billhoward CAS Does seem football has some positive momentum (energetic new coaching staff, improved recruiting, more funding, new fieldhouse being built) It does. Please let this be real, generational change. And I bet we are all waiting for the other shoe to drop. As Yogi Berra might have said, "Can a leopard change his stripes?"i'm not waiting for the other shoe to drop at all. it loby ugarte - Other Sports

ugarte Cornella won his best of three final in back to back matches, 16-5 tech fall and a first period pin. He will represent Team USA at the world championships in Novi Sad, Siberia Serbia this October. Actually... he will probably not be in Siberia or Serbia. I didn't notice that the number three man on the Senior ladder is 18 year old Marcus Blaze, who I assume will take the U23 spot from Cornby ugarte - Other Sports

ursusminor stereax ursusminor FWIW, RPI supposedly has 20 new players for 2025-6, 12 of whom are from the portal. Of the first-year players, three played major juniors. This agrees with my best guess. Oh hey, Jack Gorton. I've heard tales of his stupidity before LOL. Are you saying that he is just stupid or stupid for picking RPI? As was pointed out on the RPI thread on USCHO, he majored in advby ugarte - Hockey

fastforward Jim Hyla BearLover Harvard picked up their first commitment from the CHL, Alex Huang of the QMJHL, ‘06 defenseman ranked #77 by NHL Central Scouting for this year’s draft. Unless of course the Trump administration is able to follow through with not allowing foreign students to attend Harvard. That could eventually impact all colleges-doubt he will stop at Harvardi'm crying and thrby ugarte - Hockey

Dake lost in back to back matches to Valencia. Diakomihalis won the first match by tech, 10-0, the blew leads in the next two, losing 17-10 and by fall. I've never left an event so angry.by ugarte - Other Sports

Ken711 Does really it matter. We have a NCAA Championship coach in Connor Buczek. Go Big Red!if i limited my life to things that "matter" it would be pretty boring!by ugarte - Other Sports

Re: 2025-26 schedule - 4 weeks ago
ER stereax upprdeck So if rooms were $150 a night people would be fine with the cost but $300 is too much? I get a 7 day vacation it adding up but to quibble about $150 for 2 day thing? Staying in Toledo was about $250 for the hockey NCAA. $300 per night for 2 nights is basically the rest of my current bank account, lmfao.... I personally don’t think it’s worth it to travel to NYC thanksgivby ugarte - Hockey
Re: Recruits 2025 and Beyond - 5 weeks ago
stereax Michigan is a much bigger program lmao. If they wanted him, playing there is a more "sure-fire" way to getting more eyes and eventually the possibility of an NHL deal. Plus the NIL specter. Plus iirc Mich graduated/lost almost all its good dmen.I don't think it's about "eyes" - that's not an issue. The two big differences IMO are (a) NIL, or at least a scholarship andby ugarte - Hockey

Beeeej Weder CU2007 Announcement today on the Athletics website lists Cournoyer as coming in the fall. Great news from my perspective as I welcome the competition in the crease. BearLover scoop85 stereax Weder Chris Brown, previously the associate head coach at Alaska Fairbanks, has joined the coaching staff: Anyone know anything about him? The bio in the announcement is pretty comprehensive. One issue I see is that he's never coached at an elite academic school, so there will be a learning curve in recruiting the type of player we look for. But I'm confident Casey anby ugarte - Hockey

Final X for Team USA qualification is June 14 in Newark. Originally there were three Cornellians scheduled to wrestle: Vito Arujau at 61kg, Yianni Diakomihlis at 70kg and Kyle Dake at 86kg. The latter two are still competing, but Arujau has exercised his right as a reigning world medalist to delay his match due to injury. A new date hasn't been set yet.
