ScrewBU Johnny 5 ChipJ 4-0 now. We are getting wiped off the ice. Ugly. 7 shots for 2 periods. McCarron takes an ugly/unnecessary penalty while we're on the PP. Isles going down on almost every shot. Team skating like they're on 'ludes. WTF, guys!!!??? This is what you get every year with coach Schafer. Play the same ineffective game. Cheap shots. Dives. Gutless, heartless. Jim Hyla Four CU nominees for Patty Kazmaier Award. Senior Rebecca Johnston, juniors Laura Fortino and Lauriane Rougeau and sophomore Brianne Jenner all made the cut to the final 30 student-athletes. 4/30 ain't bad. Fortino and Rougeau...were two of just five defensemen to make the cut And I like this. The Big Red's four Patty Kazmaier nominees will have a chance to bolster their résuméby redbear_71 - Hockey

underskill Garman split with Iles b/c last year was a rebuilding year, and by the time the team was ready to compete nationally again, Garman would've been gone anyways, plus Iles was a blue-chip recruit, so it makes sense to play him and get him ready for the future. Marozzi was a last minute backup addition. I'm sure the ideal goal is to bring in Iles' true successsor likely during his seniorby redbear_71 - Hockey

The gap in ability is big enough that the coaching staff doesn't really have a choice but to ride Iles. We've been in this position before. I'm sure they are beavering away looking for prospects, and they do have an emergency back-up. It would appear there is more to this than an aby redbear_71 - Hockey

Scersk '97 That wasn't wholly disappointing. Frustrating, as Chewbacca says, but not disappointing. Whenever you are behind the first-place team in your conference (on the road) after one, come back to lead in the second, and then hold on for at least a tie, it's not bad. My questions are these: (1) When is Espo coming back? All you have to do is look at our record when he is absent andby redbear_71 - Hockey

Oh...exciting times... we WILL do it! Al DeFlorio Ben Losses and ties by Minnesota and da Badgers are letting us back in this. If we win out (very tough, but possible) and they drop a few games each, we might be the top seed. Maybe.Four more games against the current TUC list (Harvard, Dartmouth, Clarkson twice) will be important. Three are on the road. Record against TUCs now is 2-2. Wiscoby redbear_71 - Hockey
