Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Schafer Suspended One Game - 20 years ago
Well.. Think Schafer's getting the moral thumbs up from most hockey folks. INCH columnist gave him a stick salute in this week's ECAC notebook for "taking one for the team" and the "timing of the rant was well calculated".by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Non-Students in the Student Section - 20 years ago
The fact that cowbell guy hasn't even said anything and has people whom he knows and doesn't know personally jump to his defence says alot. It's just ridiculous to attack someone who has obviously done his integral part as a member of the faithful. I can understand your frustration for not getting tickets.. but there could've been a million people you can blame for this. Not too many people wouldby rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Suggestion - 20 years ago
Dave.. like you said.. This would make Elynah kinda exclusive. Sure, people who've been around would sign up for it. But it'd kinda discourage new faithful from joining.. possibly just due to the hassle and nothing more. What's gonna stop what's his face from getting another email address anyway? Some things will just have to run their full course imho.by rsafploc 03 - Hockey

Re: Why CowbellGuy is the Coolest Guy in the World - 20 years ago
Makes me wonder sometimes if facetimer is actually just a randomly rude computer program, whose only reason for existence is to generate randomly rude remarks... But he does seem capable of independent thoughts. (ie: defending the kid we call Mike & throwing snappers at Dov) Most interesting...by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: FISH - 20 years ago
Do people generally throw Big Red gum at our players (or, rather, just on the ice when our boys skate onto foreign ice)? Gah! NO!!! Now someone from XXX school will use this brilliant creative Lynah faithful inspired idea on our own precious players! NOOOOO!!! *resounding echo fades into absolute silence* Post Edited (12-11-03 11:56)by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 vs. Harvard (sucks) 0 FINAL - 20 years ago
Given that BU lost their only game this weekend, while Notre Dame was swept by WMU, we should be making another apperance in the top 15. All I care about was that we played good solid hockey this week. Great weekend.by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Kid who disses our team - 20 years ago
At least you guys weren't at the top of B, where there was this kid who kept screaming at our players and said that they sucked whenever they slipped up. He didn't spare McKee too.. It's true that McKee didn't look sharp last night. But this kid kept going on as if he could step on the ice and kick some butt. Most intolerable.. I tried staring at him but he was just too self absorbed in his harshby rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Brown 3 Cornell 3 Final OT - 20 years ago
Hah.. Danus... Was that what people were trying to call him tonight? I thought almost the whole of Lynah was just misinformed and/or conforming.by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Brown 3 Cornell 3 Final OT - 20 years ago
Even though I STAND in B and was supposed to get a great look at it. I wasn't concentrating too well. But it was great that Murphy called it. 2 posts in one night. One called a goal.. that's pretty ok. But am I glad that we had a GREAT checking game going tonight. Bitz and O'Byrne were hitting alot more and really hard too tonight. We even managed to keep the puck in Brown's defensive zoneby rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Drumroll, Please - 20 years ago
Did anyone else notice the "another sweet save" animation on the brown hockey website? I found it really really funny.. cos it's so ghetto! But at the same time I felt a strange sense of admiration for this crappy animation.. can't put in down in words though. Hmm.. Courtesy of Crodge2K:by rsafploc 03 - Hockey

Re: Defending Mike Rosenberg - 20 years ago
Alright alright.. Now at least I know who Mike is in the rink. And by all accounts.. he was on FIRE at the Mercyhurst game. No doubt he has been one of the more creative faithful at games this season. But Mercyhurst was his standout game for SURE. Anyway.. I can see why Greg Berge had such a reaction. Cause it seems like such a "No really.. We're better than you sub-standard living organismby rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Keys in a one-goal game - 20 years ago
A strange thought came to my mind.. I wonder how some of those key jinglers felt after we got scored upon.. Man.. I hope they at least realize at that point that whatever they were doing wasn't the least bit appropriate at all..by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: "shoot the puck!" - 20 years ago
I have an axe to grind with those who are trying to be the "remote control power play guys" as well as the morons who shook em keys. It's just crazy how just a few uneducated fans or non fans can stand out so badly in a game. How HC is a regular poster and constantly makes such strange comments too is beyond me..by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Bowling Green 1 @ Cornell 1 - 20 years ago
I really wouldn't agree that he had made a bad call regarding that breakaway. Given that the BG forward got to the puck near the blueline.. if McKee were to race for it.. He'd prolly have won it. But there would've been no doubt that he'd have been taken out by that forward faraway from his net where he should be. The puck would've been poked into the neutral zone. And BG was in the midst of a liby rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell alumni in the pros - 20 years ago
Afraid that CU goalie matchup won't be possible. Underhill got dropped from Manchester bout a week ago. The other temp goalie was just on fire for Manchester. Sure's great that Doug finally got his first AHL goal though.by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Bowling Green 1 @ Cornell 1 - 20 years ago
Was it just me or did it seem like BGSU took out our knees a bunch? I can think of three instances off of the top of my head where it looked like the stuck out a knee or dove into our knees. Yikes! Wasn't just you adam.. I was cringing alot whenever it looked like a knee on knee clash.. I haven't seen those for a while already... and they were always "initiated" by the bg players. Re: Ivy League booze? - 20 years ago
Shake well with ice (preferably from the Lynah zamboni) and strain into glass While I totally respect our sacred home ice.. Drinking it.. spit and sweat inclusive.. is a whole different health issue altogether.by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 at St. Lawrence 1, FINAL - 20 years ago
McKee is definitely looking much better now than over the WMU weekend. Which is only good news for us.. Cause it really shows that he's settling down. Letting 3 goals in a weekend at North Country is pretty darned good if you asked me. I guess the second goal against us at Clarkson was partly due to him letting the puck squeak out beneath his glove.. but he definitely didn't get help from Carefooby rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: CU - Clarkson updates - 20 years ago
In all honesty, I think it was quite apparent that Clarkson came out to play hockey last night. They were faster than our guys to loose pucks, were able to exert more control at the boards. They were also able to cycle the puck in deep to mount loads of pressure on our d which was something I'm sure all of us aren't really used to. I think alot of that were due to some guys on the ice being halfby rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Daily Sun Article 11/11 - 20 years ago
Well, I have been kicked out of a game before. That was in my freshman year. And yeah.. I did think that it was utterly cruel cause it was tradition and it was part of the lyrics. But to claim that lyrics are an important part of Lynah tradition worth defending doesn't make sense to me anymore. Lynah tradition is showing up for games, believing in your team and of course cheering loudly and creatby rsafploc 03 - Hockey
Re: Vesce Uscho Offensive POTW - 20 years ago
Definitely, Czuy was a big factor for his team to come through. But it's really not everyday that someone gets a hat trick in a single game en route to 7 points. The decision could have easily gone either way and I do get the feeling that lots of their decisions are kinda arbitrary in nature. Nonetheless.. it's more positive press for us.by rsafploc 03 - Hockey

My sentiments exactly.. everyone watching the telecast with me couldn't believe the judges... Sounded like the crowd (although prob largely canadian) didn't approve of the results as well...by rsafploc 03 - Hockey
