Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - 4 days ago
mike1960 Cornell lacrosse won. Cornell won the ECAC hockey championship. Arujau wins another national title in wrestling. A very good day! Yes it was. The only downer is Brian Earl leaving.by Ken711 - Other Sports

ugarte Ken711 upprdeck maybe his style its an easier path to the tourney for him? Or having to face Yale and their 7 foot center for 2 more years.Or he'd rather live in Virginia than Ithaca? That too perhaps. I lived in Williamsburg for a time. Much better weather obviously, and cheaper to live (taxes, housing, etc).by Ken711 - Other Sports

I'm surprised as well. I guess he's cashing out while he had such a strong season. This will be the second major men's sport opening Nicki Moore will be looking to fill. I hope she gets it right.by Ken711 - Other Sports

rss77 Also don't forget that Josh Baldwin who was the top freshman last year should be back from recovering from a blown ACL. Hopefully Earl can get a power forward too. As we have seen from the few years-the best way to beat Cornell is to attack inside. Brown University's big guys will be back next year to raise havoc too. Brown returns their whole starting 5 I believe.by Ken711 - Other Sports
Cornell vs Ohio State NIT game - Preview - 9 days ago
Tonight’s game marks the ninth all-time meeting with Cornell, but the teams haven’t met since Jan. 24, 1969 when the Buckeyes beat the Big Red 96-78 in Cleveland. Ohio State is 34-18 all-time against the Ivy League. The last time the Buckeyes squared off with a team from the conference was back in the 2007-08 season, when they beat Columbia 68-54 in Columbus as part of the NIT Season Tip-Off.by Ken711 - Other Sports

CAS Andy did hire Matt Kerwick, Bill Courtney, Tim Pendergast and many others who weren’t very successful at Cornell. Not everyone is congratulating Andy for keeping Dave Archer (29-71) for 11 years so his successor could hire the new coach. It took him 11 years and a decision to retire to finally realize that hiring David Archer was not working? OKby Ken711 - Other Sports

MattShaf Last second Pole Goal for a Win was phenomenal! but I am glad to get off that roller coaster ride of a game. Lots of stuff to clean up but, An Ivy League win v Princeton is an awesome way to spend a Sunday afternoon Especially to win on the road at Princeton.by Ken711 - Other Sports

At least Princeton losing to Brown may take Mitch Henderson out of the Stanford vacancy I hope and the risk of Earl filling his place.by Ken711 - Other Sports

Re: Cornell at Columbia hoops - 19 days ago
ugarte nyc94 upprdeck Prin 2-0 vs brown takes the Ivy even if they lose They would get the #1 seed but the Ivy title is still shared, right?yes, i think so Correct. But I think Princeton takes care of business in Philly.by Ken711 - Other Sports

chimpfood I’d hope they practice outside if they plan on playing outside. When feasible sure.by Ken711 - Other Sports
Re: Ohio State @ Cornell lax 3/2 - 25 days ago
marty upprdeck I don't see anyway they play a game like yesterday inside. There were games all over this weekend played in much worse weather and far worse rain. What odds are you giving? Will the facility be done by next season? Nope. The plan is winter 2026.by Ken711 - Other Sports

74-71 Princeton 1:07. Oh well they gave them a good run. See them again at the ILT.by Ken711 - Other Sports
Re: Men’s Basketball 23-24 - 26 days ago
chimpfood Does anyone know if we get the one seed if we win out? I though yale had the tiebreaker over us (NET rating), but the Ivy League standings currently have Princeton, then Cornell, then Yale. Tall task to beat Princeton at Princeton tomorrow.by Ken711 - Other Sports

upprdeck In the long run as long as we beat Col/Penn the Princeton game was going to decide everything anyway. Losing to Brown doesn't do much to us, and perhaps kicks them in the butt. Need to use it as a wakeup call. Going to be tough to beat Princeton on the road. So far this season, none of the top three Cornell/Princeton/Yale have beaten the other away from their home court.by Ken711 - Other Sports
Re: New athletic director Nicki Moore - 5 weeks ago
upprdeck i would not be surprised if the SEC would be paying 5-10x as much as cornell. Yes, you're not going to be anywhere in the same ballpark salary wise. Hope she sticks around, but being a graduate of Missouri probably has some pull.by Ken711 - Other Sports
Re: New athletic director Nicki Moore - 5 weeks ago
A name to watch as Missouri now begins a search for an AD. Nicki Moore. She's currently Athletic Director at Cornell, but oversaw football and other North Carolina sports in a deputy role, and was also at Oklahoma. MU grad who ran track in the late 1990s.by Ken711 - Other Sports
