dag14 Beeeej dag14 How do you people remember this stuff? I am not sure what I had for breakfast this morning. Well, it helps to have seen the absurdity in person. But once you read Bill's summary from the late, lamented Hockey-L, you'll remember it forever, too. Swampy Al DeFlorio billhoward 2 teams wishing OT was not sudden death. Too much weight to the team with the better FOGO. Ridiculous OT format for a sport where a goal every 2-2.5 minutes is the norm. Agree, but the problem is how to make 2, 3, 4, or more OT periods more unlikely. Team 1 is given possession (based on a coin toss - no faceoff). If they score, team 2 gets possession. Roy 82 TimV billhoward French Rage shafer Dafatone I just want to hear a few players sing the East Hill Car Wash jingle on whcu. Is that so wrong? THIS Yeah I mean ignoring the actual moral/financial/other-meaningful implications of NIL stuff, I would probably feel a lot different about it if it meant a LOT more college players involved in low-budget local commercials nationwide, rather thanby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

dbilmes Pecknold will now have the locker room named after him and his wife as a result of the largest alumni donation in history of Q athletics. The "Rand and Nikki Pecknold jock strap storage facility" does have a bit of a nice ring to it.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

BearLover abmarks BearLover Trotsky BearLoverAgain, congrats to everyone here who was rooting for Rand/Q to win the national championship. Which includes Schafer. So. You were saying something? Source? Anyway, it doesn’t really matter what Schafer said publicly. Never in a million years is a coach going to admit that he was rooting against a member of his own league. RichH Trotsky billhoward What is a "big screen" these days? I've got a 65-inch plasma (last year of production at Panasonic, best TV ever circa 2015) and I'm starting to think 85 inches means big. Costco has some at the $2,000 level. LG just announced a 100-inch OLED G3, G3 clarifying that it's Gulfstream-level pricing, around $25,000. For the guillotine set. Women's World Championships: Rebecca Johnston gets Canada's 3rd goal against Switzerland. Jaime Bourbonnais getting some love from the TSN announcers. Micah Zandee-Hart and Kristin O'Neill getting decent ice time, and of course, Brianne Jenner.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

mike1960 upprdeck Su scored to go up 12-11 then scored again to go up 13-11. Except the ref made a call on a ball everyone thought was a goal and as SU was stunned, ND ran back and scored won like the next 8 faceoffs SU barely got the ball again and got rolled. After the game the reds claimed that a save was made and the ball was then carried into the goal by the goalie and thats allowed?? Nby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Other Sports

mike1960 Jeff Hopkins '82 For those who get ACC Network, they're showing the ND - Cuse game. Now tied at 11 with a minute left in the 3rd. I'm not sure who I want to lose more -- Notre Dame or Syrexcuse. Seems pretty obvious whose gonna lose at the moment. ND 19 - SU 12 with 3 mins left. ND playing four corners. FWIW, Syracuse should have scored to take a 2 goal lead. When the ND goaby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Other Sports

jtwcornell91 Trotsky I have a confession to make. While we were in, I was rooting hard for the rest of the ECAC to advance. Now that we are out, my interest in the rest of the tournament has dropped to exactly zero. I still hope Q advances and wins, but I don't care. George64 Game highlights. Confirms my impression that Anish and Quint spent more time talking to each other than doing the play-by-play. I can't stand to watch them. It's the Howard Cosell school of broadcasting. Jabber, jabber, jabber. But for what it's worth, the editing of that clip was horrendous, too.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Other Sports
