Re: Alumni in the Pros - February 2009 - 15 years ago
ugarteRatushnyFan '08-'09: This year at various points we've had Moulson, Vesce (per the article above), Bitz, Murray and O'Byrne. That's 5. Hopefully Iggulden gets a shot. 6 would be the record. pfibigerRay Sawada has been recalled to the Stars: That's 6. Come on NYI, make it 7! You forgot the important part, Happy B-Day Raymond!by Brian - Hockey

Al DeFlorioRitaAl DeFlorioWorst...unis...ever. Thanks for the alert, Rita. And these 96 year old unis also predate television . Maybe they look better in person. For better looking "uniforms", check out Puppy Bowl V on the Animal Planet. There are some very cute "coats" there. Some even wooly and furry. Bruins' announcers gave the final score as: Bruins 3, Inmates 1by Brian - Hockey

How did everyone miss the Sunday AHL stats: Moulson, Bitz, and Iggulden (Hat Trick--listed as one of the stars on the AHL page) all had goals; I wonder what is (has been) the largest number of cornell alumni to score a goal in one day in either the NHL or AHL?by Brian - Hockey

Check out the line for the Manchester/Worcester game last night. The first player in the shoot out for each team was a Cornell alum and they both scored! Swweeeett!by Brian - Hockey

From the Thursday Dallas Stars game: Douglas Murray single handedly got the crowd into the game three minutes into the second period with his inspired bout with Dallas goon Krys Barch. Dallas forward Eric Lindros (six-foot-four, 245-pounds) took a run at Murray (six-foot-three, 240-pounds) and clipped him with a dangerous knee-to-knee hit. Murray, who lost his balance on the collision, inadvby Brian - Hockey

madAgaskar07A Doug Murray hit is featured on "NHL Plays of the Week" on the NHLVideo channel on Youtube ( ). It's at 3:45. "Now Doug Murray flattens the Phoenix captain, Shane Doan,..." More face time for Murray, sounds like he is finding his place with the Sharks. Two hits in this clip: They actually interview Murray between periods in this clip. Is it me or hby Brian - Hockey

dag14While Cornell was playing Brown Saturday night, the Binghamton Senators were playing in Syracuse and the game was televised in central NY. I was at Lynah but recorded the game to watch later. Binghamton went down 1-4 but came back to tie 4-4 in regulation -- Ryan had one of the comeback goals and an assist on the tying goal. Still tied after OT so on to the shoot out. Both Ryan and Charby Brian - Hockey

Interesting, I know somebody that has adjacent property to Joe and they go hunting together from time to time. So it begs the question, what are you referring to when you mention off-season?by Brian - Hockey

Re: ECAC Early Departures/Year Off Returnees/Transfers - 17 years ago
Al DeFlorioBrianSo what will the defensive pairings look like? Glover has to be considered the top remaining defensemen and he is a senior. I would guess Seminoff followed by Salmela or Krantz. It's hard to tell since Glover and Krantz were hurt last year. We have Krueger and Nash coming in. We'll be in trouble if there are any injuries. I can see Bitz playing defense if we get hit with theby Brian - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros JULY '06 - 17 years ago
TrotskyYikes, don't do that! The Carefoot reference definitely made me worry I'd missed something big. It has nothing to do with being graduated and everything with still being on the team. On to other alumni: whither Nieuwy? Has he officially retired? How about Moulson, have the Penguins started camp?by Brian - Hockey

Re: NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Bracket Selection Show - 18 years ago
Chris '03dbilmesBased upon ESPN's "expert," we have no shot at winning this game. Perhaps the team shouldn't even make the trip out there. Consider it a victory that Bob "chowdah head" Norton didn't name drop a bunch of Boston prep schools in explaining why BU is a lock for the F4. Totally agree! Bob Norton favored sucks in the ECAC tournament a few years ago when we endeby Brian - Hockey
Re: NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Bracket Selection Show - 18 years ago
Is there a chance that we could stay in Albany? From a revenue point of view it would makes sense. They know Cornell has a large traveling contingent when they are in the East and they probably noticed that this weekend with the ECAC tournament. Might they just give us a lower seed just to keep us in Albany? After all it is all about money!by Brian - Hockey

Re: Recruits 2006: The New Thread - 18 years ago
ebilmesursaminor on Jan 30According to Heisenberg's list, Cornell has received commitments from another set of twins, Mike and Joe Devin from Catholic Memorial. Since one plays defense, I guess that they won't replace the Abbotts. No but the McRae's were splite, one defense, one forward and they were very exciting to watch, much like the abbotts.by Brian - Hockey
Re: Recruits 2006: The New Thread - 18 years ago
