Re: Cornell-OSU game will be on DirecTV Channel 658 - 19 years ago
I just spoke to someone at Directv. She said if Altitude alternate is not broadcasting to DirecTV, there's nothing they can do. She said I can try calling Altitude. This doesn't give me confidence for our game. We'll see if it magically appears at 5pm Eastern. -Paragby PRR94 - Hockey

DeltaOne81 Wrote: Here's another point. Altitude alternate is carrying UNH vs. Harvard on Saturday right before our game. So if you call at 1:30 on Saturday and see if they can get the Harvard/UNH game on 658. If they do, that's even better news. We should know Friday, right? They are scheduled to broadcast BC/Mercyhurst in the afternoon. Also, sports bars do have to purchase Altiby PRR94 - Hockey

So is it possible that from an NCAA seeding perspective, Cornell is better off getting to but losing the ECAC final? Assuming they could still retain a #1 seed, this would make the last 3 seeds the ECAC, CHA, and MAAC tourney winners. This would decrease our odds of playing Providence in the first round and increase our odds of playing the CHA/MAAC to avoid a 1st round intraconference matchup wby PRR94 - Hockey
Re: Princeton Game - anyone going to New Jersey? - 21 years ago
After living in Long Island, Ithaca, and NJ, I'd say Jersey drivers are above average. You still gotta watch out for those SUV drivers that *think* they can drive normally in the snow.by PRR94 - Hockey
Re: Princeton Game - anyone going to New Jersey? - 21 years ago
Looks like I will be there with a few friends getting SRO tix. My first live game since last year's game @ Princeton. Can't wait! Anyone drinking locally somewhere after the game? Also, for those travelling, there are 1-3" of snow expected tonight with another 1-3" tomorrow.by PRR94 - Hockey

The only way there could be more sucking is if someone invites the Rangers.by PRR94 - Hockey
Re: Joe N. gets traded to Devils - 22 years ago
Beeeej, I'd go see the Devils, especially if they're playing the Isles! Although, I haven't seen the Nieuwendyk trade anywhere. Anyone have a link?by PRR94 - Hockey
Re: Red on TV in NYC? - 22 years ago
We were at the 10 West Bistro Sportz Bar & Grille (in the Ramada Inn) on Route 10 in East Hanover last night and will be back again tonight. I'm going to try and get us a corner and maybe even have the sound up. Let's Go Red!by PRR94 - Hockey

Re: ECAC Semis in NY/NJ - 22 years ago
I called up 10 West Bistro Sportz Bar & Grille on Route 10 in East Hanover and they will show the games Friday & Saturday. I will be there on Friday around 5 or 5:30 and try to reserve a spot. If anyone is coming, let me know and I'll try and reserve seatsby PRR94 - Hockey
Re: NJ - 22 years ago
Rich- Thanks for the info. Actually, I work in East Hanover and usually hang out at The Sportz Bar after our company softball games. I just figured I could get a better draw in NYC. But if I can't. I'll definitely head over to the Ramada.by PRR94 - Hockey
ECAC Semis in NY/NJ - 22 years ago
Will anyone be watching the games this weekend at a bar in NYC or in NJ? If not, I'm considering getting DirecTV before then. I'm just not sure bars will be willing to show the hockey game during Hoops March Madness.by PRR94 - Hockey
Cornell in New York Times - 22 years ago
Not sure if anyone saw this, but Cornell made the headline of the Hockey Notebook section in today's New York Times. "Big Red Takes Title In ECAC" on page D6. It mentions both Underhill & LeNeveu and Sarah & John Hughes.by PRR94 - Hockey
