Re: R1 Game 3: Dartmouth 0 @ Cornell 6 (Final) - 16 years ago
Jim HylaThe most blatant missed call on us was when Brendon Nash just took down one of their players by climbing over his back along the boards. I had to yell "Murphy sucks" on that one it was so blatant. I still can't figure out the icings in the first period. The funny thing about that particular incident is that Murphy watched it happen and waved it off. Officiating was horrible bby duffs4 - Hockey
Re: UMass 0 at Cornell 0 (Friday) postgame - 16 years ago
That was a great game to watch. It seemed like cornell gained confidence as it went on and carried the momentum at the end of the game. I couldn't imagine what it would have sounded like if we scored at the end. Crowd presence was the best it's been all year. One thing I think is worth noting is that this was problably the best reffing job I have ever seen at the college level. That guy waby duffs4 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5, Quinnipiac 3 (postgame) - 16 years ago
Undisciplined, Hah!! That second period needs to be addressed by the league. Dell Was aweful. The penalty shot should havenever happened, the defender knocked the puck away before the Q player was tripped, at most it deserved a 2 min. This is just one complaint of many. Scrivens IMHO played a very good game. He handles the puck very well and offers a lot more confidence than I saw in Davenby duffs4 - Hockey

DILLIGAFHowever, if it is as bad as it sounds, it could be a whole season without him and it could jeopardize his whole career. I truly hope that is not the case. Good thing he went to Cornell, his future looks pretty good with or without hockey.by duffs4 - Hockey

Are you saying I should sell my season tickets while they're worth something? What would your position be had they won tonight? Best team in the nation for the next decade?by duffs4 - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell postgame - 17 years ago
What an awsome game!! We dictated play almost the entire time. I can't think of one time when tech had pressure on us and took it beyond one faceoff in our zone. We had a couple special teams breakdowns but it seemed like we were trying to do some new stuff on the PP with some new personel. Hopefully a little time will iron out the wrinkles. Tonight might have been the breakout game for Greby duffs4 - Hockey

Re: Post Game! - 17 years ago
Cactus12Agreed- if there's a real check from behind on the play... no one who knows how to skate much less play hockey goes down from that "hit" Exactly, if krantz skated into him and planted him from behind there is no question that is a 5er. Since they were both standing there and Krantz shoved him into the boards, 2 minutes, at most. I think the Colgate player put himself in a moby duffs4 - Hockey
Re: Post Game! - 17 years ago
I was suprised, as were the announcers on the telecast. It was soft live and even softer on the broadcast. Was it a disqulification or misconduct? Will we see Krantz Friday??by duffs4 - Hockey
Re: Post Game! - 17 years ago
cth95ps: the 5 minute misconduct was bogus! I just saw the replay, and it looked as weak as when I saw it in Lynah. +1. I thought the game was well called up to that point. That would have been a perfect situation for a dive and a boarding call. Give that guy an oscar he deserved it.by duffs4 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Colgate postgame - 17 years ago
Drew Does Davenport/Scrivens get the same defensive support that McKee received? I ask the question from the outside looking in and if you ask me, no way. In the colgate game i would say yes they did. If you only stop 10 shots in a game and lose I think you have to look at the goltending. One thing I would like to point out about our successful PK in years past is that the credit was alwaysby duffs4 - Hockey

Wait, wait... they're putting the p-box on the visitors side? Isn't half the point of separating the benches supposed to be to make *your* bench closer to the p-box so you can switch quicker when a guy comes out? Ala Bright. Don't get your panties in a bunch, penalty boxes will be on both sides.by duffs4 - Hockey

Re: O'Byrne goes pro - 17 years ago
As others have said, there are not DI caliber defensemen just walking around campus. The best undergraduate hockey player at Cornell who is not on the team is well below the worst player on the team. Even if for some ridiculous reason they took one, he would never come close to dressing unless there was an emergency injury situation. Bottom line, the blueline is in serious trouble. Re: Sasha Pokulok signs with the Capitals - 17 years ago
bye, bye!!! I hope he learns to skate before he gets to camp. His last year was mediocre at best, I'm guessing some of the fr. we have coming in will fill his spot and we wont miss a beat. Now if O'byrne were to goby duffs4 - Hockey

I watched a little of the AHL Allstar game last night. I heard Vesce was going to be in the lineup, first time I spotted him on was when he made a beautiful cross ice pass that lead to the first Planet-USA goal. Looks like he's making quite and impression. GO Ves!by duffs4 - Hockey

Re: Cornell-RIT post game - 18 years ago
Where the hell has the physical play gone????? You must have been getting popcorn when O'byrne made one of the RIT players forget how to skate. Best hit of the year. Assesment: Cornell plays to the level of the other team. With that said CU had 56 shots! Without that goalie the score would have been 10-1. Anyone catch the glove save, I think it was on Bitz, in the second period, Wby duffs4 - Hockey

Re: CU - tUMD postgame - 18 years ago
I was wondering if people who were at the game thought that colgate, er, um, cornell got the short end of the stick from the officials? Watching on the webcast it looked like most of the penalties called on cornell were weak at best. 5 min major, didn't see it, can someone elaborate?by duffs4 - Hockey

Jim Hyla Wrote: The USCHO story again shows what a class act Schafer is.“The first period was probably one of the worst periods of hockey that this town and university has seen in some time. It was embarrassing,†said Schaffer. “They out-competed us in the first period. “Our alumni, our fans, our university, all they ask is that you come out ready to compete. We didn’t do that.â€by duffs4 - Hockey
Re: Rangers v.s Capitals - 18 years ago
I bet malik has made that move thousands of times in practice, in fact I bet most people on that team can make that shot, it's just not the most probable to go in. I think the shoot out is a great gimmik for getting people who aren't hockey purists to watch the game, just as long as it stays out of the playoffs. here's a good link to the move:by duffs4 - Hockey
