Apparently Moulson slept with Gleed's mother last weekend ... Just Kidding. Don't read too much into it. Hockey is a tough game to play competitively against friends; they were playing hard and one or the other of them probably just took offense to some of the things that transpired during the game. It's over, not a big deal.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: [OT] "Scouts?" - 18 years ago
Um, yeah, I've been watching hockey for thirty years, but thanks. Lets try this again. The players fell to the ice. No intervention. They got up, fell over again, and rolled around, skates flashing in the bright lights of linesman indifference. The officials ordered from Subway. The players separated, returned to their benches, and launched tactical nuclear weapons by remote control.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: [OT] "Scouts?" - 18 years ago
The linesmen never tried to break a fight up, until 1.) The players fall to the ice, or 2.) The players wear themselves out and basically stop fighting.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: whats the deal with the seated only seats? - 18 years ago
It used to be mainly a townie section, but I think there's been more and more students in the past 5 years. A couple seasons ago, there were some incidents with cops taking people out of Lynah very forcefully. So yea, they enforce the rules.by mjh89 - Hockey

Re: Al Montoya signs with Rangers - 18 years ago
LaBarbera is gone as he signed with the Kings today. So unless they sign a goalie (Khabibulin, CuJo, etc.) Weekes'll probably be the starter with Holmqvist taking back-up duties (they just signed him). Montoya will proabably start at Hartford and be backed up by Valiquette.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: Puzzling mention of Ithaca on ESPN.com's article Idiots Guide to the NHL Lockout - 18 years ago
If I had to guess, I would say he is making a point about how strange some of the places the NHL has ended up are.by mjh89 - Hockey

Mike Hedrick 01 Wrote: Most likely. Kevin Weekes will probably be resigned, and either LaBarbera or Holmqvist will likely get the other spot. Holmqvist is the top prospect at this point. Top prospect at the goaltending position you mean? Fedor Tjutin is the Rangers' top prospect and will be an awesome defenseman very soon. Also, don't forget that Dan Blackburn is still in the goaltendiby mjh89 - Hockey

I still think they should go endless OT in every game. or play 4 on 4 for 2 minutes, 3 on 3 for 2 minutes, 2 on 2 for 2 minutes, and then 1 on 1 until someone scores. They used to do this at some tournaments I played at growing up, and it was one of the most exciting things I'd everby mjh89 - Hockey

Scott and Pegoraro are small players and a physical presence needs to be on the line with them. Barlow will certainly not be a physical presence because he is tiny, and Hynes could fill that role.by mjh89 - Hockey

Re: OT: The Yankees - 19 years ago
You gotta do what you gotta do to try to win the games. A-Rod was right when he said that it put the umps in a terrible position having to make that call in front of 55,000 screaming New Yorkers. It probably would have been classier to 'accept defeat' but thats what usually left for the Red Sox. World Series since 1918: Yankees: 26 Sox: 1 Go Yanks.by mjh89 - Hockey
