Re: Cornell v. UM-Duluth FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP!! - 14 years ago
Cornell takes the lead! 1-0 still in the 2nd period with about 5 minutes left. I'm watching the feed on ncaa.com .by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Basketball Recruiting War - 16 years ago
In NCAA Basketball Tournament program, they had a page on what percentage of student-athletes go pro... Men's Basketball........1.2% Women's Basketball......1.0% Football................1.8% Baseball................9.4% Men's Ice Hockey........3.7% Men's Soccer............1.7%by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Women's Basketball Travel Woes - 16 years ago
The Day Two photos are better than Day One. They include press day, funny open practice shots, and some players being interviewed by Rebecca Lobo.by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Stanford roll call... - 16 years ago
I also got tickets in the CU lottery, so I'll see you at the Honda Center. =)by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Basketball-watching gatherings (Atl, Bos, Chi, DC, HudVal, NYC, Phila, SF, etc.) - 16 years ago
WBNG (local Binghamton channel responsible for the clips ESPN used the night the Cornell men clinched) will be airing the game, coverage starting at 4:40pm.by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Cornell women get UConn - 16 years ago
Considering the ticket office didn't know the form wasn't online until I called late afternoon, I think they may still have some of the allotted CU tickets available. I wouldn't be surprised if someone called in the morning and was able to still get tickets.by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Men's and womens's NCAA basketball playoff tickets - 16 years ago
I'm not sure I'll make it back in time for the women's game, but I did call just to let them know they should fix the pdf. The ticket office guy I spoke to said it was fine to do the request via phone anyway. So anyone with fax issues, no form, etc., can just call 607-254-BEAR.by Adara - Other Sports

Am I the only one just seeing the instructions page and not the form (page 2)?by Adara - Other Sports
[W.Hoops] ESPN.com coverage - 16 years ago
There are some AP Photos of the game and post-game at espn.com. The victory is also a top story headline on the Women's Bball frontpage which links to the game article/recap There are also more photos and video available from the Ivy League sports site.by Adara - Other Sports
[Lax] Cornell 14 - Canisius 3 (F) - 16 years ago
Espey has 2 unassisted goals at the half. Hurley with 3 goals in 2nd half of game. Game discussion in other thread....by Adara - Other Sports
[W. Hoops] ESPN.com Bracketology - 16 years ago
Bracketology is predicting the Ivy winner gets a 15 seed and plays against Rutgers in Connecticut. The best travel scenario for me would be the men going to DC, and the women winning Sunday and ending up in Maryland. CT wouldn't be a bad drive either.by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Cornell will play DC/HU on Sunday - 16 years ago
The league site is now updated with the same info already stated on the CU and HU sites. I hope there's a good turnout on Sunday for the game. It'll end with enough time for everyone to head somewhere to catch the Selection show at 6pm.by Adara - Other Sports
Cornell will play DC/HU on Sunday - 16 years ago
According to the CU athletics site schedule, Cornell received the bye...by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Men's Basketball 1st Round NCAA Site - 16 years ago
I called the ticket office and clicked 3 for info on basketball tickets. The message (which sounded like Gene) said something close to... "Although the men's basketball team has qualified for the NCAA tournament, we do not have exact ticketing information at this time. Please refer to cornellbigred.com for updates on tickets for the tournament." That's been the message since at leastby Adara - Other Sports
ESPN PTI Big Finish - 16 years ago
Not surprising (because of Tony Kornheiser), but Cornell clinching made the Pardon The Interruption Big Finish. Here's the video... It's only about 6 seconds of it.by Adara - Other Sports
Re: ESPN.com Men's B-ball Frontpage - 16 years ago
I thought Josh was refering to UConn being ranked #13 in the AP poll rather than them being a 4th seed.by Adara - Other Sports
ESPN.com Men's B-ball Frontpage - 16 years ago
It'll probably be updated at some point soon, but Cornell currently has the front page picture and story. Cornell is named "Team of the Week". Cornell is also up to 2 votes in the AP poll.by Adara - Other Sports
Re: They did it! - 16 years ago
I don't have the software to video capture it.by Adara - Other Sports
Re: They did it! - 16 years ago
I just have it videotaped. It was short. Sportscenter only showed a few shots from during the game, everyone rushing the court, and one of the players cutting down the net. There are some AP photos from the game up on ESPN.com...by Adara - Other Sports
Re: They did it! - 16 years ago
It was just the first story on Sports Center, no video yet but the score and stats. They said video will be shown later in the show.by Adara - Other Sports
ESPN headline - 16 years ago
Cornell clinching a share of the Ivy title is in the top headline stories on the ESPN men's basketball front page. A few observations from last night... The Foote ally oop was awesome. There were at least 5 people taking video the whole game from the floor that I saw. As someone here suspected, the Brown score was left out of the out-of-town scores all night until the CU game was endingby Adara - Other Sports
Re: Just a rumor about Saturday basketball - 16 years ago
Scores from all the Ivy league men's basketball games, for the women's basketball team, and men's hockey team are usually announced throughout the game. If announcements aren't made, it'd be a change from past games at Newman Arena. I haven't heard anything about the coach requesting anything different for this weekend. As for videotaping Friday, I recall seeing someone near the court videotapby Adara - Other Sports
Women's Hoops - 16 years ago
The CU women's team is having quite a year and this coming weekend is huge. They are in first place in the league, have set a new Cornell women's single-season league wins record at 9 (with 4 games left), and they have an important weekend coming up. This weekend they face Dartmouth and Harvard, the 3rd and 2nd place teams, respectively. If they can win these tough road games, that could meanby Adara - Other Sports
Re: Next Weekend - 16 years ago
They have the Saturday basketball game start time as 6pm. They also have it incorrectly listed as a Cornell away game so who knows... Editted to add: Looks like they listed the women's schedule under the mens' standings... forget it.by Adara - Other Sports
Re: Favorite between-period entertainment? - 21 years ago
The Dartmouth mascot from a few years ago... 1999, I think. It skated on the ice with a human sized body and this huge inflated head that slowly bobbed back and forth with each step. The mental image alone still cracks me up, but watching it live was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. The whole Cornell crowd burst out into laughter that pretty much maintained throughout the period breaby Adara - Hockey
Re: OT: CU Blunder - 21 years ago
It was also reported on the Today show this morning, which is when I first heard about it. It was something to the effect of "Cornell University is known for being the Big Red, which seems appropriate now considering the red faces of those responsible for an unfortunate admissions error...." The last time Cornell got a mention on there was when the dancing K-Mart Joe Boxer guy was iby Adara - Hockey
Re: NCAA Tix - 22 years ago
I called the Cornell ticket office and they said they won't know what sections their tickets are in until tomorrow. Also, when you call the Centrum, they don't know what schools are in which sections and the only tix they have for sale (as of a few minutes ago) are in the 3rd deck.by Adara - Hockey
Re: Wow!!!!!!! - 22 years ago
Emily Hughes is 13 (I think). So we might see the two sisters competing in the same Olympic games 4 years from now.by Adara - Hockey
Re: Wow!!!!!!! - 22 years ago
That was Emily Hughes, her younger sister. I saw on the news she has a book... "I am a Skater".by Adara - Hockey
