally, I’m probably never making it up to Lake Placid, but Albany would be easy for me and I’dby redice - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 4 weeks ago
Al DeFlorio Jeff Hopkins '82 I keep hoping we find some place better than LP, but sadly, I think there's not really a better option. But personally, I'm thinking Albany was better than here. Agree +1by redice - Hockey
Re: Harvard @ Cornell Saturday - 5 weeks ago
RichH adamw David Harding imafrshmn sah67 Iceberg I can tell you that ~15 years ago when I was a student, there was no such entry onto the ice after games and there was virtually no opportunity to interact with the players unless you were classmates, working with the team in a media capacity, or socially acquainted. During my undergrad days (a few years before yours), there was an annual “Skaby redice - Hockey

BearLover VIEWfromK Trotsky Play our game, stay outta the box. Back. At. The GRIND. There continues to be a complete dedication to earning the puck in every zone from the bottom of the lineup to the top. There might have been one legitimate hit last night (Bancroft leveling that guy behind the net) but they use their strength and size to take advantage of every situation. Trotsky arugula Whcu coming though again.Yup. But I assume it's a problem with the rink cabling. They're (outgoing) internet is down. Looks like I'll have to tolerate the ESPN+ announcers. UGH!!by redice - Hockey

marty As someone who can't stand constant blabbermouth sports speak, I'm fine with Tim only talking about the plays he thinks are interesting. Agreed!! I've hit the mute button to silence these people, especially in the NFL....It makes me crazy!!by redice - Hockey

marty nshapiro Anyone else having problems getting WHCU to play? Get out your antenna. It's on the air but not streaming. A REALLY long antenna for 870khz... Good luck with that.by redice - Hockey

scoop85 scoop85 At 8:40 ET, I’m on the Pac12 Insider on the Roku channel. Watching a replay of a basketball game. Cautiously optimistic that our game will follow. Yep, game is live on the Roku channel, which is channel 325 on that platform I found the game on that platform . But, it was channel 235by redice - Hockey

George64 ’71, BS CALS ’72—Kevin C. Pettit of Dawson Creek, BC, and Rincón de Guayabitos, Mexico, February 23, 2023; ice hockey left wing in professional, recreational, and senior leagues; member of the 1969–70 undefeated Cornell hockey NCAA championship team; avid sportsman; enjoyed golf, swimming, bowling, hiking, telling stories, and talking about geography It was such fun to watch him kicby redice - Hockey

RichH Iceberg Trotsky They can yell "HARDER!" again, that's nice. Was he playing around the time "We want Weder" became a thing or am I off by a few years? He’s Colgate class of ‘97, and the Weder series was March ‘96. I certainly remember shouting “Hit Harder harder!” Amazing he’s still Colgate’s leading career scorer, considering 1) that was the era of lowest offenby redice - Hockey
Re: Season Tickets (now with booze?) - 11 months ago
upprdeck been this way for awhile.. The Box seating is at best 50% full much of the time. you do get people to go get your food for you. The Premier is being used but to me its the worst seat in the building unless drinking is the real aim. I have had season tickets for almost 40 yrs but thinking its time to be done with seasons.. kids are gone, dont need 2 any more and barely make half tby redice - Hockey

BearLover BearLover scoop85 Someone should make sure Bearlover doesn’t have access to sharp objects. Seeing our rivals win national championships over and over before we even come close is painful, but it actually hurts less every time. To expand on this, I think the biggest reason this doesn’t hurt as much as it used to is that the biggest sports fandom disappointment I could ever imagine—the 20by redice - Hockey

Re: B1G first round dominance - 1 year ago
RichH TimV Interesting that in hoops, no B1G got to the Elite Eight and only one got to the Sweet Sixteen. Too bad Princeton wasn't just a little better shooting. I don’t find that interesting at all, and unrelated. Aren’t there hundreds of teams in that other tournament by now? The interesting bit is the fragmentation/personalization of news sources can finally allow me to completely ignoreby redice - Hockey

Troyfan Iceberg Trotsky Iceberg Yale also leading at Merrimack 3-1 well into the 3rd. That would be a huge upset to the benefit of the rest of the ECACMerrimack 2 third period goals, now 3-3. billhoward dag14 I am pretty sure that Dick Bertrand was ineligible for the post-season games because he had turned 26, the age at which one was considered too old to play, rather than an arbitrary distinction between RS and playoffs. I remember hosting freshmen players for Canadian Thanksgiving in the 80's and serving them beer because they were all 21. At least the Canadian freshmen were. It'sby redice - Hockey
