stereax DiGiulian didn't get drafted though, right? Correct. In all likelihood, he is deeply disappointed not to have had his name called during the draft. Nevertheless, he will have more control over his post-college employment opportunities as an undrafted free agent.by cbuckser - Hockey

chimpfood It’s nice that even though DiGiulian’s reviews aren’t too hopeful on his NHL potential, they think he’ll be a nice college player. It’s nice when we have guys in the NHL but anyone who can give us college production is very exciting. It’s great to hear that the work rate is the best trait of a guy that was almost a point a game in the USHL. When Doug Derraugh potted 30 goals his seniorby cbuckser - Hockey

BearLover chimpfood Numbers are also shown on the roster. Gorski is 2, Veilleux 4, McCrady 7, Ryan 12, Fisher 16, Long 17, DiGiulian 18, Arsenault 19, Hiscock 21, Pirtle 22, Hamilton 26, Ashton 27, Cournoyer 30, Roest 40. I can’t remember another #40 for Cornell, anyone got one? Major was 16 last year. Is he changing numbers? 16 to 9by cbuckser - Hockey

stereax arugula Top pair guy on a very good team. Excellent. Robertson replacement? He looks more like a Douglas Murray replacement. Our defense corps was beginning to tilt righthanded, and Luke Ashton will balance things out in this regard.by cbuckser - Hockey

jtwcornell91 arugula Fwiw these were all professional teams in the highest division in the countries with older players. I noticed at least a few ex NHLers amongst their rosters. So they were good opponents. BearLoverCasey is clearly a logical choice to take over Cornell’s hockey program. But I would not call it a slam dunk. I am hopeful that Casey can dip into whatever secret sauce Schafer found, because it seems there was some secret sauce responsible for Cornell’s comparative success—something beyond the numbers. I think culture and reputation are the key ingredients, and I expect Casey will maiby cbuckser - Hockey

BearLover abmarks surprised this hasn't been posted yet. Clarkson Turns to Alum J.F. Houle as Next Coach Seems like a solid hire for Clarkson as they get an alum who's been successful (and had just been extended) as HC with Montreal's AHL affiliate. Also probably good for the ECAC overall to land coaches thatve reached that level. Makes me wonder whether Cam Abbott might get a futureby cbuckser - Hockey
Re: Mike Schafer retiring 2025 - 1 year ago
Trotsky Cornell players return to campus at the end of July, because on Aug. 2, the team leaves for a European tour, five exhibition games against foreign teams. Huh. The men's hockey team made a trip like this in 2014. One of the opponents was Mike Knoepfli's pro team in Switzerland. It appears that Nicki Moore is a big supporter of varsity teams making quadrennial international trips, I tby cbuckser - Hockey

adamw Swampy I didn't want to start a new thread, but this article probably should be on a thread entitled, "Casey Jones: Cornell Men's Hockey's next coach." No love for my Coach Schafer hagiography? I did love it. Tremendously. But I didn't read it until Monday, so I thought it was a little late to provide kudos. But I guess it's never too late. Thank you, Adam.by cbuckser - Hockey

Re: 2022 Incoming Recruits - 3 years ago
BearLover Cornell still has two more years of having to play against fifth year players, and of having to play against programs who can enroll them in graduate programs, something the Ivies cannot do. It will certainly benefit Cornell when we do not have to deal with this anymore. I don’t know the specifics, but I would guess that Cornell was able to land such a coveted transfer (Seger) becauby cbuckser - Hockey

mattj711 Weder profudge Team USA versus Sweden on ESPN+ leading 1-0 early in first right now. This is the U18 Worlds in Wisconsin. Incoming D Grace Dwyer had a couple of assists in a 6-1 win. Canada has four incoming Red players (and a 2023 commit) and lost its opener, 2-0 to Finland. There are two 2023 Cornell commits on Team Canada, Piper Grober and Karel Prefontaine. Trotsky upprdeck they only gave the yr to teams that played the 21 season.. since the ivies sat out none of those kids get that year back now unless they were a 5th yr grad and went and played somewhere else i guess. toddlose BearLover billhoward Iceberg There are some good defensive teams left but I don't see how Michigan doesn't win it all unless they have a really bad game or suffer a significant injury. Their play is on a wholly different level compared to any other team I've seen in the tournament Quinnipiac gave it the old college try in the third period, to 4-3, and they have to be thinking about the Sby cbuckser - Hockey

Trotsky marty Trotsky Seems to me this style lives or dies by how well Max is playing and the second half he disappeared.
