Re: Why the hate/dislike of Cornell? - 14 years ago
My bad...I didn't realize that the author is an ECAC guy.....I envisioned some hockey writer in St. Paul trying to figure out a way to eliminate any team east of Lansing, MI. Why not just title it: "Bubble teams, Who's in, who's out? Cornell" Seemed too specific and negative. "Never mind" LGR!by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Why the hate/dislike of Cornell? - 14 years ago
I'm a semi-regular reader of the web page www.uscho.com and am slightly surprised/dismayed by the blog posting: "How to keep Cornell Out" refering to what combination of teams winning and losing will keep the Red out of the Tourney. Why? Is it our style of play, are teams scared to face us?? We beat UND, UNH, tied BU...we are a good team, that I believe hasn't hit its stride all year...by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: Polls 2/22 - 14 years ago
Well it is easy to dwell on such an abysmal loss to D'mouth...we did win over 'Gate and Sucks, and the Yale loss being only one goal late...looks ok to someone sitting in Minnesota voting....even though we know it should have been 5-1.by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
vs. Brown - 14 years ago
I hope the team isn't looking past Brown, the way this forum is!by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: Cleary - 14 years ago
broken stick....down 5-0, win 6-5? Fawcett was a sieve? I tried to forget the 11-3 debacle.by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: Cleary - 14 years ago
I was at Lynah the night Shafer cleared the puck out of the o zone and into the Harvard bench and missed Cleary by inches or feet....1985 or 1986, classic stuff when the old guy jumped up on the dasher and screamed at Shaf.....might have gotten a minor penalty out of it. Same night he broke his stick over his head during pre-game! Na, different yr.by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac photos & comments - 14 years ago
I'm one row above the frame in the Cornell crowd shot....granted I was sitting with the QU AD, but my daughter and I were proudly covered in Cornell garb. Great pictures. I love the one with the QU fans all texting and what not, as the Bobcats continue the worst 2nd half in ECAC history. The win over the 'Gate not withstanding.by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac roll call - 14 years ago
Should be a great time. I'll be there with my brood. My 10 yr. old loves the Big Red and had her first visit to Lynah for the Saturday NDakota game after catching several road games at the Q, the Whale, and even Union! Considering we live in northern CT, the Union playoff game in '08-09 was a trek! My 4 year old asked me why we never yelled "it's all your fault" at the Sioux goalie...haby sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Did anyone else see this video? BU at MSG? - 14 years ago
Well we all believe it is well past the time to move on....I was surfing earlier this am and found this video, the first I had seen of the tieing goal....as well as our second on the breakaway. Around 4:30 in is the equalizer. Couple observations....I hear no whistle, but we were all pretty loud at the time. Greening's defensive effort on the feeds to the slot area is weird, out of balance, anby sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: CU on TV - 14 years ago
Does anyone have any idea if the annual Florida swing will be picked up on TV? With a solid field, one would hope/wish/dream that we'd be able to see it somehow...thoughts?by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: Sleeping Bear? - 14 years ago
Oops. The Indiana game in '87 still stings.by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: Sleeping Bear? - 14 years ago
Trotsky BU hasn't even made the ECAC tournament since 1985. That's hilarious! Not really.by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Re: Sleeping Bear? - 14 years ago
The "rich" history is outlined on the right margin of this forum. If you mean all history is measured only by NC's and not overall success then its a good thing Boehiem got his 2 at SU and Elway got his SB. The 11 ECAC's and 19 Ivy titles would lead one to believe that Cornell has a pretty rich one. Some of those ECAC titles were over the Terriers....by sigmanu@CU - Hockey
Sleeping Bear? - 14 years ago
Hello gang, frequent reader, new member/poster...don't hold my forum name against me!?! Did anyone feel that we were "out marketed" Saturday night? The reason I ask is that in my section (88) there seemed like quite a few boys dressed like recruits I thought if you looked at the big picture, BU "sold" themselves better. The opening video compared to ours was laughable. Weby sigmanu@CU - Hockey
