Re: List of all current Band Songs? - 5 years ago
As of now, the band is planning to attend both Lake Placid and the Women's Frozen Four this weekend, but it seems like they might struggle to get enough people to do both given they are both road trips and it is a stressful time of the semester for prelims and such.by kevdog8 - Hockey

Which event are you referring to? Usually no, we're pretty creative about it. We often bring a few extra people over the instrument limit, and those people have no instruments; they just make noise, are percussionists who rotate in for different songs, or they bring a mouthpiece and rotate in on the sax or something.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: List of all current Band Songs? - 5 years ago
LynahFaithful Sorry for the random question, but does anyone know where I can find a current list of the songs that the band plays? I cant get some of those songs out of my head. In particular one of the songs they played tonight was released not long ago and is more of a catchy techno/dance song. I saw a Spotify playlist somewhere of some of the songs they play but it didn't include the songby kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF Game 1: #10 Cornell vs #21 Union - 5 years ago
Ugh. Any team that employs that goon Emeliofonwu is just so frustrating to lose to.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: ECAC SF Women: #1 Cornell vs #4 Princeton - 5 years ago
imafrshmn The potential outcomes have narrowed down considerably given the stratification in the pairwise rankings, even before the result of Ohio State-Wisconsin tonight and the championships tomorrow: (assuming NCAA tournament seeding follows pairwise exactly, which it hasn't always in the past for seeds 5-8). Cornell loss to Clarkson: 6th seed at 3. Northeastern Cornell beats Clarkson:by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: atlantic hockey - 5 years ago
Having been to the Northford Ice Pavilion in North Branford, Connecticut... a sister facility to that would be nowhere near the level of a college hockey playoffs facility, even for Atlantic Hockey.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: 2019-02-22: RPI at #9 Cornell - 5 years ago
Donaldson is in tonight. We'll see if he is 100 percent or not. Same goes for Barron, who was apparently a game-time decision last Saturday.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Brown - 5 years ago
sah67 kevdog8 My guess is he dresses Song/Bramwell as needed and leaves them at the end of the bench again... Bramwell has actually gotten a handful of (short) shifts. Song, on the other hand, got zero in the one game he dressed for. Yep, seen him out there myself, he took the shift right after Donny went down last weekend. But his shifts have been few and far between. Feel bad for the kid, heby kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Brown - 5 years ago
Has Cornell ever called up a club player in the recent era? This year, Schafer has been forced to dress Song, Bramwell and Brakel (when he was here) at times but has preferred to roll 11 forwards or 5 D-men over giving those guys shifts. My guess is he dresses Song/Bramwell as needed and leaves them at the end of the bench again...by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: 2019-02-02: Cornell 1 RPI 1 (ot) - 5 years ago
ursusminor If I may ask, is this disrespect by the RPI band, the HFH staff, or the RPI fans? On this occasion (Spring '18) it was started by the RPI band and continued by HFH staff. We have had past issues with HFH staff before. I'll never forget the year they moved an entire 30-person band five seats to the left because someone complained we were making too much noise. I'm sorry, ma'am, but we tby kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: 2019-02-02: Cornell 1 RPI 1 (ot) - 5 years ago
Jim Hyla marty Chris 02 Anyone know why the band didn't make the trip to RPI this weekend? According to Jim Hyla the band plans to make the final two trips to the away series in the coming weeks. He and I both think the shabby treatment by Union last year factored into the decision to skip RPI and Union. They treated the band like shit and then denied it all when faced with a letter that Jby kevdog8 - Hockey

Trotsky Thx. Somehow the Gate roster I pulled up was 2017. My bad. No worries; I was quite fond of yelling "Snodgrass!" at him at games in Ithaca and Hamilton so I knew he'd been there for a few seasonsby kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: 2019-01-26: Colgate 3 Cornell 2 (ot) - 5 years ago
Trotsky It does. Also: Snodgrass is a freshman so I hope Section A makes a note to be particularly attentive to him in the years ahead. Snodgrass is a junior, for the record.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: Gonna Fly Now/Gary Glitter - 5 years ago
Sorry I hadn't logged in in a while. But as the recent band alum who posted earlier, I largely agree with most of the thoughts here. And I arranged Jeopardy for the band, so I was really happy that I was able to get the band to 1. play it and 2. play it at the appropriate time (a goal replay.) But I do agree that playing it repeatedly is an instance of one of the worst things about us: we indulgeby kevdog8 - Hockey

Band alum here, hoping to be in Ithaca in a few weeks and I can report back then on what, if anything, has changed.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: Beat Colgate - 5 years ago
Andreev possibly out long-term, with Mullin out short-term. Green and Malott still not back.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: Zamboni dave - 5 years ago
As a recent alum, I believe Dave stopped driving the ice resurfacer (it's not a Zamboni) in the spring of '17. He still is at some games, but Ryan drives it now.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: Alumni News 2018-19 - 5 years ago
A few updates. Riley Nash now with Columbus (NHL), Alex Rauter with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), and Jacob McDonald with Florida (NHL). And it's the Worcester Railers, not Mailers, for Kubiak, Gillam and Tschantz.by kevdog8 - Hockey
Re: 2018-19 Schedule - 6 years ago
Nice to see some slightly more difficult non-conference games than this past season, but as a senior, class of '18, I can't help but think back to freshman year when we played Omaha and Denver at home. It would be nice to have at least one series a year with an NCAA-caliber team from another conference.by kevdog8 - Hockey
