With Minnesota, Northeastern and Mercyhurst winning auto bids, Cornell women left out of the NCAA tournament.by Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey

Exciting finish to the game. I thought the Clarkson announcer left a bit to be desired, but Clarkson didn't have to televise that game so thanks to them. With Cornell's loss, but more importantly Minnesota's win in the WCHA semifinals last night, Cornell fell from 6th to 7th in the pairwise if you exclude Saint Anselm from the rankings. With Mercyhurst from outside the top eight getting the CHby Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey
Re: Road trips. - 6 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 Tom Pasniewski 98 Well, road tripping took a back seat big time when we left New England a few years ago. So, video is pretty much all I've got these days. But, the wife and son and I are leaving Kansas in the morning and driving to Ithaca for both games this weekend. We'll be in Section C. Then after spending the week in Boston, we'll be coming back west via the games at RPIby Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey
Re: Road trips. - 6 years ago
billhoward Kansas to Ithaca is 1300, 1500 miles? That's loyalty to Cornell hockey. I thought 6 hours to Potsdam was heroic. It's about 1150, but with having to be in Boston all of next week, it just makes sense. Okay, it probably doesn't make sense to those who aren't fans, but it makes sense to my non-Cornell, but sports-loving wife, and that's all that matters in this equation.by Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey

Re: Miami 12/1-2 - 6 years ago
Jim - I've been contemplating this trip for awhile to add a state that I've never seen hockey in, besides the fact that it could well be the closet Cornell gets to me this season. My 18-month old will have a say in my final decision, which is never truly a yes till I walk out the door, but I should know if it's a no (and a likely yes) by tomorrow morning.by Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey

Al DeFlorio Beeeej Trotsky On the Cornell game ILDN feed the intermission clock is counting down now from 17:00, and the first game is listed on USCHO as final. I guess we're starting around 7:35, unless that countdown is only for the free skate in which case it'll be more like 7:50. When I try to get the feed, the intermission clock starts at 17:50, counts down to 17:07, then freezes and buffby Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Playoffs - 10 years ago
Just waiting for the purchase link to become active. I'll just hope that the game is archived. Got to do an airport run for the next couple of hours so I should be able to get to the recording if it becomes active by 10 p.m. local here tonight or certainly tomorrow morning before it expires. Thanks Jim.by Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey

Jim Hyla Drew Hello Guys, Will tonights game be video broadcast on the internet? Hope everyone has been well. I think only on America One. See ECAC announcement. The link to sign on is here. As an aside, has anyone ever bought an America One game on their mobile device? I'm interested in knowing whether if I do that, I can then later watch it VOD on my computer. Re: UNO - 10 years ago
Dafatone So uh, did we have any fan presence whatsoever? The "Hockey in Omaha" thread has me and one other poster, I think. I'm not expecting a huge Cornell crowd, but it'd be nice to be joining others, just a little, in some cheers. No, no real Cornell crowd to speak of in an otherwise well attended game. I will be right behind the Cornell bench tonight so perhaps a few folks willby Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey
Hockey In Omaha - 10 years ago
So, after many years in Boston, the Northeast and prime college hockey territory, the wife and I picked up and moved closer to her family this summer. This is the land of college football and college basketball and only one college hockey team anywhere within hundreds of miles. Fortunately, that nearby team is Nebraska-Omaha. So we'll be there for the pair of games later this month. The questby Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey
Re: Quarterfinals at Q - 11 years ago
RichH BearLover When's the last time Cornell beat the #1 team in the country? I'm just excited 1) To beat Trotsky to the punch and 2) I actually found something I was looking for on his site. 11/15/96 vs. UVM. That same team also tied #1 Michigan at Yost in January. Since then, CU has only played #1 (however Greg defines it in this chart) once until this season: the 4-3 loss to UHN inby Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey
Re: Quarterfinals at Q - 11 years ago
Jim Hyla dbilmes Tickets are being sold online through ticket office website. They're only selling tickets for Games 1 and 2 so they don't have to deal with refunds after we sweep the series. If by some chance there is a Game 3, fans will have to buy them at Q at the end of Game 2 on Saturday night. If there is a game 3, I hope they're smart enough to again have it at 5 PM. Johnny 5 marty Jim Hyla Jordan 04 113 seems like someone missed typing a digit. While obviously poorly attended, it seemed at least 1/3 full on the webcast. Maybe the first 1 is wrong, but it wasn't 1113. 713? The way they played it was more like 666. We should have won the previous meeting at Lynah! Here's hoping we keep it up tonight. January 25th Viewing Parties - 11 years ago
The Cornell Club of Boston will host a viewing party Friday evening for the Yale at Cornell hockey game at Angry Ham's Garage in Framingham. The Boston watch party has been folded into the Framingham watch party due to a lack of sign-ups for the Boston party after we decided not to go back to Pizzeria Regina after our November experience. Re: CU vs. Denver - 11 years ago
For Boston: Game On Fenway, meet up anytime after 9 p.m. They have agreed to put the video on but likely no audio. Hopefully not too crowded with folks still away for breaks and holidays. I may or may not be there. My friend Jonathan will be there at 9 to reserve space. Text him at 617-429-0075by Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey

Re: Women's Frozen Four Thread - 13 years ago
David Harding Jim Hyla mha I only got to four women's games this season, but I enjoyed every one of them. (My frequent road-trip habit means I miss most of the women's home games because I'm at the men's away games.) If I didn't feel as much of a connection as I do to the players on this year's men's team, and their parents, I'd be much more willing to let the annoyances piling up with Atlantic Cby Tom Pasniewski 98 - Hockey

Re: Lax: NCAA Quarterfinals - 13 years ago
Have to root for Stony Brook in the second game if only to have a final four where Cornell is the only team to have won a national championship thus giving us a Final Four that ends with either Cornell winning another title or another team is added to the relatively small list of NCAA DI champs.by Tom Pasniewski 98 - Other Sports
