The best scoring chances before the 3-0 goal came from simply putting the puck to the net. Great approach to start this game. Keep it up!by VIEWfromK - Hockey

Jeff Malott is on a tear in the AHL. He has seven goals and four assists in his past seven games including a hat trick last Wednesday against Anthony Angello and Milwaukee.by VIEWfromK - Hockey

Did anybody make it out to see Morgan Barron play? Wish it hadn’t been a night game. He’s battled through diminishing playing time. And now for your go ahead goal…by VIEWfromK - Hockey

sah67 VIEWfromK I’m guessing that Bancroft learned a pretty important lesson today. Luckily all that it cost them was a shutout. I saw him storm off down the tunnel after the RPI goal…I thought it was an injury situation, but I’m guessing he was the one responsible for the giveaway that led to the goal? Yes, he tried to elevate a pass out in front instead of putting the puck in the corner orby VIEWfromK - Hockey

I’m guessing that Bancroft learned a pretty important lesson today. Luckily all that it cost them was a shutout. I felt bad for him because he took it pretty hard. I thought DeSantis was gonna get the monkey off his back with the empty net but the puck jumped on him. Must be the book on the RPI goalie was wrap around. They tried it all night. Mack changed up the angle by going far side instby VIEWfromK - Hockey

ER No the same person incurred two separate penalties. So two power plays consecutively It’s not a double minor though since it wasn’t one single act. I thought it would be a 5x3 because it was two separate penalties. The scenario of two separate penalties shouldn’t result in differing loss of man power just because the separate penalties were committed by the same player. I know it’s not coby VIEWfromK - Hockey

Re: Cornell v Union - 3 months ago
Twelve hours later and I’m still trying to figure out how to dissect that game. It was a game with three very distinctly different periods. Cornell came out, got that quick one and then couldn’t build on it due to penalties. They couldn’t get anything going the rest of the first. They came out in the second, won a ton of board battles and maintained a strong cycle. They dominated in possessiby VIEWfromK - Hockey

RichH Greg: THREAD TITLE!! Por favor. (I didn’t really care tonight because I was able to catch much of the 3rd via radio, but I’m on weird work hours this year and hope to do some time shift watching down the stretch) You’ve gotta work on your lobster hands. Re: Cornell 1 Yale 1, shoot out win, Ivy League Champions - 3 months ago
Yale played that entire third period like they were sitting on a lead. Cornell kept coming and I expected them to wear them down and push one across up until the Castagna penalty. I was hoping he’d get a chance in OT to win it and repay the boys for killing the penalty. There’s not much left to say about it but let’s hope that the season doesn’t come down to needing them to convert on a powerby VIEWfromK - Hockey

scoop85 Jeff Hopkins '82 marty sah67 Ken Schott spoke to Schafer and Castagna at the postgame presser: Mike had a nice little wisecrack about Schott confusing 2024 for 2014 and suggested he not run for office Anyone who doesn't watch this video especially from the 3 minute mark to the end will be banned from eLynah. Trotsky That Castagna goal was a beautiful shot. "Natural scorer." Didn’t it feel like time stood still once he got into the clear on that one? Lots of time to wonder where he was gonna shoot. I didn’t guess top corner short side though. Most of our guys go for the deke (a La the Mack goal). What a finish! Four point night for a freshman. Don’t see a lot of those in these partsby VIEWfromK - Hockey

TimV VIEWfromK That was a neat arena... Players walking to the bench through the crowd is unique. Of course a win helps but would gladly go back there someday. I was talking to a rink staffer during pregame warmups. He told me because of a problem with the under ice cooling system they had to re-route the visiting team from the original entry through the zamboni doors in the southeast cornby VIEWfromK - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ RPI, 2/9 - 4 months ago
That game was close due solely to the effort by Watson. He had at least a half dozen “ten bell” saves in that one. Maybe a third Cornell goal earlier doesn’t break RPI’s back but the timing of the Seger goal sucked most of the rest of the life out of them. By the way congrats on 100 career points Gabriel. More than half of them in a season plus at Cornell. What a difference maker in every faby VIEWfromK - Hockey

rojo Malinski got the callup on Sunday and my prayers yesterday were answered. He wasn't in the Av's projected lineup for last night's Devils game at the Rock, but he dressed! I was flying in to Newark and believed Bednar, who has had high praise for Sam, would get him in there, especially in the second game of a back-to-back. Gotta believe! Sam logged 12 minutes on 15 shifts. He went hard all niby VIEWfromK - Hockey

Re: Clarkson at Cornell, 2/3 - 4 months ago
I appreciated the student section recognizing O’Brien after he stepped in to defend Seger late. Not sure how often the guy tabbed as the extra skater gets his name chanted. He did a nice job occasionally playing up on the wing filling in for Psenicka. I really am enjoying their post game celebrations. As long as they promise that nobody will get hurt I love watching them run up the tunnelby VIEWfromK - Hockey
Re: Clarkson at Cornell, 2/3 - 4 months ago
This weekend I saw a lot of characteristics consistent with the recipe for success of the Schafer era. This team has shown us their speed and their skill and now they have shown that they have added grind to their game. Friday night it took them a period to get to it but tonight it was there from the start. Every line is committing to it. It was especially nice to see them use it to perfectioby VIEWfromK - Hockey

There was a wrestling event and basketball last night but I’m not sure how much either of those took away folks who otherwise would have been at hockey. Could use the extra support tonight since Clarkson usually travels decent compared to the other schools. Plus their band is always there.by VIEWfromK - Hockey
Re: St. Lawrence at Cornell, 2/2 - 4 months ago
Kraft was an animal tonight! He made the play that led to the rebound on the Devlin goal. Had a nose for the puck on almost every shift. Made three defensive plays in the third while holding down the lead (1-play at the blue line to stop an entry, 2-in perfect position to intercept a pass at the top of the zone and 3-a lay out to block a shot late either short handed or on the 6x5). Re: Cornell 3 Quinnipiac 2 (ot) - 4 months ago
I thought it was appropriate that Mack got credit for an assist on the game winner. He drove the offense on some of their finer scoring chances later in the game. How often though do you assist on a goal of a player who replaces you on a line change? Mack handed it off to Robertson as they exited the zone and went for the change. Bancroft comes on and meets Robertson as he comes around the neby VIEWfromK - Hockey

I hope to hear the dull thud of that Bancroft goal over and over in my dreams tonight The guys were so pumped to win that one. It was great to see the synchronized bouncing in the celebration and also the way they raced up the tunnel after the salute. That was such a weird game. Under ten shots on goal into the third. A short handed goal against. A penalty shot goal. So many stops and startby VIEWfromK - Hockey
