Re: Impressions from SLU(t)/Clarkson weekend at Lynah - 18 years ago
LynahFaithfulS I realize I am a little behind (timewise), but I wanted to give credit where credit is due...the guy a seat or two over from me (section b, row 5) does always do this cheer, and then others join in. (I am guilty of not getting my own timing right to do the begining of the cheer...) Well, back in the mid-90s, it was a joint effort, and was not started by a single person. Re: Guaranteed ECAC Title vs Guaranteed NCAA Advance - 18 years ago
I'm not a young'un. I was a freshman in '94. But I still place the importance of the NCAAs way above the ECACs now. Why? Because we've won the ECACs four times since I was in school, and the sheen has worn off a bit. Yes, you could say that I'm now sort of used to winning the conference. As a result, it pretty much seems to me that the only thing left for us to do is win the national champiby HeafDog - Hockey

Re: Cornell-Colgate at Riviera in NYC - 18 years ago
Would there happen to be anyone living on the UES who receives the game and would be able to record it for me? I can't make it to watch the game on Saturday night, but, if possible, would love to watch it on do-it-yourself tape delay Sunday morning. I have TiVo and the ability to burn programs and all, I just don't receive the right TV channels, so I'm out of luck there. I would compensate theby HeafDog - Hockey

CowbellGuyHeafDogThere's a couple more that I don't think are on there (Age, any chance for an update to it?). I'm sorry. Does that look like my name at the top or e-mail address on the corrections line? Ah, quite true. I missed that part. I'll send him an email.by HeafDog - Hockey

Yale announcers saying some very nice things about Lynah and The Faithful, about how much spirit there is, and how it's rare to see that much at schools in the northeast. Gotta hand it to them for complimenting their opponents.by HeafDog - Hockey
Quick rules question: checking the hell out of McNulty - 18 years ago
Just wanted to verify... In last weekend's game against Clarkson, McNulty came out of the crease to play the puck along the end boards. One of our guys checked him, and McNulty lost his stick, had to play with a regular-ol' weenie-sized stick, and promptly let the biscuit in the basket. (And then everyone started getting chippy, and George Roll needed a hug.) My question is, when the sieveby HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Impressions from SLU(t)/Clarkson weekend at Lynah - 18 years ago
Well, the goalie/sieve and its variations have pretty much disappeared, to name a few. Goalie/sieve/post has still survived, somewhat, but this family of cheers used to be much more common, and the participation level used to be much higher. (And yes, "blue line/idiot" and "red line/idiot" are nice additions to the group.)by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Impressions from SLU(t)/Clarkson weekend at Lynah - 18 years ago
RichH The reason it died was because it was specifically singled out by Coach Schafer at the start of the '96-'97 (or thereabouts) season as one of the cheers that needed to go. Yeah, I remember that. Still, it's possible to only apply that to home games. RichH At the road Quinnipiac game at Yale, I heard some people trying to start the "Good bye" song at the end. (jkahn, thanks very much for providing the link.) There's a couple more that I don't think are on there (Age, any chance for an update to it?). At the very second that a Cornell power play expires, and the opposing team's player emerges from the sin bin, we vent our frustration (and naturally, this is hopefully not a common occurrence) by yelling, "<school> returns to full strengby HeafDog - Hockey

Re: Impressions from SLU(t)/Clarkson weekend at Lynah - 18 years ago
DeltaOne81 If you guys can start the "Kill Red Kill", which apparently is catching on pretty well - good job on that - then you can certainly revive this. Please, bring that back! There's probably no cheer that garners universal support, and "Kill Red Kill" is no exception. cth95DeltaOne81"Our team's sleeping" Cheer of the weekend, without a doubt. You know it's good when the cheer is inconsistent cause people keep laughing in the middle of it. Maybe even cheer of the year. That was definitely a classic. We have created some great cheers to use on a regular basis, but it is tough to beat one that comes out of the blue like that. Re: Jerseys? What font? - 18 years ago
I had them put a number on the back. No arms. And this wasn't a game-worn jersey, if that helps any (there wasn't already a number on there). I have no idea how much of the $48 was for shipping. I'll have to find out.by HeafDog - Hockey
Re: Jerseys? What font? - 18 years ago
I just received my jersey back from PSP last night via UPS Ground. I had them put a nameplate with a seven-letter name, and a single-digit number on the jersey, and they charged me $48 (before tax but including shipping) for it. It was somewhat more than I thought it would be. Is that about the same amount that other people have paid for PSP's services, or did I get horked?by HeafDog - Hockey

I didn't watch the game, but he looked great on paper and in the NFL Primetime highlights. I'm with you guys -- good for him. (On a side note, however, it was a bit unfair for Tom Jackson and Chris Berman to say that he's the smartest QB in the history of the Rams' organization. Just because athletes went to Harvard or Cornell or wherever doesn't necessarily make them smart. )by HeafDog - Hockey

I'll answer as many questions as I can, even though I don't have it myself. I've used it every now and then in a relative's car, and it's pretty sweet. Actually, have to agree with jy3 on this one... I love Hanover. EBA's, Lou's, Molly's, most of the places in town, they're all awesome. And the Dartmouth campus is every bit as pretty as ours. VT/NH is one of the most beautiful parts of the country.by HeafDog - Hockey
