jtn27Brian, unless I've been grossly misreading your columns (not likely), they seem to be exactly what Kyle is describing. Here are just a few excerpts from your latest x-rated column: "the Engineers... blew the Big Red" "enjoy a night’s 'rest' in its own bed" (internal quotes added) "coronary-inducing" "the gate was shut and locked for the frustrated Ivyby Brian Sullivan - Hockey

Kyle Rose jtn27 The Ithaca Journal is perhaps best known for sucking. I don't think that there's any question that the Sun is the best paper in Ithaca (although as a Sun writer I am a bit biased). What percentage of columnists these days are exhibitionists posing as sex experts? I think back when I was a student it was close to 100%.*raises hand*by Brian Sullivan - Hockey

Trotsky Brian SullivanOh, I don't need any reminding... the paycheck serves plenty notice that I'm not exactly working for the Washington Post here. The sad thing about journalism is, you may actually be drawing the same pay as a WaPo reporter now. ...and that's why I'm currently enrolled in a masters program: to get the full-time job that will allow me to happily continue the part-time job (sby Brian Sullivan - Hockey

Trotsky Jim Hyla Aaron M. Griffin It is from the most recent ECAC article from USCHO.If you haven't looked at it, check out the Union grad's comment and Brian Sullivan's response. "an awful lot of time on your hands", indeed.I dunno; If I were a blogger on a tiny niche sports site, I probably wouldn't slag the only reader who actually took the time to respond to my article, though.by Brian Sullivan - Hockey

munchkinHe really like to play Risk and Monopoly, I've never seen him play Civ. No, I'm not really a big fan of Monopoly, actually. And I don't know what "Civ" is... Civilization? I just happen to possess a working knowledge of medieval warfare. And Cornell hockey, more than anyone else, reminds me of medieval warfare.by Brian Sullivan - Hockey

Not that anyone asked, but I'll be at the Crown Plaza, proudly wearing The Shirt ... once I'm off USCHO's clock, of course. Go ECAC Hockey, and LGR!by Brian Sullivan - Hockey

Well I'll be at the Crown Plaza this weekend, but trust me.. I'm pulling for the Big Red and I'll follow that crowd. A few rounds Friday, anybody? (And hopefully Saturday too...)by Brian Sullivan - Hockey

David Harding I have e-mailed the writer pointing out that she missed the most interesting angle of the story and referring her to this thread. As did I, actually. It's the speed and the viral nature of the process that has me so fascinated!by Brian Sullivan - Hockey

Is it a quote? I'm not about to make this a legal matter of course - I am, as they say, just honored to be here - but the phrase was undeniably my creation. For the record, USCHO does pay me. Not much, of course, but I am compensated for my work ... and yes, my paycheck is worth more than a t-shirt. It would cover at least two, I think. For whatever it may ultimately be worth, I'd prefer/reqby Brian Sullivan - Hockey

hockeychick470 sitting back looking at it, i don't think we need the "Cornell Hockey" on the back Might that be copyright/trademark infringement? Just a thought ... "Big Red Hockey" is not, to the best of my knowledge, a defensibly unique phrase.by Brian Sullivan - Hockey
Re: Dream-Crushing, Soul-Devouring Juggernaut Shirts - 14 years ago
I'm sincerely honored that I've been able to coin something with some staying power! So long as I get a copy of the shirt at some point, I say go nuts with the design. So long as you don't twist the words too much - and find some way of attributing USCHO, if not myself - that's all I care about. I really look forward to (hopefully) seeing some of these in Albany or, with any luck, Detroit!by Brian Sullivan - Hockey
