The student season tickets did not sell out.by Drew042 - Hockey
Re: Weekend Not Yet a Sellout - 17 years ago
Of interest, ithacat is right in that the student ticket allotment did not sell out. While I was picking up tickets today and ran into one of the ticket office gurus they said that they still had reams of student tickets that were not sold. I was shocked and then tried to convince him that I was still a student...no such luckby Drew042 - Hockey

On that note, last I talked to Gene about where I was on the list for season tickets, he said that at the current rate it would take me 125 years to get season ticketsby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: Pick The Quarter-Finals - 18 years ago
OK, since I have acquired tickets to the CUx2 games I will throw in my picks: SLU(t)s over Harvard 2-1 Dartmouth over Yale 2-0 'Gate over the deerticks 2-0 Big Red over Big Goons 2-1by Drew042 - Hockey
Re: onion/rip road trip roll call - 18 years ago
My wife and I will be at both games. As of last week there were lots of tickets left at Cornell. Drewby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth @ Lynah post game thread 2/17/06 - 18 years ago
Great game by Bitz tonight. I thought he was the most dominating player on the ice. Good to see Sasha back, although coach needs to somehow get it through the players heads not to grab the puck and hurtle it down the ice. That is the third time (at least) that I have seen them take that penalty this year. Thought McKee played great as well, especially in the third period where he made severalby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Chat on CSTV.com - 18 years ago
In an effort to return this to a ECAC POTY discussion...Although it is realistic to think that a Cornell player may win; the fact of the matter is that no one on our team is deserving of the league award. Moulson has been absent for long streches of games this year. McKee, although playing strong lately, still has too low of a save percentage. I personally would vote for Burton or Trevelyan.by Drew042 - Hockey

Re: US Olympians - 18 years ago
I wonder if we could convince Age to set up a new forum dedicated to allowing the Clarkson alums on this board (all 2 of you) and all the Cornell alums to get together and discuss the latin derivation and subliminal meaning of the word goon. Then we can dissect each player over the last three decades and see which players fit the goon mode and the ones that don't. Then we can tally it up and seby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell postgame thread (2/21/06) - 18 years ago
RichS- I have been an avid Cornell hockey fan since '97 and I am sure that I do see things with my Cornell tinted glasses, much like you see things with your Clarkson glasses. However, that does not negate the fact in every Clarkson game that I have ever been to, as the game nears a close, you begin to wonder which Clarkson player is going to go off the deep end and try to hurt an opposing playby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell postgame thread (2/21/06) - 18 years ago
Great game tonight. I think that this was the best all around weekend the Sasha has had all year. He shoed great poise is skating the puck out of the zone and controlling play in the defensive end. The team as a whole played realy well together and all the freshman are really doing well. I especially like how Kennedy played this weekend. That said, ever since I started waching Cornell hockby Drew042 - Hockey

I don't know, I enjoyed the Jeopardy theme music. Even the Princeton fans around us laughed when I yelled "What is Princeton sucks"by Drew042 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Quinnipiac postgame - 18 years ago
For those who need even more confirmation about the short handed non-goal by Cornell; we were on the goal line in Section O and the Q defenseman clearly batted the puck and stopped in from going into the net. A great play by him. I agree that Q outskated us pretty much the first 40 min., they were clearly quicker and outhustled us in the corners. However, great character win for Cornell andby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: CU vs. Princeton Post-game - 18 years ago
Decent game by CU; although they are still plagued by defensive lapses that that you think would have been corrected by now. Princeton really is a terrible hockey team. Sawada played one of the better games that he has played this year and Carefoot looked solid in his return from injury. The rest of the team was decent and no one had a real terrible night. Krantz seems to have righted the shby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: sun article on hockey fans - 18 years ago
As much as I did not want to dignify this article with a response, I thought some might be interested in the following conversation I had at the game tonight with the father of one of the Princeton players. He said that by far all the players on Princeton team (and Dartmouth for which his younger son plays for) believe that coming to Cornell to play every year is the best game of the year. Re: Union 2 @ Cornell 1 (postgame thread 11/18/05) - 18 years ago
Just back from the game; here are a few notes: *Seminoff probably played the best of any of the defenseman, he was solid and did not make nearly as many mistakes as he did the weekend against MSU. However, he is still being beat off the puck as noted by the penalty he took in the first. *As I have said in previous posts, O'Byrne is simply not fit to be the top defenseman on this team. He maby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: MSU 4, Cornell 3 post-game (game 2) thread - 18 years ago
Well, I was very confused on the Kindret/Pegs thing. Thanks for clearing that up!!! I will agree that Krantz was terrible, consistently boggled and fumbled with the puck. I guess I just expect Pokuluk and O'Byrne to show more maturity and handle the puck better than they did. They both still have incredible shots from the point and I think they need to utilize them more. I agree that Gleed nby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: MSU 4, Cornell 3 post-game (game 2) thread - 18 years ago
A few notes from the game: *I think that tonight showed the weakness of the Big Red; we have a young defense that is prone to mistakes as well as some older defensemen who should know better. O'Byrne and Pokuluk both were terrible tonight. O'Bryne should know better than to make that pass while on the pp. Seminoff unfortunately is having a tough transition from Juniors. I think that theby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 MSU 2 post game-1 thread - 18 years ago
Great game last night; the crowd was as good as I have seen it in quite some time. A few notes from where I was sitting in Section O (I know, I suck ): *Barlow's penalty was at most a 2 min. minor; not sure if it was a make up call or not, but the timing was brutal. *As per Freshman I was most impressed by Mugford and Barlow (before his early exit). The play where Mugford outhustled 4 MSU pby Drew042 - Hockey

Re: the next question: what to do in Albany? - 19 years ago
I will put a plug in for a couple places: -For those with kids, the New York State Museum, though severely underfunded (thank you Georgie...) is a very pleasant musuem and they usually have a few good special exhibits and a lot of things for kids. -If you decide to head east to my hometown Troy I would recommend The Plum Blossom on Rte. 7. Re: Albany ticket suggestions - 19 years ago
Tickets were $24 for students. They were regular price ($46) for general public. Smartly, they actually had two lines to make the process a little easier. Tickets were going fast when I was there around noon, but they still had plenty left.by Drew042 - Hockey

Re: Cornell-Clarkson postgame thread (no scores updates) - 19 years ago
-Yeah, I agree that O'Bryne can be decent at times, but still he gives me ulcers when he handles the puck at times behind the net...and then other times he can bring it out and beat the other team to the other end of the ice. -I also thought the McKee was a little shaky in the first period (I wonder how much that first goal got under his skin). He definetly got better by the end of the game aby Drew042 - Hockey

Re: Cornell-Clarkson postgame thread (no scores updates) - 19 years ago
-I thought that Hynes, Pegs and Scott were consistenly the best players on the ice. Whenever one of them touched the puck they tried to make things happen more than the rest of the team. O'Bryne and Krantz I thought were the worst of our players. Maybe this will teach O'Byrne to stop bringing the puck in front of the net like that!!! I thought that Krantz was caught out of position more thanby Drew042 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5 Clarkson 0 postgame thread - 19 years ago
-I thought the team played one of its best games in recent weeks. Yes, they sat back in the third period and Clarkson brought it a bit more than they had been, but with a 5 goal lead and Clarkson cleary tying to bait any Cornell player into a fight, I am ok with that. -Iggulden continues to play out of his mind. He is a force everytime he sets foot on the ice (never thought I would say that )by Drew042 - Hockey

Re: Cornell Union postgame thread - 19 years ago
My 2 cents on the game: -I am impressed with Glover, with him out there our defense does not miss a step. He fights for every puck and does not back down from anyone. He also handles the puck quite well. Salmela is decent too, although I wish he would shoot more since last year it appeared he had such a great shot from point. -I thought that Union did a great job early on of covering ourby Drew042 - Hockey
