Re: Atlantic City-ECAC hockey attendance fiasco - 13 years ago
Jim Hyla Sorry that I wasn't more clear. My idea is to have separate semis for each league, one set Thursday, one set Friday. Then 2 different finals; with ECAC on Thursday, they would play an early game, say 1PM, Saturday; then Hockey East final Saturday night, maybe 7 or 8PM. There would be no consolations, unless you wanted to squeeze them in before their finals. So, 6 games over 3 days, wiby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Atlantic City-ECAC hockey attendance fiasco - 13 years ago
Jim Hyla dragonday92The business opportunity for the ecac aside, the tournamount should ultimately be played within the general boundaries of the conference. Atlantic City just isn't it. It's not accessible to most of the fans and its not the draw as a destination that fans either wanted or could afford.Agee. I for one would like to see us go back to Boston. As some remember, after Hockey Eastby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: 2010 NCAA hockey regional ticket situation - 14 years ago
118 went to the CU ticket office, so you can;t get them through the TUC. However 117 and 119 still have seats, just not many, so I imagine those did not go to Cornell, but will be largely Cornell. UNH will make a good showing I'm sure. I sat in a UNH section in '03...it was not fun. Too much NASCAR talkby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: 2010 NCAA hockey regional ticket situation - 14 years ago
Just called and talked to an actual ticket sales rep. Closest I could get was 116 for 5 seats. According to her, 117-122 are largely sold out, but still have a few pairs/ 3 seats. So I'd say buy soon!by BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Screw BU chant confusion - 16 years ago
yeah just about everything the BU band does not has to do with saying BC sucks or drinking, or some stupid dance. I'm very happy to see be able to see greta college hockey every week but their cheers leave something to be desiredby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Screw BU chant confusion - 16 years ago
Just FYI...the BU band in 4 years now of me going to games there as a grad student hasn't played that "Go BU" cheer. Perhaps they gave up on it b/c of the "Screw BU?"by BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Lynah East and/or Dartmouth Roll Call - 17 years ago
So where does the Cornell standing student section "sit?" I think I'm sitting behind the goal that Cornell shoots at twice. Sitting there two years ago though I remember everyone staying seated the whole game, including a fur coated Hahvard alumn who yelled at me for standing up when Cornell scored....hoping that won't happen this year!by BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Brown 2 (FINAL!!!) - 17 years ago
Are you sure about Hasen? USCHO has it different. Granted whoever it was was terrible...but let's give criticism where it's dueby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Friday Game in Boston - 19 years ago
Sorry I didn't get a chance to check in time. My friend and I are just gonna go to the Sports grill on Canal by the Fleet Center. They have so many TVs and dont seem to hassle you much about staying at a table the whole gameby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Friday Game in Boston - 19 years ago
Anyone interested in getting together to watch Saturday's game in Boston?by BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Clarkson in Boston? - 19 years ago

Re: BU's new rink - 19 years ago
This is true...the ID'ing on lines took FOREVER and made them very long. Not that I would know b/c I'm out of state and under 25 so obviously I can't be trusted to drink at sporting or concert events in Massby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Public Skating Saturday at the Fleet Center - 19 years ago
Yeah and F the $1 of every admissin ticket that goes to charity and F the Fleet center workers that don't have their extra income now, but that are able to at least able to earn a few bucks by working at these events Just go have fun and enjoy skating on the ice at an NHL rinkby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey

Re: BU's new rink - 19 years ago
They packed them into these puck-sized shrink wrapped things that were rock solid (I imagined what a bad idea it would be to give these out before a ranger/islander game ). It said something like find your inner dog or something. I do say it worked well as an umbrella on the way outby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: BU's new rink - 19 years ago
Haha I always listen to hear if there's one "Red!" out there during the anthem. I'm just next to the student section and was in one of those Lynah Faithful T-shirts. Didn't hear anything from anyone but I doubt 19 yr old BU fans know what a Lynah is. I'm just happy to be back goin to collegiate hockey games on a regular basis. It definitely pumped me up for Saturday's game at Lynah Eastby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: BU's new rink - 19 years ago
yup...and not bad at 4.50 a bud. And I was wondering that same thing myselfby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: BU's new rink - 19 years ago
I was there last night. Amazingly sweet place. It holds something like 6800 now but they did a great job at making the incline of the rows good enough such that most every seat is still very close to the ice (though not nearly as close as at Lynah). Lots of concessions, beautiful new scoreboard with 4 sided video feed of the game (I could finally see what was going on in the near corner!) Whilby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey

I'm almost definite weezer isn't coming and almost positive Howie Day is, along with someone else, but I'm not sure whoby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey

Re: QF Game 3, Game Thread - 20 years ago
Why is Sommel...or w/e his name is playing on the PP. I mean they don't have anyone else even a lil more experienced??by BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey

Re: QF Game 3, Game Thread - 20 years ago
Personally I think it's better that you get the "facetimer" fans outta there. You're left with more of the true ones that'll hopefully be rewarded tonightby BigRedIslander '03 - Hockey
Re: Game thread: Clarkson @ Cornell game 2 2004-03-13 - 20 years ago
