Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: America One Sucks it - 10 years ago
GBR1234 FYI, I wrote and complained to support at America One Sports. Below is my message and their reply: Subject: Why? Last night's Cornell game from Lynah Rink was unwatchable on iPad. It froze every 15 seconds so I ended up going back to my laptop where the video didn't freeze but was terrible. ..Highly compressed and blotchy. I just watched the women's hockey game game from Lynahby Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: America One Sucks it - 10 years ago
So I'm debating whether to buy the stream tonight to watch it and judging from the discussion here I'd venture that "no" would be the vote. I'd run it from my PC to TV via HDMI . . . from what I'm reading, it's $10 for a pretty substandard feed, though the PC version is better than the mobile.by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: America One worse than Red Cast - 12 years ago
Such frustration has been stated before, but it's mind-boggling to think that the audio (and video) could be so poor. I'm watching the Sabres instead now. www.enigmagroup.org/bsn360by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: America One worse than Red Cast - 12 years ago
For tonight the game was advertised as having "LOW QUALITY AUDIO" before the game, on america one site. It is indeed low quality, with the play-by-play barely audible. However, by halfway through the 1st, the "low quality audio" had become that humming sound speakers make when they're powered on but the jack is not plugged in, nothing else.by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: Regionals Sunday March 28 - 14 years ago
Surprised to just tune into the feed and I literally just saw 3 BC goals. Now 9-4 BC. Too bad the ECAC is showing so poorly this year.by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: Pre-Harvard Info - 14 years ago
billhoward Al DeFlorio Brian Delaney has this in his piece in today's Journal: "Steve Donahue had given Cornell off on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday as a reward for their strong play down the stretch of the season. They got back at it today with a tough practice. Jeff Foote sat out with a stomach virus, and freshman Miles Asafo-Adjei stayed at home with similar symptoms. Apparently it's a buby Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: "Section D Tonight" - 14 years ago
That could be a useful publication distributed about Lynah before games. A few dedicated folks could pull if off: a committee to update the material on the flyer for a given game, and perhaps TA's with access to the copy machines, and a few reams of paper. Might be helpful!by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/23 - 14 years ago
Al DeFlorio Jim Hyla No it was not a clean pick. Terrible no call. The whole rink, Cornell bench and coaches were in uproar over it. I'm going to look at the Redcast, but a terrible way to end a good game. Yes, again they outplayed us, they have better players than we do; but to take the wind out of our sails that way was terrible. Just got an email distribution from Schafer with an attached videby Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/23 - 14 years ago
Larry72 Art said as he always does when Cornell scores its first goal at home: "The Cornell goal..." Same cadence with no variation! I do appreciate Art's style of announcing, and I acknowledge that he probably did not change anything and that I'm probably wrong, but I'll keep this notion filed away until I hear some audio evidence, should it ever arise. If it doesn't, it's of littleby Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/23 - 14 years ago
The announcer said "Theee TYING Cornell goal" when announcing our first goal with 9 seconds left. That's my story, and until I hear audio / see video showing otherwise, I'm sticking to it.by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: North Dakota Postgame 1/23 - 14 years ago
I thought the 2nd ND goal resulted from a lackadaisical breakout, but also our guy was tripped right in front of our net as the puck was being skated out. That's how I saw it from section F. Funny thing was, I thought I heard the Cornell goal announced with 9 seconds remaining as "Theeeee TYING Cornell goal, scored by . . . ". I swear he said "tying". He definitely diby Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1, SLU 1 (Final) - 14 years ago
Jim Hyla Lauren '06 Jim HylaAll 4 officials missed a 20-30 second too many men SLU penalty in the first period. All 6 SLU men were in the zone at once, and the CU bench and fans were screaming too many men. To be fair, our team's gotten away with one of those this year as well. Not that I endorse equalize-injustice-style reffing--not at all--but cosmically, it was probably appropriate. But thiby Travis 02 - Hockey

Jerseygirl Kyle Rose JerseygirlIt with Captain Morgan, just makes me more comfortable with my current stance that mascots are terrifying and should be avoided at nearly all costs. Anyone know if any of the Touchdowns ever mauled an unsuspecting fan? Oho, I see what you did there. One of the bears snuck up on me in my senior year and hugged me from behind during a hockey game at Lynah, therebby Travis 02 - Hockey

Re: Northeastern game is on.... - 15 years ago
Either this ustream link or the justin.tv/insgadget stream should work. both seem to be showing ESPNU on and off, the guy from justin.tv has stated he'll have the CU-Bemidji on for tonight.by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Regional: Cornell (3) vs. Northeastern (2) - FINAL - 15 years ago
Al DeFlorioDenison 71To this I concur: Cornell gets outplayed for a good portion of the game but scores the final three goals, including the game-winner with 17 seconds remaining, to beat Northeastern and move on to play tomorrow night in the Midwest Regional Final. We are fortunate to have beaten this team. Evenly matched on paper, yes, but Thiessen is a tough goalie and this was NU's game to lby Travis 02 - Hockey

If I read that right, wouldn't that be 8 out of the last 8 first round games they have participated in, instead of 6?by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: justin.tv for internet feed of CU vs. Northeastern - 15 years ago
Yeah god only knows why the feed died - is that service basically home computer users just running it through their own cable connection and broadcasting to through the site? He could have had a momentary connection loss, or his computer restarted, or any number of things, who knows.by Travis 02 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Regional: Cornell (3) vs. Northeastern (2) - 3rd period - 15 years ago
Flyers1037Travis 02The WRBB announcers are incredulous . . . their crying is kind of funny. I know the game's not over, but regardless they are funny in their whining. I think they are better than a lot of other announcers I have had to listen to. True that, and WRRB announcers >> ESPN 890 announcers. I had the justin.tv feed for most of the game, but that died after the second periodby Travis 02 - Hockey
