Re: Alumni in the Pros - December 2007 - Habs - Panthers 12/28 - 16 years ago
O'Byrne and the Canadians are playing the Panthers on NHL Network right now. Canadians up 3-0 in the first 5 minutes. Panthers started a scrum by going after Higgins and O'Byrne came to the rescue (taking 2 for roughing), and the TSN announcers were very happy about the additional size O'Byrne brings to lineup for the Canadians. Re: Skills challenge - summary - 16 years ago
From what I remember and could gather from Scrivens as the announcer: Fastest skater: Greening (although Berk was announced as the winner, but he clearly lost) Hardest shot: Fontas (reported at 87 vs. Krantz at 86) Accuracy: Barlow 4/5 pucks in the corners Slot shooting: M. Kennedy (3/5 goals on DiLeo) Penalty shootout: Nicholls (3 goals)by JDeafv - Hockey

Phil - Great post! Dan Glover is playing for the Fresno Falcons in the ECHL with the following line: 01-00-00-00.by JDeafv - Hockey

Kevin McLeod is playing for the Texas Brahams and has 1 G and 2 A through 4 games playing defense. Meanwhile, Daniel Pegoraro is again playing for the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and also has 1 G and 2 A through 4 games.by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Cornell-RIT postgame - 16 years ago
sah67We were achingly quiet for most of the games...very few chants were started, and even fewer got going when several of us tried to start them. Some of us in attendance felt it was appropriate to refrain from the "sieve" chant when the goalie has a shut-out going. Also, the "other team," "sucks" cheer is difficult when Cornell is being shut-out half way througby JDeafv - Hockey

Ah, so there is a larger area inside the blue line, right?by JDeafv - Hockey

Are the lines really different in Blue Cross Arena as Coach Schafer is quoted as saying in the Daily Sun today? If so, how?by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Ottawa game time start - 16 years ago
Yikes, now the athletics website is listing the women's game starting at 2:00 PM with the men's game "after the women's game." The schedule still says 4:00 PM. Maybe they need more time to put the name plates on the jerseys.by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Report? - 16 years ago
RichHSurprised nobody has mentioned the presence of Huggy Bear painted at center-ice. Yeah, it's a bad logo whether it's on the ice or vibrating on the website. What I don't get is why have it at all? Do any of our sports teams actually use it on their uniforms?by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Red-White Scrimmage - 16 years ago
I agree, Barlow did show more stick handling skills than he's showed in previous seasons.by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Retired Number - 16 years ago
I'm guessing they were just wearing the red-stripes from Florida so they don't have to do laundry for the game reds before the season starts. There was no indication they plan to adopt the red-stripe (Jamaican beer) jerseys for the regular season. Also, none of the white jerseys were ready for the season (no name plates, no captain letters, etc.).by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Red-White Scrimmage - 16 years ago
Some of my impressions from tonight's game: -I agree with Doug, Mike Devin looked very good tonight. He has a good wrist /snap shot from the point and consistently put it on net. That should help the PP this season if he gets some playing time. -Riley Nash didn't seem to have much intensity. Even his penalty shot at the end seemed lackluster. Think Sasha Pokulok's sophomore season. -by JDeafv - Hockey

calgARI '07How'd Nash look? Pretty good, he was sitting in the press box.by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Ottawa game time start - 16 years ago
There were flyers being circulated at the red/white game tonight advertising "hockeyfest," on that day. It listed the women's game at 1:00 PM and the men's game at 4:00 PM. Quick google search reveals the same information from the TGHA.by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Ticket Numbers and Camp Out - 16 years ago
amerks127wouldn't general admission be so nice and fix so many problems? I heard there is desire from the ticket office to try general admission for at least one game, because they feel it will encourage the best fans to show up early for the best seats. However, it will not happen this year.by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Ticket Numbers and Camp Out - 16 years ago
The line checks started with all the graduate students and then a handfull of undergrad groups of 100 at a time from 7-8:30. The pep band came around 8:45 and the team followed around 9:30. They attempted to show a "highlight real" from last year, but the laptop only ran about 3 minutes of what should have been a longer set of clips before windows hibernated. The new website is ok, but I find it annoying the way the ugly sports logo rumbles when you put the mouse over it!by JDeafv - Other Sports
Re: Ticket Numbers and Camp Out - 16 years ago
Any word if they are actually going to make the graduate students wait this year?by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Ticket Numbers and Camp Out - 16 years ago
TownieThe overnight line check procedure is designed to weed out the facetimers, with designed being the operative word. No, no, no, the overnight line check procedure is designed to promote facetiming.by JDeafv - Hockey
Ticket Procedure Posted - 16 years ago
The hockey ticket procedure is posted online. It still includes a waste-of-time night in the the Ramin room, and an attempt to boost attendance at an otherwise anemically attended Cornell sporting event.by JDeafv - Hockey

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) is a federal law that requires colleges and Universities to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses. The act is named in memory of Jeanne Clery, a 19-year-old Lehigh University freshman who was assaulted and murdered in her residence hall room on April 5, 1986. Link to more iby JDeafv - Hockey

Re: NCAA Bans Live Blogging - 17 years ago
From the newspaper discussion: Jeff FordThe Courier Journal sets a bad example by choosing to simply ignore a rule that it disagrees with rather than try to change a rule. All citizens are obligated to live by the rules and work to change rules that are not fair. I am really pissed about the new stop sign that was installed at the end of my street and feel that it is within my first amendmentby JDeafv - Other Sports

Re: Horrible Game... - 17 years ago
Al DeFlorioThe Clarkson-Q game is at a sold-out TD BankNorth, not Cheel. On ESPNU at 8pm tonight. I thought early in the season the Cornell-Harvard game was listed on ESPNU, hence the 8 PM start time printed on some tickets. In the playoff possibilities, regardless of Cornell's outcome, we need outside help (Colgate or Clarkson) to finish in the top 4.by JDeafv - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Clarkson Post-game - 17 years ago
CowbellGuyMore crappy video of our favorite Clarkson fan. His mother must be proud. I *think* you can see Clarkson rink staff watching this episode, which clearly supports daredevil's statements regarding the fear of the ushers to enforce the stated policies. However, it's possible those people standing in the back are just other fans.by JDeafv - Hockey
