I have to be a traitor to all the Rangers fans here and root for the Hometown Hero Dustin Brown and the rest of the LA Kings team.by carpy85 - Hockey

Natyshak (Career Improvement): Craig- He may not NEARLY be the strongest player, but I remember that he used to not play much at all and now he has played almost every game this season on the third line and he turned into a great player to stir up some emotions from the other team. MacFarlane (Transcendent Beauty): Ferlin Gage (Support): Hilbrich Shippel (Scrappiness): Ryan Schafer (Leaderby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth @ Cornell 2/28/14 - 10 years ago
Trotsky Sounds as if the Harvard goalie also stole the Colgate game. Lets all hope Colgate tuckered out the Harvard goalie. I am not sure if McDonald will be playing though judging by how he limped off late in the third period. I don't recall him playing another shift after limping back to the bench.by carpy85 - Hockey

In Columbus tonight to support Greening! GOOD LUCK COLIN!by carpy85 - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence @ CU 1/24/14 - 10 years ago
I have to admit that I was disappointed in Iles tonight. He was not focused all night. I had seen him twice allow St.law score because he jumped way too quick. Ferlin and Hilbrich worked great togeather tonight and gave a few points on the board between the two.by carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Red Hot Hockey - 10 years ago
TimV Paper said no live broadcast. I thought I saw someplace that MSG or MSG+ was showing the game. Anybody know? This will be the first year I don't go. I checked the TV schedule for Saturday and there is no listings for Red Hot Hockey.by carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Momentum for Brown & Yale - 10 years ago
sah67 According to the box score, Buckles was given a Game DQ for the scuffle at the final horn, so we'll lose him for the Yale game tomorrow night. The Brown player was given only a game misconduct for face-masking, as opposed to Buckles's DQ for fighting. The refs weren't exactly for cornell in their calls. I had seen much worse fights than the Buckles fight that gave him the DQ, but on the oby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: 11/9 Union - 10 years ago
Dafatone It's November 10th. Also, as we learned last year, Bardreau is a really, really important piece of this team. But mostly, it's November 10th. Agreed; the team is still finding is stride and chemistry. This year we have a large freshman class who isn't used to playing a game one night and turn around and play another game the next night. Bardreau has been out again which I am sureby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: 11/8 RPI - 10 years ago
To put it simply; a penalty was drawn at Ryan's second goal with about two minutes to go in the game. The game was then 2-3 RPI. From that penalty Iles got pulled making it a 6 on 4 game where Mowery scored the tying goal.by carpy85 - Hockey
Re: MSG - 10 years ago
I have a feeling that the Yale vs. Harvard game will be MSG's quietest yet. Most of the people who will be attending are NYC natives looking for something to do.by carpy85 - Hockey
Re: York 10/19/13 - 10 years ago
I have no doubts Iles will continue the full year between the pipes. The only two York goals came when Gillam was at net whom I am sure is not quite ready for NCAA speed. The freshman class is looking strong, but I think there are a few guys on the entire team who need to keep from making dumb penalties. I thought that Ferlin looked like he is still struggling to find a way to put the Puck in theby carpy85 - Hockey

I understand Cole Bardreau getting the "A" this year, but I'm baffled by John McCarron getting the "C".by carpy85 - Hockey

Re: Quarterfinals at Q - 11 years ago
billhoward CHN The ECAC suspended Quinnipiac forward Bryce Van Brabant "in accordance with the League’s supplemental discipline process," as the result of his actions in Friday's game against Cornell. The League action was taken after review of an incident that occurred in first period in the teams' quarterfinal playoff game. Cornell won Game 1. Based upon the League’s action, Vanby carpy85 - Hockey

Trotsky OTOH, "ogre-like Cornell defenders" has a nice ring, much like "hordes from the North." They forgot that two of our biggest guys are forwards!by carpy85 - Hockey
Re: U @ Cornell - Senior Night 2013 - 11 years ago
marty Trotsky rediceNow, it seems that the players just can't resist the urge to stand in there & elevate the mood with their "yapping". I expect they justify some of it by thinking that they're inciting the opponents into penalties. But, the record shows it's clearly not working out well for them. This is why Schafer calls these penalties "selfish." The players are iby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Q @ CU - 11 years ago
nyc94 It would appear people are moving further along in the Five Stages of Grief. Some have already reached Acceptance. Accepting that this year is over sounds the most logic at this point. I dont doubt anyone who accepts that this is a terrible season. Personally I think that the team is just starting to accept that their heart and soul was taken from them when Cole Bardreau got the season eby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Q @ CU - 11 years ago
Scersk '97 I don't know. They played reasonably well, from what I saw. It was, after all, an incredibly fluky first goal, and that changes the tenor of the game. So, they didn't beat the #1 team in the nation. So what? To do so would really be asking too much at this point. Get them in the tournament, perhaps. I'm more concerned about the Browns, Clarksons, and Harvards. I agree. I thoby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Clark - 11 years ago
MattS Johnny 5 dag14As fans we may ring our hands and lament the premature end to the season. But these guys are living it. Don't think for a minute they are content with where they are, or willing to throw in the towel. Maybe the fans should back off a little. I'm sure many fans would be willing to "back off" if there appeared to be even the slightest change in the behavior that iby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Clark - 11 years ago
BearLover Honestly, they just suck. Almost no one on the entire team can contribute on both ends of the ice. Throw in a subpar year from Iles and idiotic penalties and it's not surprising they're at the bottom of the ECAC. I wouldn't be surprised if Ferlin and Lowry bolt after this season. Everyone this year is having a bad year except for Bardreau until he got hurt with a neck fracture. I donby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Clark - 11 years ago
css228 jftf1958 ithacat Obviously, the problems are deeper than just the goalie position. A look at the team rankings on a national scale would ruin the best buzz. The good news is college hockey isn't a relegation sport. The bad news is the team is without Cole Bardreau. PS, the team is 1-7 without Bardreau. I agree, the current situation is not specifically any one individuals fault the accoby carpy85 - Hockey
Re: Big Line-up Changes for Brown Game - 11 years ago
I think schafer was thinking this was an easy win for the team resulting in the line changes taking out some of our best players and placing guys who haven't played all season. I seriously think it was one of coaches biggest mistakes yet.by carpy85 - Hockey
Re: CU vs Yale - 11 years ago
scoop85 It was a bit bizarre how Birch lost his footing on two occasions, with the second time almost costing us the game in the last minute of regulation. I wonder if there was something wrong with Birches skates because I noticed Sean was doing something with his skates during the last media time-out.by carpy85 - Hockey

marty McCarron is on the ice. Appeal? Is that why he's here? McCarrons offence was dropped and given to Rodger Craig.by carpy85 - Hockey

I had found myself at least three different times thoughout the video. I had no idea there was even a camera pointed in my direction through the entire game. I can see myself the best when the alum were doing the old style cowbell chant; I was the goober with my Ipod trying to take a picture haha!by carpy85 - Hockey
