Re: ECAC QF - 9 years ago
Killian's hit was somewhat reckless and very deliberate. The Harvard player could have gotten hurt badly if he hadn't dropped down. I would have given Killian at least 2 mins.by Icy - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF - 9 years ago
Yale's Killian just took a 5 minute major with ~ 5 mins left to go in first overtime. Also, got game DQ, hitting from behind.by Icy - Hockey
Re: ECAC QF - 9 years ago
Here's my guess: Q in 3 (I hope I am wrong here. I really hope Q loses.) SLU in 2 Yale in 3 Drt in 3 Semi: Q beats Drt Yale beats SLU Final: Yale beats Qby Icy - Hockey

According to this article from Nov./Dec. 2012, his contract expires in 2016.by Icy - Hockey
Re: ECAC Prelims - 9 years ago
Schafer probably has a tough time recruiting goal scorers. Offensively-minded junior hockey guys who want to make a good impression on people in the NHL are unlikely to choose Cornell. They know they are going to be required to stick with Mike's disciplined approach. On the subject of discipline, Mike should be given a lot of credit for keeping the team clean. Union - 9 years ago
Tough way to end the season. Union is better than their record indicates and they certainly can score. Best of luck to them the rest of the way. I'd rather they win it than Q. Thanks to all the seniors.by Icy - Hockey

Looked like a good goal to me. Thanks for the video JH.by Icy - Hockey

All permutations aside, I was impressed with the comeback tonight.by Icy - Hockey
Re: Quinny @ CU 02/06/15 - 9 years ago
Tough loss for Cornell. The refs made a good call on Cornell's disallowed goal. Hilbrich was clearly in the crease before McCarren shot the puck in the net and he wasn't pushed in. Toddlose - thanks for the Bardreau video. I watched it in slow motion and I think Mike's anger was appropriate.by Icy - Hockey
Re: 2014 ECAC Early Departures - 10 years ago
I'm sorry to see him go. In my opinion though, he wasn't developing a lot as a hockey player while he was at Cornell. Maybe he wanted to get into a professional program where he would be coached differently. This is just speculation on my part.by Icy - Hockey

Re: LP Games - 10 years ago
Tough loss for Cornell. Let's face it, Union has a great team. I hope they win the whole thing now. Looking forward to 2015 season. If no one leaves Cornell early, the team should be outstanding. Thank you Andy Iles, Craig Esposito, Roger Craig, Armand de Swardt, Kirill Gotovets, and Dustin Mowrey.by Icy - Hockey
Re: LP Games - 10 years ago
Hey Dutchman, I hope no one gets hurt in the game. We just want to win and play you guys again in April. Good luck for the rest of the season.by Icy - Hockey
200' x 100': does it matter? - 10 years ago
How important is the size of the skating surface for the Cornell/Union game on Friday?by Icy - Hockey
Re: Game 3: Cornell 1, Clarkson 0 (OT) - 10 years ago
The Bardreau save at 12:30 in the first period, part 2: (1) Josephs brings the puck to his forehand (2) Shoots as Bardreau dives in front of him (3) And Bardreau blocks the shot with his stick.by Icy - Hockey
Re: Game 3: Cornell 1, Clarkson 0 (OT) - 10 years ago
The Bardreau save at 12:30 in the first period, part 1: (1) Sexton takes a backhand shot from the slot (2) Iles makes the save, but the rebound slides to his left (3) Josephs makes a backhand grab of the puck, wide open net.by Icy - Hockey
Re: Game 3: Cornell 1, Clarkson 0 (OT) - 10 years ago
The OT goal was classic Cornell. They kept Clarkson pinned in their own end for a minute and a half. Off the faceofff in the Cornell end, they started with Kubiak, Freschi, J. McCarron, MacDonald, and Gotovets. During the shift they changed to Ferlin, Widiner, Bardraux, Ryan and Lewis. I didn't see Clarkson change anyone and they slowly tired out.by Icy - Hockey
Re: Game 3: the race to 4 goals.. 1 ends up enough - 10 years ago
I think it was Bardreau and not Iles who blocked Josephs' shot at the open net in the first period. Bardreau plays at a much higher level than most and is fun to watch.by Icy - Hockey

BC loses, UNH winsby Icy - Hockey
Re: Game 2: Cornell 1, Clarkson 4 - 10 years ago
If Quinnipiac beats Colgate, Colgate likely drops out of the top 16. A Cornell win over Clarkson and loss to Union may just barely be enough to get the Big Red to #15.by Icy - Hockey
