David Harding The Ohio State University has won their battle to register as a trademark the word "The" when used on clothing or apparel. But have they copyrighted "TOSU"?by marty - Other Sports
Re: Ertel to OHL - 9 days ago
Dafatone Swampy Maybe Ertel is leaving because Cornell's academics were more than he bargained for. Didya ever think of that? Oh wait. He was is the hotel school. Nevermind. It's not like he's leaving for some easier school. It is possible that hotel school was more than he bargained for. After all, we were told in Intro to Political Philosophy that Wines is the most-failed class at Cornell.by marty - Hockey

Trotsky billhoward David Harding On the legacy athletic fields-buildings site (Hoy, Schoellkopf, Teagle, Lynah, Friedman and the decreasing # of Upper Alumni fields) Speaking of Teagle Hall, I didn't realize until a couple of weeks ago how Walter Teagle the source of his fortune and his role in WWII. Swampy arugula blackwidow Bye bye Ben Thank you to everyone who made the last three years at Cornell so special. I am extremely excited to say that I will be graduating from Cornell and transferring to Union College next season to continue my hockey career with @Unionmhockey pic.twitter.com/xoBzmPgeA3— Ben Tupker (@btupker_13) May 12, 2022 ?t=EM2d_NG1MyKX5ZewgSntLA&s=19 Forgive myby marty - Hockey

Re: Stanford 1, Cornell 0 - 7 weeks ago
Scersk '97 billhoward Scersk '97 John Doerr has absolutely no connection to Cornell that I can ascertain, just in case anyone was wondering. Nor with Stanford: Rice bachlors (ca. '73) and masters in engineering, Harvard MBA. His entire adult life has been in Silicon Valley, though. This is the second biggest university donation: Michael Bloomberg, Hopkins, $1.8B; Doerr, Stanford, $1.1B; .... Cornby marty - John Spencer Is Dead

George64 Cornell probably has most of the components in place and formed the Atkinson Center for Sustainability to pull it all together. I just hope that they don’t poach our faculty like they did in 1885, when the “Cornell of the West” was founded.Victor's. I've checked the transfer portal and so far we're safe.by marty - John Spencer Is Dead

George64 scoop85 George64 The art of the faceoff. Interesting D&C article about Rochester area faceoff specialists and technique. Comments by TD Ierlan. Victor Junior FOGO Sam Ricci, who’s 4th on the list in the article, is a Cornell recruit Victor is currently 11-0, and alma mater of Chase and TD Ierlan. Hail to the Victors.by marty - Other Sports
Re: 3x3 OT proven silly - 8 weeks ago
jtwcornell91 marty abmarks marty AHCA. There was lots of debate on this board about 3x3 OT and how little OT wins were valued. The article Marty found has has some actual quantitative analysis and is the best argument I've seen for playing traditional overtime and not this silly stuff. TLDR: ot wins and losses are irrelevant with current rules and might as well have just been ties.by marty - Hockey
Re: 3x3 OT proven silly - 8 weeks ago
Trotsky martyAn OT or shootout win feels good in the moment but skews the league ranking in one direction while having almost no effect on pairwise. Rather than "very little impact" it truly screws everything up. Also, like the shoot out and the DH, it aesthetically and morally degrades us both as individuals and as a species. In extra innings: "Who's on first?" No.by marty - Hockey

I was wondering about RPI's Zach Dubinsky in that regard. He also transferred to Michigan State. Interestingly, the 4 transfers to MSU all came from the ECAC. Trotsky If you enter the portal is that it for your current team? You don't gotta go home but you can't stay here? (I know McDonald can't come back for other reasons.) Re: Lake Placid roll call - 3 months ago
billhoward upprdeck as many of the ivy kids apply to several of the schools its not really selective anyway.. if 50K apply to the same 5 schools and they all take 10K it looks like each school only accepts 20% of applicants.. but is that really reflective of what happened. Sometimes when I think about admissions rates, selectivity, and yields, I'm never sure if cause and effect get confused.by marty - Hockey
