Congrats on a great series. You deserved all the wins. The better team is moving on. Good luck going forward and especially the NCAA's.by Dutchman - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
Good luck against BU. Make the ECAC proud. BU will be tough. A top seed has the best chance of making it to the F4. I think if you can get by BU you will make the F4.by Dutchman - Hockey
Re: Rankings - 7 years ago
I have heard that there is no tie-breaker for the Cleary Cup. Can teams share it? Do you know if this is correct? If it is correct, is there a mathematical possibility that Cornell, Union, and Harvard could share the Cleary Cup?by Dutchman - Hockey

Congrats on a well deserved win !!! Good luck in Connecticut.by Dutchman - Hockey
Re: Estero 2015 - 8 years ago
Good luck against Providence. You are the biggest team (#1 in height and #2 in weight) in College Hockey. Pound the stuffing out of them and then do the same against BC the next night. The whole ECAC is pulling for you. We don't get these opportunities against ranked HE teams often, got to take advantage. Nothing to lose here. The pressure is on Providence. They have not been tested. May the hockby Dutchman - Hockey

OOC wins are critical if you want to make it to the NCAA's. We are (#26). So where does the ECAC stand? Thby Dutchman - Hockey

GREAT WIN CORNELL !!!!! HUDGE WIN FOR THE ECAC. PLEASE, ..... WE NEED A SWEEP !!!!!!!by Dutchman - Hockey
Re: Strength of Schedule - 9 years ago
You could help yourself and the whole league by taking out Denver (twice) and winning that Florida Tournament thing. We (ECAC) need the OOC wins !!!by Dutchman - Hockey
Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
Looking over the ECAC at this point, I still believe that I am correct in my assumption that the league is stronger than it was last year. This is due in part to a stronger group of IVY's, as a whole. The competition within the league should get pretty savage in the coming weeks. The question is, will this lead to more ECAC teams making the NCAA's than in previous years. I believe the answer is nby Dutchman - Hockey

Re: ECAC 2014-15 - 9 years ago
I believe the ECAC has about 72 Out of Conference (non-exhibition) games coming up starting today and extending into January. The non-ivy's have gotten the league off to a good start for the most part and the Ivy's are continuing and building on that (Thank you Harvard !!!). IMO the ECAC has never been more competitive in the past 5 years as it is this year. However, that is just an opinion and tby Dutchman - Hockey

I am also an RPI Alumnus (MS, PhD Computer Science) as well as a BSEE from Union. In the early mid 1970' the classes at RPI in Hartford were filled with engineers from Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky, Turbo Power and Marine, United Aircraft as well as programmers from all the insurance companies that resided in Hartford, like Aetna and The Hartford. Re: Andy Iles by the numbers - 9 years ago
"Iles recently concluded a storied career with his hometown Big Red by going 16-10-5 with a 2.17 goals-against average and .919 percentage — of which the latter two numbers tie career-bests. He was named the Ivy League Player of the Year, ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year, a Senior CLASS Award First Team All-American, an All-Ivy League First Team selection and an All-ECAC Hockey Secondby Dutchman - Hockey
Re: 2015 Way Too Early Predictions - 10 years ago
The seniors on the Union team, Carr, Bodie, Sullivan, Hatch, Ikkala, and the Ghost (jr), refused to accept defeat as an outcome. Their combined leadership cannot be replaced. There is no way we can reload fast enought. We are going to be tough, but doubtful we end up on top of the ECAC. Someone elses turn.by Dutchman - Hockey
Re: LP Games - 10 years ago
Cornell will be very tough. They are physically the biggest team in College Hockey in both height and weight. The last time we played you we needed stretcher bearers to carry off our dead and wounded during the ceasefire. I think we lost three starters from that game and that really hurt, especially Carr. It was very costly. Cornell is well disciplined, always follows through on their checks andby Dutchman - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid Attendance - 10 years ago
One way to get around the housing shortage in LP is to rent a house. This way a big group of students can stay together, have all the convenience of a frat house and party afterwards. Many are very close to the rink. All the hotels are booked and were going at about $400/night. The ECAC staff apparently booked 1/2 of the Marriott. Union is the closest school and there are several buses but I wondby Dutchman - Hockey

Re: Union @ CU 2/14/14 - 10 years ago
profudge Question: Anyone else notice that Dan Carr seemed to be injured in first half of first period and went to locker room w/ 6 min. left in period. I don't think he returned to ice for Union - any info ? Carr headed for the lockers after the first period and his arm was in a sling after the game. Does not look good for us. A very costly win. We can't afford to have him out too long. Heby Dutchman - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Ferris State In Progress - 12 years ago
Great Season Cornell. We were hoping two ECAC teams would make it to Tampa. ECAC 3-1 so far in the tournament. Not bad. Hope to improve on that on April 5.by Dutchman - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Michigan 2 post game - 12 years ago
Great Win Cornell. ECAC is 2-0, The last time an ECAC team make the F4 I think was in 2003 and I think it was Cornell. Good luck today !!! You can beat Ferris. They squeezed by a badly damaged Denver team. Hope to see you in Tampa !!!! PS Great defense and goal tending.by Dutchman - Hockey
