Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Crowd (and announcers) sounding anxiousby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Minny announcer says "I like that Krantz, he's a pretty good defenseman ... and he's only a freshman." Rare praise for a Cornell player by these clowns.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Shots only 8-6 bad guys in this period. Clearly sounds like we are doing much better of late.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Also, the Minny announcers are saying how proud they are of the Gophers "flawless effort." If that is true, we have to be proud.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
It sounds like there have been more board battles lately; we have to like that.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
It does sound like the Gophers have a serious transition game, but again part of my perception may be the crowd's excitement every time they break out of their zone.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
For those watching, how (if at all) is our game being affected by the larger ice surface vs. the effect of Minnesota's speed and passing skills?by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
End of 2, 1-1. We have 1:40 of powerplay to start the 3rd. We're weathering a serious storm. 20 minutes of regulation left and we are still alive. We sounded a bit stronger in the 2nd, so hope we can ratchet it up in the 3rd and steal this one.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Minnesota penalty at 19:40 of the second. Let's do it!by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
killed the penalty, but lots of chances. McKee sounds spectacular. Cornell now has a dangerous flurry in the Minnesota end, but Briggs holds on. 1:20 left in secondby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Dang, another CU penalty with 4:00 in second. Well, time for another shorty!by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
These jokers (the announcing team, that is), never tell you how much time is left. How lame.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Come on, keep it together. We can take this.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Carefoot Shorty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Great save by McKee on a breakaway, but another penalty on CU ... O'Byrne, I believeby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Moron Somner now says "there are a lot of games where Cornell has been outshot by 15 or so shots, so they're used to that." Huh?by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Yes -- it's actually like putting a drunken fan in the boothby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Good flurry on PP. Scott's shot grazes outside of net.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Penalty on Minnesota. The color guy sounds like someone stuck a knife in his back ("the ref. couldn't wait to give Cornell a call". Yuck.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
While you would expect student announcing teams to be homers, these alleged "professionals" are pathetic. We're being outshot 17-3!by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Cornell kills the penalty and finally keeps the puck in Minny's end for a few secondsby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Having to kill so many penalties certainly won't help our stamina. Settle down!by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Another Cornell penalty. The speed factor, again.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Another minny PP. It sounds like we simply can't handle their speed right now. That will have to change if we want to move on.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
We are still hanging in, Minnesota sounds incredibly fast. These announcers are piss-poor. The color guy keeps shouting over the play-by-play man and you can't hear what the heck is going half the time. Another close call for Minny.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: CU-Minnesota Game Thread - 19 years ago
Minnesota hits the post on the PP, then McKee covers. The Minnesota color guy (I believe it's former North Stars coach Glen Somner) is a pathetic homer. Cook knocks net off and gets called for delay of game.by scoop85 - Hockey
