Craziness in Nanaimo - 20 years ago
Read this weird occurance following Game 7 of Nanaimo's first round series:by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
The reason Nickerson will not be back is because a QMJHL team wants him to leave Clarkson very badly and play there. If Clarkson could keep him, they would. We all hate him, but he is an outstanding hockey player. He has NHL potential, IMO.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: vesce? - 20 years ago
This board is the only place I heard about the concussion. Don't think he actually had one.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: vesce? - 20 years ago
Vesce reagrrevated his groin injury that bothered him most of the season. The groin injury spread to his abdomen and will need surgery. He was done for the season and with no possibility of return. Wodon probalby confused Pegoraro with Vesce. As Age said, Vesce was standing on the wall near the locker room for all of both games. Pegoraro was in the press box thing Sunday night.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Captains for next year - 20 years ago
Vesce's season was over even if Cornell had made it to the Frozen Four. He reaggrevated his groin injury, spreading it to his abdomen. He is due for surgery. ZERON chance he could have played.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
You guys make a fair point, but I'm having a tough time putting any blame on anybody but the players and coaches.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Captains for next year - 20 years ago
One would think that Hornby would have gotten an A this yearby calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
The season's over chant friday night was directed to Nickerson. If he got a DQ then he would have gotten TWO games because he already has one DQ this year.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
I don't think Cornell could have played better than they did Friday night. Clarkson clearly could have played a lot better and after that fight, Clarkson was a much different hockey team. Cornell played far worse.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Turning Point of the Series - 20 years ago
The fight Friday night. Totally charged Clarkson up. They were totally dominated Friday night and were mentally beaten up, totally lacking confidence. Then the fight happened it completely changed the complexion of the series and Clarkson's play.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Captains for next year - 20 years ago
I think Iggulden should be captain. He put in more effort the last few weeks than anyone. Tonight, he worked his ass off until the final buzzer. The guy battled to be in the lineup in the beginning of the season, but really took off in the second half. One of Cornell's best players this year in my opinion. Agreed that Downs should get the A.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
Marr put in his time. His career is over. He deserved to play just a little longer. Not to mention the fact that he never played at Lynah.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
Turning point of the series was the fight Friday night. Totally energized Clarkson.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Hornby, Vesce, Marr, Wallace - 20 years ago
Would have been more classy if Marr went in after the fifth goal and Hornby was on the ice for the end of the game.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
Lack of class from Schafer not putting Marr in after the fifth goal and Hornby on the ice for the end of the game. Very disappointed with that.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game Thoughts - 20 years ago
You make some important points. The powerplay has been brutal in large part because it totally fails to adjust to opposition penalty kills. When you play a team three straight times, that team can perfectly adjust. First game against Clarkson, 2 powerplay goals. I guess the powerplay has scored in the last two games, but it really hasn't been a factor regardless. Cook and Moulson were awfulby calgARI '07 - Hockey
Tickets Available for Tonight? - 20 years ago
It is a FACT that there were over 1000 tickets available for tonight's game as of 2 PM today when the ticket office opened. There better be ZERO left. The Guster concert may be a factor though. Would be a tragedy if they didn't sell out perhaps the biggest hockey game played on the Cornell campus in years.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Be at the Game EARLY on Saturday - 20 years ago
Unfortunately, there is a Guster concert tonight. I'm still thinking the place will be full and hopefully EARLY.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game Thoughts - 20 years ago
Enough of this. Shaking keys, making chants. Means nothing. Let's get serious. If Cornell shows up last night, this whole thing is over. This stuff just doesn't matter right now. All that matters is winning tonight. The only thing that will factor in is what Cornell team shows up.by calgARI '07 - Hockey

Season's Over was in reference to Matt Nickerson in anticipation of him getting a DQ.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Be at the Game EARLY on Saturday - 20 years ago
There has been great atmosphere these two games, perhaps even better than the Harvard game. Tomorrow will hopefully be the best.by calgARI '07 - Hockey

game reminded me a lot of the western michigan weekend.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Game Thoughts - 20 years ago
I thought Marr should go in after the third goal. McKee didn't see the first one, but likely would have wanted the second and third ones back, and the fourth one for that matter too. He was not challenging shooters like usual, staying deep in his net.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: vesce? - 20 years ago
He took the warmup and said he couldn't go. So Pegoraro dressed between warmups and the first period. Probably related to the injury he has had most of the season. He probably could have gone, but likely didn't expect the rest of the team not to show up (hold Carefoot and Glover). I don't know for a fact, but I would be shocked if he didn't play tomorrow night.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Harvard wins in OT - 20 years ago
Bad officiating was in Cornell's favor tonight.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Game Thoughts - 20 years ago
Definitely an uncharacteristic game for Cornell. Clearly, the difference in the game was special teams. Powerplay was AWFUL. Cook and Moulson both had bad games. How many opportunities is Pegoraro gonna get? He just can't find his game from last year. Penalty Kill was AWFUL. McKee looked a lot like he did earlier in the season in not challenging shooters. Defensive zone coverage was prettby calgARI '07 - Hockey
